I've tried to search the forums but typing anything along with "exhaust" brings up way to many threads that cant give me an answer. Read a couple and its just got me more confused. Some threads saying cat's reduce kw, and other saying exhaust improves low end but less power high end. Just wanting to add an exhaust to my gts-t, hoping to reduce turbo lag. Not really after loudness. But if a good exhaust is a loud exhaust then itll have to go on. Just looking at this tuning guide that seems to be posted everywhere ( http://nissanskyline.6te.net/tuning_GTS25T.htm ) claims to add 20-30kw which seems a bit much. Anyways was just after some opinions on brands and systems. Do i go full system, follow the guide or is exhaust pointless. Cars stock and not really planning to mod it any more than an exhaust, if that.

Hey Ive just gona and bought a cheap sub and amp for a little bass. Installed it and tried my best to hide the wires. Now I would like to know how everyone's gone about mounting there sub and amp. Dont really wanna let it swing loose but I don't really know how i should mount them, I'm thinking of getting a piece of mdf and staple carpet over it and screw it all onto that. Any other suggestions?

The ticking stopped completely straight after I took it for a drive. Guessing the engine would of been a bit dry after the oil was drained out and the first 30 seconds of startup. I was just overcautious and turned the car off before taking it for a drive. Then took it out for a warm up and once the oil went through it stopped. No more ticking

It's going to be almost impossible to stop a young driver from driving stupidly. But the point of the retest is to get the bad drivers off the road who don't know the rules. The young driver would know they should be going 50 in a 50 zone. Although the amount of times I have heard someone say "I JUST passed the test by a few points" could make a difference to who passes and who doesn't. As for an elderly person they may have forgotten some of the rules. Some elderly drivers are afraid of driving there car 100km or even 80 on a highway, causing the fast overtaking from a lot of frustrated people which could lead to a crash.

wayyy better than the commodore haha

I was looking for ways to try make this jack fit under the car for a good 2 hours.Went looking at car ramps at autobarn, supercheap, repco bursons and tool shops but they were all too high for the front of the car. Then my brother came home and just put a scissor jack on the side and jacked the front lol. Duno how I didn't think of that

It ran really good on the Nissan oil before, so its hardly noticeable but the engine felt like it was working a tiny bit smoother. Probably just the car liking the cold night air lol. I'm not sure.
-
Yeah it was ticking while idling. But as soon as I reversed out of the driveway and drove down the street it stopped. All good now.
-
I reckon maybe retired 50+ should have to re-test. Been cut off so many times by an elderly person they don't even head check or indicate anymore, they just turn the wheel and hope for the best

8100 put in. Car runs very nicely
-
Hey ive just done my oil change, 8100 5-40 xcess put in. Oil levels ok. Use to run genuine nissan 7.5-30. Just turned it on and heard some ticking coming from engine. Doesnt go up with revs just a constant tick. Any ideas what this could be? -edit- took it for a drive with new oil and tickings gone. Overcautious of my car
-
Its done up nice and tight. Now i've just realised my car jacks about half a cm to high to fit under the front of my car. How are car ramps for oil changes? Seems much easier driving up some ramps compared to jacking the car up. Just not sure if theyd fit under the car either. Also cant find a good spot to jack the back of the car. Have i got the right spot for the front jack to go? For the back I just cant see a strong enough spot.

Weird lol. Looks like it could come undone anytime now. Thanks

Where can I find it this cheap Autobarn had a single bottle scratched up all over the bottom, had dust on it. looked at least 100 years old. the guy said it was a mistake order. $89...So i got the $79 8100 instead.

After checking where the sump plug was on my car (only owned it for a month) I noticed the transmission looks like its got a short bolt going through it. Not sure if this is normal, It doesn't look right. Anyone else s like this? The clutch has been changed so maybe they lost the propper screw and put this little one in. Or is this how its meant to be?

Theres both good and bad sides to the drift oil filters. But the bad always sways you more lol. Gonna use either the K&N or ryco instead for this change.
-
Just bought a drift oil filter for my oil change tomorrow. Kinda put me off putting it on now. Looked up some more posts off Google on other forums and people reporting problems with them also. Mite just go swap it with the ryco one at autobahn to stay on the safe side.
-
Just went and got some Motul 8100 as recomended by most members here, and a Drift oil filter over the ryco(no k&N in stock) Autobahn. Noticed its 5-40 and not the 10-40 that i was looking for in an oil. Will this be fine for street use? The current nissan oils only about 2500km old so I thought it would be a good idea to change it now while its still half ok and not too dirty for the 8100. Just taking extra precautions as this is my first oil change for this car

I've just bought mine about a month ago . I checked out quite a few places when looking for mine. Dealers prices were way above private sale. Ended up buying mine off a member from here. Not sure what state your from but in Vic It was hard to find a good one that was near stock. I looked at around 12 I think in total for private sale. Found problems with almost every one. Then found this one and so far its perfect . Just take your time, dont rush into buying one straight away.
-
Lol might chuck on a pair of gloves for this service then If i cant find the sougi i'll put in the 8100. Yeah i remember seeing some of the drift and k&n ones at autobahn for pretty cheap when i got the panel filter. Thanks for your help.

Couldn't sony make an update to stop it from working?
-
Hmm. Would you suggest I run the m5000 for the first change then run the 8100 after, or just go straight from my Nissan oil 7.5-30 to the 8100?
