yeah totally agree.....I think a little time on a shaker rig and in a wind tunnel would work wonders....no doubt the os top running cars have been through the same years ago. wouldn't be cheap, but when are gaining seconds cheap? and I wouldn't write off the taxis yet...they just need a little rework to suit the semis - it was clearly shown on the weekend that a soft semi has more grip than a supercar race slick. don't know if any of them will be back after the showing this year though which is a real shame.

that is one very well behaved and well engineered car. big oversteer at turn 6 too

had to be said twice apparently

OMG I met Wayne Prenter at Superlap
-
lol not really....he is just the spitting image. he clearly gets the best, and more, from every steering wheel he is given

right here Simon: http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results..../2010.EAST.S2.Y Pretty much any timed race meet in Oz gets posted on Natsoft.

ahh well shortcuts are one of the things that come with local knowledge. they are big curbs at EC but a couple of them don't cause much upset. I wouldn't be hitting the curbs on a track I didn't know with a stiff car with big aero either. lucky for the visitors it wasn't oran park....lots to be gained on the curbs there. noel.... +1 on the panspeed car in turn 1...would love to know

I run 360 front. you are too low. not just your cvs but handling too. if you really want to run that low you need some suspension pickup point adjustments. but it would be a lot of money just to look good. or if you really just want to run that low and dont care about the handling just keep replacing cvs

my 350z convertible

yeah I really don't like that style. the factory ones are expensive but well engineered....turbo gasket blowouts are a PITA. personally I would not use those ones. I bought these ebay ones, copy of the factory styles and they look oK http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SKYLINE-GTR-BNR32-R...=item2ea96a1369

hahh yeah somehow I've managed to time missing you perfectly on all your trips down this way. I'm a rude bastard. Come back from our track day, maybe 3rd time lucky

ahh well that is the problem with the view from the top....you have to climb the hill safely first sorry to hear.....and I hope she is back on her feet soon enough! good to hear the medical guys helped a spectator out

Well I don't count as an expert...but turn 6 entry was poor and 11/12 was a little slow, but otherwise it was almost inch perfect. Which is a real credit to the driver who I assume has not done hundred or thousands of laps like some locals have. The difference to Dave's lap at turn 2 is immaterial, on sticky tyres you can do either single or double apex for the same result, only the second apex and corner exit matters. The g output in that video is interesting...he was pulling up to 2g which is extraordinary in a tin top. Also he hardly backed off in turn 1, would love to know their apex speed - it is very likely the quickest a touring car has ever gone through that corner Re the lap times...absolutely not. In fact the superlap cars are on super soft/1 session tyres. For a lap record to count it has to be set during a race, so Hossack's time was set on tyres that can last at least 20 minutes at full noise (probably mediums) whereas all the front runners here were changing to new soft tyres every 2 laps. Both the Rose and Fernandex cars are ex-supercars, but they were running on hard semi slicks.....very bad choice and it's a shame - I still think with the right focus the local supercars would go just as fast as the front running emos. While on development...Luff coming home 4th in the elise shows the value of a car that has been developed over years, great showing. I have no doubt Mark Berry's car will be back in the top 3 next year with a year of 4wd development under its belt - I just hope they can find some wind tunnel time, aero is clearly a major difference to the front cars.

great turn out from the stagea crew....heaps more stags than skylines on the hill Noel, did Anna survive the climb OK? I heard she ended up in the medical centre?

:wavey: 'bout time we crossed paths

Noel you can get your hand on the Hancook tyres locally as of about 3 months ago. I'm going to give their hards a run at our next race meet

Absolutely amazing times yesterday, it was great to see! I thought the quickest cars might get to super car speed, and that the 2 local supercars would be in with a chance....wrong on both counts! Here's some tin top lap records at Eastern Creek for reference: Sports Sedan: Darren Hossack Audi A4 1.30.4632 Supercar: Mark Skaife Commodore VT 1:31.7301 Sports Cars: Allan Simonsen Ferrari GT 360 1.33.4054 Super Tourers: Cameron McLean BMW 320i 1:33.8642 Carerra Cup: Alex Davison Porsche 911 GT3 1:34.2011 Improved Production: Dave Loftus Nissan Skyline 1.42.5294 Production Cars: Bob Pearson Mitsubishi Evo 10 1.45.7433 and outright: Nico Hulkenberg (GER) A1 Lola Zytek 1.19.142 So the sports sedan is still quicker, but the Cyber Evo is quicker than everything else. And the Sierra Sierra car is 1/10th slower than the supercar lap record. Wilfred in the Open Class EMO was within 2 seconds of the carrera cup times, and the clubsprint times fit in between IPRA and Production cars (surprisingly slow but I guess tyres were a huge limit....budget and power certainly weren't!) I know there were heaps of people who worked hard to get there and had their challenges. Mark doing a headgasket overnight, and Russ having to ship a bottom end from QLD, build it, and still make the track are among the big stories but there are heaps of others. The pansport rx7 was the stand out in obvious external work, but the the emos and wrxs were remarkable for how standard they look from a distance. Enourmous amounts of development in suspension and aero underneath that are the trick, in fact the power outputs from those cars were surprisingly low. I'd still take the BSM GTR if I had the choice of the keys to any of them, and Russ's 32 after that. But either way there were a heap of very impressive cars there BTW...well done on the EMOs....they had a great showing in every class. Hurts to say but they done damn good!

lol Paul lives in a parallel universe that revolves around him... apparently I snubbed him last superlap so steve-o is in good company I did see his old car on a stand somewhere pretty sure that's all it was....car on a hot lap and car on a cool down lap. Plenty of cars in each sessions so I am surprised there were not more incidents like that good to meet you anyway!

Not sure which posts you mean Craig but you might as well settle down. The forum rules clearly state no member cannot name any business in a negative post. That includes your post that has been editted. You should expect any posts like that to be deleted by a member or admin. And before you tell me that is bullshit again, consider that a forum member is currently being sued by a business they posted negative comments about. Luckily for the forums they have not been included in the case, but that may not always be the case. If you want to put forward comments...just make sure you do not name or clearly imply who the business is. simple.

ahh as usual...that puts 2 and 2 together

lol he is, is he? you are obviously across the details of trader income and hosting costs. Unlike many other, this forum is not run on a commercial basis and never has been. In fact, you aren't even a donator so all you have contributed to the cost of running this forum was increasing it with your complaint -
most likely its not really boost bleeding off. when it runs over 7psi does it keep accelerating smoothly or just subtly lose power? A lot of people have found that the factory tune is very intolerant of running extra boost, and it starts running very rich and retarding the timing- which in turn means it makes less boost and drops of quickly. In my car it was very voilent, felt like a bad missfire, but mine had an uncommon ecu. BTW your standard solenoid should not be connected if you are using a turbosmart or any other boost controller. So earthing the solenoid should make no difference

you need an adapter, oil filter/relocator and block are both female. the rb30 has just such a thing 6x22mm 12x30mm

lol good call...I bet a few of them don't have them. then again rainx is surprisingly effective
