    Carzon alarm

You tried contacting the Carzon business owner in Dandenong? My unit was only installed this year inc an alarm. I'll pm his number if you want it. Cheers
  2. Didn't see "the rules" .... I've added pricing for the separate parts. The car's another story I'll post it elsewhere. please delete this thread.

  6. My last R33 was a 1994 model , so I've only got that to go off.
  7. Thanks for the self fix info but I'll leave it to someone that knows how to replace the airbags as it's a tad complex for me and I'd prefer it done by someone like my mechanic. Getting an air bag guy out to plug into the car and check the airbag computer error's to see exactly what needs replacing before buying anything. Will end up buying an entire dash / airbags from another S2 then get my mechanic to fit it. 40th Anniversary model is great to drive, you musta gotta dud. Midnight Purple sealed the deal for me.
  8. Well I bloody hope so that's the case because Nissan advised they don't supply that part anymore. R.I.P genuine crash sensor. I did note they are willing to sell you new airbags for ridiculous $$$, weird but that might be because you don't need that little annoying sensor that deploys the airbags under 30 km's MVA's. Besides the airbags caused more harm than help in my case. Maybe there's a generic part available otherwise I'm up shit creek. Or just pillage an entire dash & bags from another 97 S2. Buying a 40th Anniversary model can be a pain looking for parts. People go on about mainly cosmetics but there is way more differences, some from R34 eg stock rims are the stock R34 style, injectors upgraded/moved, seat belt holders, interior stitching, badging, rear wing tail light, turbo has a nylon compressor wheel, not to mention bonnet/ headlights over all look is sharper. Also midnight purple isn't easy to match buying second hand.. Pre accident the car had more torque and very responsive gearbox. Much more guts than my old 1994. Actually had to tone down as the rear end liked to swing out , was fun to drive.
  9. I plan to sell the entire wreck if I can't fix it myself or it becomes a headache. Still got a good solid engine with only 96,000kms on the clock and gear box to match, rest of the car was mint pre accident hence why I'm trying to fix it up. There is no time limit here as I have another car moreso a project. I was thinking of buying another entire car and pillaging parts off mine, just haven't found anything that matches my 40th Anniversary model, not many around . Has anyone ever seen a Crash Sensor or selling one?
  10. Just spoke to Nissan. Apparently if you want to replace the old airbags with secondhand/salvage one's they must be "stamped" OK from someone who's qualified in testing the airbags. You won't pass a roadworthy if the second hand one's are not tested. So leaving these off my second hand shopping list for now. Will find a proper airbag repairer to source/do all the work after the rest of the car is up and running
  11. No bloody idea how to remove the stuffed airbags. Passenger bag casing won't re-close. Not sure how to dismantle the centre section of the driver's airbag. If I remove it, will I be able to drive the car?
  12. Ripped off the front bar and under guards today. Gonna need to get the chassis looked at on one side. Nothing twisted underneath at all, both front side quarter panels are straight not buckled, nothing wrong with steering, no engine or gearbox leaks. Engine reinforced assembly bar is rooted, gonna need an angle grinder to get the last bolt on each side off. Can't get to anything else til its off as it's pushed everything on the rad support to the engine's timing case. Radiator is stuffed, top tank cracked so no hope there. Passenger airbag won't close so I may need a dash if this is true, not sure how to dismantle the airbags. SB98U97Y071097 passenger air bag Driver's airbag RB761978251031C Want to make sure the chassis is fully repairable before going any further at this point.
  13. Bummer, yep I think from what I can see passenger airbag could have caused some damage, drivers one tore through the steering wheel centre section. No idea if it will turn over if I dismantle the centre section from the steering wheel. Either way the dash has to come out to repair the passenger airbag I've been told.
  14. Cheers Just placed an ad in the wanted to buy section. Only got the car home yesterday, gonna rip apart the front and go through the parts required. Will try to buy an entire dash I think. Battery is dead from sitting untouched for a month, should i just disconnect it whilst I'm taking the front apart? Was thinking of recharging it.
  15. Bonnet & hinges Both headlights Front Bar & support Front bar fog lights both sides Rad Support Radiator (suit automatic ), Radiator Fan, schroud, cooling fan Air con condenser Probably more items required, don't know the names of other items around the rad support / bonnet section but would prefer to buy front section but open to all options. Possibly crash sensor & crash CPU and driver's side & passenger airbags / seat belts. Prob best to buy entire dash but want above items first. MUST BE SERIES II & MATCH - AUTOMATIC. ........it's a 1997 40th Anniversary Series II model so not sure if there was anything different styling. Photos pre and post accident to see if the parts you have match PM me if anyone can help out Cheers
  16. Thanks Heaps! Car WAS an economical write-off so not a complete Stat Write Off luckily. How do you know though that you have the correct second hand airbags / clock springs etc? Are there specific serial numbers? I just spoke to one guy in NSW and he said when you use second hand parts you have to program them into the CPU also. But until they dial into the CPU the full diagnosis can't be determined... I reckon the crash sensor is a given too seemingly the damage at the front. Don't even know what it looks like OR where it's located? I found a guy who will quote to repair but he wants the other damage repaired first which makes sense. Sourcing other parts as we speak...bonnet, headlights, front bar, fog lights, radiator, radiator fan schroud, radiator condenser, windscreen....etc etc It's gonna be a slow rebuild.
  17. My car was in an accident recently, took a punt in front. 1997 GTS-T Series II automatic. Both driver's and passengers aibags deployed. What part's do I need to require to fix this shit-suation? Can you use second hand parts? Should I leave my battery disconnected until they're fixed? Basically the proceedures to repair the car....? Or can anyone recommend a good repairer in Melbourne? I figure the ECU will require some sort of resetting procedure? Nissan Genuine prices are outrageous. Just trying to cost up the repair atm
  18. I get my car back tomorrow from the insurance company.!!! Yay! Considering a slow rebuild or possibly selling. Its a 1997 Nissan Skyline R33 GTST 40th Anniversary Model Midnight Purple Only 98,000kms on the clock - Engine had just had a service pre-accident and had the timing belt, water pump and bearings replaced. (have all the receipts for the work done on the car) Automatic - Gearbox was A1 post MVA Completely stock, according to my mechanic who checked the computer. (his quote "a virgin") I have ALL the original Importation papers and the car was only registered 3 mths ago for the first time in Australia, so I am the first Australian Owner. Also have the Japanese auction report paperwork, compliance certificate. Original Radio Cassette, Ash Tray Has an alarm and GPS tracking system installed. (Have receipts) Rims with tyres with 95% tread. Paint Good - Panels were ALL A1 until MVA Stock 40th Anniversary Rear Wing with brake light Pistol Grip gear knob - stock 40th Anniversary. Upgraded injectors I believe in the 40th Anniversary model Air-Con / Heater were working A1 pre accident. Not interested in any stupid offers if I decide to sell the wreck. Not parting out, sells as a whole at this point and that's if I decide to sell. Pre AND Post Accident photo's attached
  19. Was just looking to find a decent specimen to pillage to fix my damaged R33. Series II 1997 40th Anniversary automatic. Looking for front section, bonnet & dash/airbags. Want to restore it over time. Been investigating options. Otherwise I'll just sell the wreck or auction it out.
  20. Yeah noted that afterwards too. Aftermarket radiator with no radiator fan behind it like my old 1997 R33. Just sounds messy all round and passed all round. They definitely haven't raced it, just a young couple probably didn't know what they got themselves into.
  21. They only bought it two months ago off Gumtree from some guy. Guy was gonna do it up but now needs the money. (project car I think) His girlfriend owned the car. They didn't know too much about the history. They were throwing in a unfinished/ unpainted GTR front bar and rear bar & big subwoofer in the boot which took up all the space in the boot . Rear wing had been removed but they still had it. Think the thing that turned me off was a corner of the bonnet near the RH front quarter near the screen was damaged slightly, sort of buckled which suggested it may have taken a punt previously. He said he had a previous roadworthy but lost it "apparently" doubt he was telling the truth. ALL tyres also needed replacing Timing Belt hadn't been replaced yet either. Definitely running weird with the battery light flickering when it was missing. He said it needed a new battery. Sat and waited for the car to reach temp and it didn't over heat or anything whilst the heater was on and the aircon worked fine. They were asking $3,000 which I reckon was too much More of a money pit than worth it. Soo many used car sellers won't sell with valid roadworthy's which is annoying.
  22. Hi Was looking at buying an R33 automatic skyline and there were a few suspect thing's i couldn't figure out. Dash had battery light continually flashing on/off. Car was missing intermittently I'm assuming due to a bad battery. Car also had a quite loud noise as the aircon locked in..... Someone hadn't fixed the gearbox handle, cable's hanging out. Power Steering leaking - not sure how much this costs to repair? One of the belts on the front of the engine had been fitted incorrectly, lip hanging slightly over the pully. Plus looks like the silver part above the engine looked like it had been replaced. .... Think it required a new tachometer as was faulty which I think would be costly? Temp gauge ok, was rev gauge suspect. Turbo timer switch also installed Car ran fine, no over heating, nothing leaking. Bit wary though might be too costly getting a roadworthy. .... Dodgy?
  23. I know your pain mate. My car was written off 4 weeks ago also. All I know from experience is that your stuffed once the airbags deploy. Min $3000 fix before panel work is quoted. Insurance will write off on spot almost. Gal Smash repairs in Tullamarine are good. I went to quote my wreck to be fixed but it worked out more than the cars worth. The guy there was really nice and gave an honest advice.
  24. The car isn't a write off apparently. Was just repossessed, bank's own the car now apparently so I reckon they'll be after the highest bid they can get seemingly it owes more than it's worth. No idea what happened to the front bar, maybe it got damaged when it was repo'd.....
