The New Official S A U - N S W Spotted Thread

White 32R vspec - Sutherland Shire. Beeped my horn and waved :-) -
Having it on a timer is a brilliant idea. Might give that a go. The charger i got is: http://www.jaycar.com.au/PRODUCTS/Power-Products-Electrical/Charging/SLA-GEL-Chargers/6V-%26-12V-Heavy-Duty-8A-Car-Battery-Charger-with-Trickle-Charge/p/MB3522 I guess my main issue is that the car is kept in a downstairs garage (unit block) and I don't want to come home to an inferno. I understand that most batteries when on charge can emit gasses, which could cause a fire. If anyone has seen the battery location on a 34R, it's an enclosed, tight space with a tonne of carpet surrounding metal

I don't think this topic has been discussed much at all on SAU. I know a few people on SAU use trickle chargers. This will be a first for me. I bought myself a Trickle charger from Jaycar, but have been given advice that I need to disconnect the battery from the car so that I don't ruin the Alternator or other electronics if there is a current surge from 240V. A few questions I have. 1. Owning an R34 GTR, where the battery in the boot, it's not very well ventilated. Are people removing their batteries from the car? Kind of defeats the purpose of a quick solution. 2. The car only gets taken out on weekends. Am i better off simply disconnecting the -ve terminal for the week? Have i wasted my $$$ on the charger? What other tips do people have when using a Trickle charger?

Must Watch......

Imagine when the US are allowed to import the 34R. -
They will fit, however the 34 front pies are about an inch longer to the cat, so your exhaust out the rear bumper will stick out that extra inch. Which isn't too bad.

Getting A 30k Loan For A Daily. Good/bad Idea?
djvoodoo replied to sleptema's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'd question the 30K for a daily. There are plenty of mid/late 2000 vehicles available for 15-20k. A few that come to mind. V35 sedans Lexus IS200 (and some newer 250's) Mazda 3/6 etc Plenty of nice E90 3 series BMW's for sale under 20K MY07-10 Impreza etc You dont need 30K :-) -
For Those Who Have Done The "twin Turbo" Pipe Mod
djvoodoo replied to djvoodoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Turns out I overtightened the bolt to the front Turbo housing and it snapped..... Anyone got a spare?? -
I have read the many forums about the pro's of doing this mod, so I bought myself a spare pipe from Ebay and had the divider put in. Does it feel any different? Not sure. The weather is cold so it's very responsive anyway at the moment.... Might be placebo effect but it feels more punchy from 2-3.5K. On boost feels the same. My question is: Did you notice the turbo spool noise inside the cabin become more pronounced? I noticed that the turbo's "sound" quite different inside the cabin. Slightly more whiney/whizzy i suppose.

Equal Length Front Pipe Made In Sydney?
djvoodoo replied to mr skidz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Isn't equal length meant to help make exhaust gasses exit smoother rather than colliding at the Y piece? Also, it's for that Mines sound :-) My Fujitsubo equal length front pipe sounds amazing, and helped with response down low, but has the worst ground clearance.... -
Dont think insurance would cover that either..... Keys in and doors unlocked..........

I could have 1 million followers on any social media platform... You can easily "buy" followers..... That's what most of em do I hate Gen Y sometimes... Anyway, I've just realised I've been arguing with a 17 yr old kid... How awesome am I lol
-
I was going to leave this one, but i just can't... Ok Mr Bill Gates, who earns 3 times as much as me. Put down 52K and you can buy my GTR? I mean, you clearly earn more than I do.... The point of my original post was to bring you down a peg. You are only 17, you don't have enough real world experience to 'claim' this awesome driving skill (I don't care if you have been driving since 13, plus it's illegal..... I'm guessing you grew up on a farm or drove Go Karts) and it's this attitude that is the reason why P platers get such a bad rap. Anyway, go buy your 34 mate.
-
You're getting your P's next March, which by assumption makes you 16, 17, mabee 18??? And you 'think' you are a good driver??? really???? It's that cocky attitude that will get you killed............ Mate i'm prob twice your age and still learn new things on the road everyday. Read the below... you are not invincible. http://www.9news.com.au/national/2015/04/24/12/39/unaccompanied-teen-learner-driver-crashes-into-sydney-home

R32 Gtr Front Pipes Fit R34 Gtr?
djvoodoo replied to TwinTurboSupra+R32 Gtst's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
They fit fine, but are about 2 inches shorter than the 34 pipes, meaning you need to pull the exhaust from the cat 'towards' the front pipe, -
A little cocky don't you think?

R34 Gtr Vspec Question
djvoodoo replied to TwinTurboSupra+R32 Gtst's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Pretty normal. Mine does it, and about 11ty + R34 GTr's did they same thing when I was at a GTR meet last year. I think it's the Getrag plus dual mass flywheel???
