  1. yeah I haven't seen either g4 or d2 brands for a while....ksport is around the place instead. No idea why they bother rebranding them when they are all exactly the same except colour!
  2. hahah another flux capacitor! don't follow my lead, who knows if the damn thing will do the job!?! BTW I can't get seats...they are out of stock indefinately. Just Jap are next cheapest place I know.
  3. looks like a good buy for anyone doing hillclimbs/superlap etc. where did you get silverstone softs, and have you run on them? Are they wet only or OK for supersprint style use
  4. I got one on my stagea recently (lots of other stuff at the same time). It is pretty good for the price but there are some things to watch out for like making sure the manifold surface is dead flat before you put it on. and some custom stuff needed like throttle body mounting and cable, aac mounting etc etc pretty sure just jap sell them
  5. sounds bad to me....the first 1000klm of any motor are the most likely time for it to fail. i'd suggest getting a good mechanical oil pressure gauge on there to check what is happening, but don't drive it anywhere or run it. most likely a bearing clearance problem, assembly mistake, not cleaned properly or some oil pump failure. I hope that you had a single mechanic responsible for the whole build, because getting warranty on engine builds can be tricky
  6. good work, I'd love to know where you found the original stuff....I'll be trying to do similar in a year or 2. re the strut brace, that is not the stock (factory option) one. It was red steel. like this: (I've been waiting years to post that one) re the exhaust, standard was actually 70mm (2.75"). No idea where you will find one in good condition, although I am pretty sure I have one in bad condition....not handy for you though
  7. sorry, yes it was straight bolt on (32 gtr kit on a c34 stagea). for m35 I would suggest the 350z kit because the offset will be better for m series (but I guess either will work)
  8. I've got 330mm under 17s. very tight fit but it depends on the wheel design as to how close it will be. once you add up brand new pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines, the chinese kits are outstanding value. and they don't just look serious, they are...I ran 330mm g4s at targa tasmania on my gtr without any problems.
  9. I think the brembos are terrible for the price. personally I run the g4/d2/ksport etc 330m rotors and they are absolutely unbeatable for the price....I have them on the race car, the stagea and the 350z....
  10. not just what, but where? Is there any chance of an air leak near the wideband sensor? can you see the output of the normal sensor, how many volts is it showing?
  11. well....that is a different story. If you really want to learn to drive (or at least get 100% from the car's capability) sell the liner and buy an under 2l IPRA car. No better way to learn the value of accurate car placement and mid corner speed. The sort of car that when you mash the throttle nothing happens seriously though....learning to use all of the car's ability is about seat time (mostly) and instruction (often). spending money on the motor or time in the garage will give you neither unfortunately...shame because that's all I ever do too.....
  12. Harry that video is a spectacular find! I love the guy sitting 1m from the exit at suttons corner...and the guys standing on the infield next to the straight. Things sure have changed. Would love to see the original course layout if anyone know is...clearly the original layout was not what we called the "GP" circuit. I can't work it out, looks like there was a bridge over a creek before the last turn (the "lake" remainined in the middle but everything else was removed) but does that mean the flip flop was different?
  13. I guess having wheels at the centre of the car would reduce bearing load most, and having them hanging out would increase it the most....but perhaps the handling would suffer basically the extra load is just from the extra track width and the extra grip it brings...no magic to it. having hubcentric wheels is really important for track use. It is easy to get hold of plastic locating rings once you have the hub diameter and wheel's inner diameter. Or like you said use the factory wheels 32/33/34 all locate correctly on the hub. With the current targa rules, r33 wheels are excellent for an r32
  14. 14:1 if the 02 sensors are working once the engine is warm
  15. yeah stagea for sure.....lot of car for the money....
  16. sounds fair....give it a go and report back in 15 years which ones failed first
  17. nope....you want the breather because as it gets hot the fluid expands...when it cools it should run back to the gearbox. one option I have seen is to extend the breather further and give it a little catch can up near the brake booster - I have a setup like this on the rear but am still using stock at the front make sure it is not overfull, but in my experience smurf blood breathes a fair bit when hot
  18. good work, that is getting around there very quick. Its amazing how many high powered gtrs are out there and don't get to stretch their legs properly on the track I would never expect to do much about the left front at EC with a heavy car - no matter what you do it will chew the tyre out. just have a new set ready for super lap, and rotate front to rear during the weekend.
  19. careful with the grease used, it must tolerate petrol. pulled my fuel rail off the other day and the injectors were siezed in place, the grease had broken down. next time just wd40 for me
  20. thanks mate....got a spare motor just need to bolt it together...
  21. see....that shut everyone up.... the problem is that cars without turbos are gay. see the issue?
  22. lol so true. I've worn out a set tho. BTW nitto make them nice and cheap. all of them look pretty much the same to me.
  23. for street and light track use 2-2.5 sounds about right. is it at the ride height you are after? for more specific ideas we need to know what springs, shocks, sway bars, tyres, car weight and specific use of the car. but more than 2.5o for street use will start to chew out tyres too quickly.
  24. shannons was cheapest for me too. the cheap aon prices were a mistake....mine went up 150% as well on renewal....hope everyone checked the price before forking over renewal!
