I agree with rb ryan! the top of the strut/shock takes sfa force in a double wishbone setup like skyline compared to say a silvia with strut front suspension. the force is on the inner end of the upper and lower control arm which are not really braced by a strut brace. btw also gtrs did not come with a strut bar, except n1.

OK I think the point about people's past experience with these wheels has been clearly made. No need to continue with that, or the personal attacks attached. No-one has been banned (yet), so just consider this a warning.

yep, everyone is welcome on the cruise, passengers included, as long as you stick to road rules. Lunch spots at the pub are only guaranteed if you pay the deposit suggest you got to windsor where the meetup is instead

sorry I'm having a bad night communicating (maybe its the grog?)....the $20 is a deposit against your lunch....we will hold it, make a booking based on the number of deposits received in our account by thursday 22/10. We will pay the deposit against the cost of your lunch....so yes in your example you only pay $2. this cruise is about making money for the RSPCA, nto the club. We are just making sure we are not overbooked for lunch

OK, sorry for the break, we have had an unprecedented umber of people interested in the cruise. Which is great....but also makes it harder for us to organise. So, 2 things: 1/ This cruise is being run by SAU NSW Inc (the club) and under a CAMS permit. We looked into making this a members only event due to the possibility of silly behaviour. We have decided not to do so for this year. We will have manageable groups of cars with an SAU exec at the front and rear of each group. The lead car will stay at or under the speed limit all the way. If you pass the lead car you are no longer taking part in the cruise, your details will be recorded and you will not be welcome at future SAU events. Same if you do anything silly, we cannot risk loosing CAMS' backing in running these events. We will happily report dickheads to the police, imports already have a bad enough reputation. 2/ The place we normally go for lunch has only 50 seats available. We will make a booking Thursday afternoon for every person we have received a deposit from. If you do not deposit, or it is received after that you will have to make your own lunch arrangements elsewhere in singleton. There are plenty of other options to choose from. Details for lunch deposits are: Account Name: Skylines Australia NSW Bank: NAB BSB: 082356 Account Number: 546393766 Amount: $20 per person Remember your payment will take at least 24 hours to come through, so do not delay if you want a lunch booking. We're all really looking forward to this cruise, its going to be great! Just stay home, or head up there some other day if you are not willing to stick to the behaviour rules above. Finally, please remember this is a charity cruise for the RSPCA...some bring along a gold coin or similar to donate to a great cause! Last year we raised almost $500 for the cancer council.

I've got absolutely no issue with n1 blocks being manufactured in china, in fact I would very much welcome it. nissan has not been casting n1 blocks for at least 5 years and globally all old stock has pretty much disappeared. If Nissan is going not going to supply new blocks where will we get them from? Good luck to anyone that has gone to the effort of casting them, I'll take 5.

well...he's not really running the workshop full time any more, its more for long term projects. Hopefully the number will still get through, otherwise maybe drop by one weekend

As you all know, Oran Park is soon to disappear for ever. The club I race with in the NSW champs, the Street Sedan Racing Association, have got together with Rotary to run a hot laps for charity day this Sunday, 18/10. For $150 you get 3 hot laps around Oran Park in my Production Race Car (or another if you prefer ). As Matt can tell you from last weekend, hot laps in the skyline are great fun, especially if you don't want to drive yourself. Or a great present for someone who may never have thought about going to the race track! Proceeds from the day will go to RYDA http://www.ryda.org.au who provide driver education and safety awareness for school aged kids. I reckon the category is the problem not the telecast. the racing is just rubbish and spreading it over 8 hours makes it worse. But hey, its the biggest race of the year in aus....and I don't mind spending all day in front of the tv drinking beer all and the rookies each year guarantee some crashes.

not yet, no rush atm....but its good to know options when we're ready to go
