  1. The HKS kansai controller is the one that can be used for drag. Other than that and custom made applications like Mark Berry's R34, every other controller bends the signals in the standard ATTESSA computer. But the effectiveness of those controllers is over a wide range. If you want to go bottom of the market just buy a variable resister from jaycar, don't pay that ebay guy $250 for the same thing.
  2. SAU does have track days - we have hired race tracks for every available weekend date at the the track we can afford in 2010....thread is over here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sa...el-t318706.html
  3. Payment sent today.... Full Name: Duncan Car Type: 32 gtr vspec II n1 Newb or not: newb Most recent lap time if not newb (can be another track if necessary but make sure you mention which one): 1.07 # of Drivers: 1 (probably one more later) # of Passengers & Name: many no doubt
  4. why do you want them drilled?
  5. your crazy....popping and flames impresses the laydeeez
  6. just to mention - there are actually 2 bleed nipples in the attessa system, 1 at the gearbox and another right up near the diff (bastard to get to). Some people need no bleeding, most people can just bleed the lower one....but sometimes you need to bleed the upper one as well
  7. sorry I disagree....the oiling system is absolutely identical in all motors other than the narrower oil pump drive. I have seen a couple of motors with wear or spun oil pump drives but it is less than 1 in 100 rb26 failures. In fact, go into GTR_Geoff's engine failure thread and find me a single instance where that caused a failure. All of rb26 series motors can do with some minor improvements for their oil systems....but after 15 years wear on the pump clearances, bearings, crank straightness, rings, pistons, bad tunes, bad oil changes etc etc etc are much more likely to cause issues.
  8. Terry....I've got no educated opinion on the cause, except to say it was nothing like right.....will update if they ever admit to anything, but my guess is they will just pay the bill I send and leave it at that. Toulene is still used by a lot of people and is the best way to actually up an octane rating....you might as well pour coke in your fuel tank as those "octane boosters" that add 0.1 rating per bottle. I would have needed about 70 bottles to increase it from 91 to 98 octane Speaking of which, sent them a $600 bill for fuel and workshop today.
  9. funny how quickly 7 dropped their rock solid guarantee that afl and taxis on the same channel would not be an issue
  10. yeah still on here too. average race tho
  11. cancel that, times are up....another good day for SAU class....and some damn quick cars these days http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....05/2010.WAKE.S1 2 1 Duncan Forrest Duncan Forrest Nissan R35 4D 29 24 1:02.4400 5 91 Michele Guyer Michele Guyer March 87B 5E 24 10 1:03.1591 0:05.4228 7 112 Stuart Inwood Stuart Inwood Nissan GTR R33 SVD 19 14 1:04.3460 0:06.6097 13 41 Neil de Pau Neil de Pau Radical Prosport 5D 19 14 1:05.6374 0:07.9011 19 551 Mark Smith Mark Smith Nissan Silvia 4D 17 14 1:07.4992 0:09.7629 Brian, did you not make this round?
  12. good work from Mark too...made it home after running a raceworx spec widebody 32 gtst all week
  13. well done guys re the fuse....we always carry a range of them in the boot. there are so many stages where you just can't get to the crew
  14. no sign of times on natsoft for today??? hope everyone went OK
  15. yeah pretty sure he is home and hosed, every car has cleared the last stage so far
  16. Snowy looks to be in an excellent position to take out EM (SAU class) on his first shot. Very good driving, (and a little good luck). Hope I haven't just put the mocker on them.
  17. Its a kind of impractical taxi with only 2 doors and very poor fuel economy. The ultimate example of why there is no point putting lipstick on a p1g.
  18. definately not off topic....see you at targa hi country
  19. I am absolutely astonished that car was not crushed. How could they let an uncomplied car loose? If collecters work out what it is it will set a record for a non-race aussie car
  20. I'd be devastated if that was my car (way too much blood, sweat and tears in in...some of them mine), but the truth is it is cheap and easy to reshell these cars. Other than the shell pretty much everything Mark is running this year rolled down a hill 7 times. Changeover cost for a new shell is less than $10k which is a drop in the ocean compared to some of these builds. I know of a full, uncomplied 33 GTR with running motor going for 12k...once you sell the motor it doesn't cost much. I guess snowy is going to need to reshell too, that one is seriously f**ked and I've never seen a "middle-cut".
  21. sorry I assumed you had unlimited budget because you had been working overseas. unfortunately if you have to ask you can't afford one. sorry.
  22. exactly correct. Mark and I are now building a short run of Raceworx Super Spartan Targa GTSTRs. We just need 8 more customers. They are about 1000kg, spaceframe, RB34DERT (super and turbo charged to help get the twin td06s spooling), hollinger sequential, carbon fibre body. They run 325 tyres on the rear and have 12 spot brakes, you would be a great customer. Best of all they run a Vipec ECU from the factory and include a 4th gear lock out for drag racing purposes. No rear seat either.
  23. We have been very lucky lately with our tracks, its a long time since something like this happened. Apparently driver and a couple of spectactors were taken to hospital but are stable
  24. yeah early modern looks like "SAU class" doesn't it! Good work from Tim, obviously he hasn't had to read any stages backwards this year! Roy, ATTKD Select is not a GTR, that is a different model of car. It does have many similar parts like the whole chasis. Engine is also very similar to NIssan's car but ATTKD's car has a larger stroke 2.8l, bigger cams and bigger turbos than the similar car from nissan. And while I'm glad Kel is in such a damn good car....I really don't agree with what the current rules allow.
  25. lol these cars have cheats? I heard that if you have your foot on the brake, turn on the rear demister, hit the left indicator twice while pulling the up gear shift that it puts the car into "no damage" mode. Until you next stop the car any crashes you have do not cause any loss of performance or handling. Heard this from the targa guys. seriously though...do you launch it from a standing start and how well is it standing up to it? the jdm cars that everyone is running at targa or similar do 15-30 launch control launches each event and I only know of one that has lunched their transaxle.
