Rather than start a new thread... I have both ZSS rear traction rods and camber arms (hardened rubber) on the 34. Anyone got their own stories/feedback on them? I've only had them on for a month or so now.

GTX3076R GEN II VS GTX3576R GEN II on RB26

Prob needs a different thread, but has anyone ran a G35-900 on an RB yet? -

I was a click away from buying a GTX3582 gen 2, but glad i spoke with you before purchasing. 3576 is exactly the power band, response and drivability i was after in a street car in the 400-450kw range. -

GTX3076R GEN II VS GTX3576R GEN II on RB26
djvoodoo replied to joe89's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Coming from -9's with all the fruit... Single FTW - It rips! More power everywhere. Transient response is insane, zero lag between gear shifts, and that's with Kelford 272 long duration cams too! Even on 98 pump fuel which is about 365kw @20psi it still shits all over the twin -9's. And the GTX noise is just magic, it's like a HKS T51 ? -
GTX3076R GEN II VS GTX3576R GEN II on RB26
djvoodoo replied to joe89's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Here's some info for you guys wondering about the GTX3576R gen 2 on a stock bottom end RB26 (Head refreshed). Mine is single scroll, T3 with .82 housing. Running 272 cams. Made 440kw on E85 - roughly 25 psi or so. Full boost according to tuner is at around 3800-3900 rpm and pulls all the way to redline of 8100rpm. -
Genuine HKS GTSS turbos for Rb26 as the ID plate is G17200-N48020 not GT2859(60). 1 bar Garrett actuators. I bought these from Jesse Streeter around 2016. Have been on the car until early this year. Good condition, very minimal shaft play. Made 20psi on pump 98 a tad under 4000rpm. $1300 Pickup Sydney. PM for details.

Selling some stuff as Im going Single turbo. Garrett GT2560 -5 turbos (yes they are -5, i have measured the comp and exhaust wheels and spoken with Garrett) Good condition, minimal shaft play. $1200 Stock R34 GTR fuel rail with SARD 700cc injectors and Aeroflow fitting. $350 Twin Turbo pipe with divider welded in and MAP sensor bung. $75 Pick up Sutherland Shire

Yes, case in point. $35,000 for this!!!
-
Yep, sorry i may have had a hand in de-railing.
-
My better result reference was more around proper boost control, but i mean - He's built a 2.8 Stroked RB26 with Vcam on an R34 GTR.. Go the ECU with the safety features that saves engines man.
-
Not about power mate. It's about reliability and tuning resolution. Tell me a Power FC that does inbuilt Knock control and can retard timing etc or can put a car in safe mode if a certain limit is reached. Show me a Power FC that can do motorsport launch control or add multiple external inputs such as additional engine protection sensors, Wideband sensors, CAN Bus displays etc. All the Power FC does is "blink" the engine warning light...
-
Sorry bro, i just don't really understand the reasoning to spend 5-6K on Vcam and a 2.8 stroker, only to use a $30 bleed valve and a Power FC. You could get much more better results by doing it right - Halaltech/ Motoec/ Link -Whatever and ECU boost control
-
But it's not hitting 20 psi at 117. Your graph shows more like 18 psi. 20psi prob happens another 150 rpm later, and considering it's in 5th there is more load on the motor. Im guessing your wastegates on -9's are 1bar adjustable actuators. Why not just wind in some preload into them?
-
Why would you not get an electronic boost controller or use ECU boost control if going all out on Vcam and a stroker? You spend 15-20K on the engine but not an extra $500 on a good boost controller? I had an unopened Rb26 with -9's and was making 20.5 psi by 100km/h on pump 98 (3970 rpm on a 34R). Your boost curve look s like a -5 turbo on a standard 2.6 without E85.
-
Yes, the modifications beforehand should be to take the turbo off, grind the compressor blades off using a Dremel, then re-install the turbo.

Tried searching, but didn't find much..... How do you read a hub dyno vs a roller dyno, specifically rpm vs power vs boost. Im accustomed to a roller dyno where i can either see road speed and power or rpm vs power/ boost etc, but hubs read very differently? Example attached. How do you covert this to a more traditional figure?

Did i buy -5 turbos or Garrett N1 equivalents- Confused
djvoodoo replied to djvoodoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
For anyone wondering, did a bunch of searching around these GT2560R's. They do look like the larger 34N1 equivalent with the .60 comp housing. So not as big as -5 or HKS2530, almost an in between between -9 and -5? Some people say Garret just rebranded and changed to 2860 instead of 2560, some say it's a difference between OEM vs aftermarket. Found an old comp/turbine map someone posted on SAU back in 2013. I have -9's currently, and here's hoping these will outperform in overall power with similar response to -9s... (looking for 360kw on 98 on a built motor with 9.0.1 comp) -

Didn't a version of the 34 N1 also have a .60 housing as well though? -
In the process of having my engine built (Rb26 on a GTR) - Forged Pistons rods etc, and with 9.0.1 compression. Bought what i though was -5 turbos, but now re-looking at the tag Im not so sure? The Tag is GT2560R 707160-5 Comp housing is stamped with .60, rear is the normal .64 I've heard that the GT2560R is the re-tagged GT2860, but also appears to say that a 2560R is a Garrett equivalent 14411-AA403 OR it could be a -7 GCG turbos have that tag ID as the -7 https://gcg.com.au/Turbo-Charger-GT2860R-AKA-7-Nissan-Skyline-GTR-RB26DETT-G836026-5004S.html?ref_cat_id=26 And the below site has the GT2560R as part of the Nissan "replacement" range. http://www.capa.com.au/prices_turbo.htm#turbo_garrett_medium_frame_ball_bearing Anyone have some knowledge on the old tag numbers?
