  1. yep it says "an intake restrictor". that got a bit tricky for GTR with 2 intakes but the mighty march only has 1 intake. I figure the only chance for a turbo car in IPRA is either spend way more than 1 can afford, or something light and small enough that the restrictor won't limit power. No chance of 900cc making make 350hp so I am safe.
  2. what is your intended use? cams racing? AASA racing? ANDRA thingy? among other things, CAMS require the main hoop to be 45mm with 2.5mm thickness, or 50mm with 2mm thickness. Other members carn be 38mm 2.5mm thick or 40mm with 2.0mm thickness. Assuming it is a japanese bolt in cage it almost certainly doesn't meet the CAMS requirements. Also watch out for the design of the A pillar mount - if it has more than 1 bend at the windscreen it is not legal (most around the dash cages don't comply as they have an S shape.)
  3. assuming it is front (rears generally have the thread to pull it off the handbrake drums), it is likely just light surface rust sticking the caliper to the hub. so, as said above bashing with a rubber mallet or similar will do it sooner or later. hit the face of the disc with medium hit around the outside and it will come free.
  4. I'm running the 245/45/17 federals, but on 17x8" rims. I don't know why you would go that narrow on 9/5", go for 265 instead. The federals are cheap for a great performer.
  5. night shift this week. at least there is nothing to do but whore in Noddy's thread.
  6. I don't see the issue. You will get much better prices and service from Just Jap than Nissan anyway. It took Nissan dealers 10+ years to start supporting imported r32s (and later models), but now they happily supply anything and keep a lot of stock on the shelf.
  7. mods? not sure what you mean? I have a set of 356mm on the 350z (well did, I just sold it) for about 2 years, straight bolt on, no problems. I have a set of 356mm on the new race car but it hasn't run yet. straight bolt on. I have a set of 330mm on the stagea under 17" rims. These have been running for at least 3 years and are second hand off my race car. 3rd set of pads, first set of rotors, absolutley no issues. I did have a minor issue with installation, it is a 32 gtr kit with m12 bolts but the stage hub allows m14 bolts. Added a small sleeve. Also had to trim the brake backing plate. aleks, sorry not sure but you would need VERY generous internal size to run 356 under 17s. The only one we got to fit, and only by 1mm was a set of weds. Also required adjsutment to the caliper mounts and the caliper, but it was a race car so who cares. In practice....330 17"+, 356 18"+
  8. same....very sorry to hear that....you really did not get enough chances to enjoy this car...
  9. cutting it close......motor is being put back together today....fingers crossed
  10. why not get him to talk to STRETCH. Greg actually engineers and inspects these cars
  11. hmm I was thinking second handy from a wreck or someone who doesn't have a cargo blind. but if they are a common break I might have to go nissan Thanks Adam.
  12. hmm tempted. I might pre-pay another monitoring fee to another incarnation of Quiktrack until it goes broke, "sells" the company but does not honour the prepaid monitoring fees and offers me a great deal to pre-pay again for the same service. actually I might just pass
  13. good call....I've picked up 2 tap/die sets over the years looking for the right bits, may as well have just bought the right ones. they are still as dear as poison each thought
  14. lol orange IS way out.....but g4 were electic blue and d2 were purple! I guess they are meant to be noticed....
  15. ahh good to see you upgrading. what are you aiming for if 427 is not enough?
  16. too slow! but I had to push the stagea into the work queue to get another $300 ebay turbo put on it $300 a year on ebay turbos so far.
  17. I'm still running mine years later without problems
  18. please post up wiring if you have it....astra sounds easier to find than mr2 or porsche
  19. damn straight. global warming FAIL!
  20. to unsag the doors..... raise car onto a jack. place chassis stand under the door. slowly and carefully let the car down a cm or 2. close door without having to lift it.
  21. Well, now I've got a cargo blind I noticed the I have a broken clippy thing on the passenger side near the tailgate. Does anyone have one?
  22. yes and no....mine required a lot of adjustment to the bumper because I have the dayz kit, it cleared the standard bumper ok but not mine. fitted the chassis fine.
  23. yeah sorry to say I don't see you picking up decent suspension for $1200. Most of the cheap coilover kits are best described as harsh, they generally run high spring rates and hard shocks to feel "racey". new standard type shocks to replace what you have + sway bars is the best way to spend 1200. BTW I disagree about off the shelf bilsteins being too soft. I run them on the race car and they are excellent for such a (relitively) cheap shock. I would have to pay $5k+ to get something better. Soft is good to an extent (or at least, harder is not always better) because it helps keep the wheels on the road.
  24. Buy your own trailer mate, the hire ones are death traps....would only use them for emergencies. $2-4k for a trailer. Don't forget when considering loads that it is car + trailer + petrol (heaps of jerry cans) + tools + people in the car etc etc. Really adds up, I guess mine is 4.5t all up loaded
