Hey All, Just wondering if anyone owns or has applied for a registration exemption. "A person who will only use the vehicle for designated motorsport activities may also apply for an exemption." --> See RTA Link HERE If you have, can you please tell me what was the process or conditions? I am trying to make a decision wether or not to sell my car or keep it as a dedicated track car. Cheers.

You know the worsed thing about it is that unless Best Motoring or Hot Version come back and makes a special edition episode, we wont see Keiichi Tsuchiya driving hard through the touge. There's really no other show out there that will compare cars like their "Touge Showdown"... If there is let me know!

Yup Newton did a service. Said the oil was badly contaminated with fuel so did an oil & filter change. -
Bought A Lemon - Help - Who Knows The Lemon Law?
Bourbon Boy replied to Bourbon Boy's topic in New South Wales
Just an update guys. Took the car to Newton Automotives (Blacktown, Sunnyholt Road). Really happy with their service and recommend them . They actually troubleshooted the problem instead of assuming like those idiots at the Warranty place (I'd name and shame them but dont know if I'll be breaking any forum rules if I do??). There was nothing wrong with the engine. It was the computer playing up. Was leaving two of the injectors open causing a flood in the engine. Replaced the chip and presto. Working as new. Fan-freaken-tastic. Cost me less than $500 to fix instead of $1800 ++labour +gst +bad service for a new engine that wouldnt have fixed the problem anyways. Seriously, I wonder how some people are still in business with such bad service. Anyways, all sorted. Thanks for all the help & advice though... much appreciated. -
Bought A Lemon - Help - Who Knows The Lemon Law?
Bourbon Boy replied to Bourbon Boy's topic in New South Wales
Just trying to get that second opinion... having a hard time finding a mechanic that will do me a written assesment report in case they have to go to court and have to take time off. Called NRMA, and they're good to do it but they only do an external examination (no dismantling) report for $299. Ouch. Thanks Luke will check the Vac Line thinga-ma-jig tonight. lol I'll work it out. So hopefully you're right. Hey ASPS91, where can I apply? Whats the process? Have you been in this situation before? -
Bought A Lemon - Help - Who Knows The Lemon Law?
Bourbon Boy replied to Bourbon Boy's topic in New South Wales
Thanks for the feedback fellas... As for your questions, its a good ol Camery. Dont know how long its been sitting in the yard but like I said, I took it for a looong test drive and nothing noticable indicated bad fuel in the mix. Speaking of fuel, I filled it up 12 litres to get it to the warranty place. To put it in perspective, Its blowing smoke filled with fuel so badly that it ran out of petrol when I got there. The trip to the warranty place according to google maps was 13km. As much as it hurts, I got to LOL that shit. Thanks Terry, will check out the Traffic Lawyers today. Its been just over a week (11 days) and I've honestly driven the car 3 times. Dealer to home. Home to warranty place. Warranty place to home. I am trying to act as quickly as I can, but I had to wait almost a week before the warranty place could fit me in their schedule. Now that I know their intension (engine replacement\rebuild), I will get a second opinion in writing and then take that up with the dealer again in writing. If it still doesnt resolve it, Hello ACCC. -
Hope someone can help me out here... I was just after a home to station and back car. Didnt care about looks just function. I checked it out as best as I can (not a mechanic), found it a bit under powered but didnt care (old car), no oil leaks, no bad idling, no shaking, starts first time every time (still does), all electricals were good, took a loooong test drive, engine oil didnt look to be milky, no smoke, no smell (AT THE TIME). Dealer gave me a 1 year warranty from external company... Bought it... what a sucker... Literally with no exaggeration, that same night the car started blowing lots of white (not blue) smoke with a heavy smell of petrol. Called the dealer, redirected me to the warranty place... fair enough, so I tried to do the right thing and go to the warranty place but they're already talking about an engine rebuild or replacement and the warranty only covers a fraction of the price of that. Dealer and his mechanically A1 "promise" should take resposibility for false advertising but of course... he wont. Anyone had any experience with Fair Trading and or enforcing the Lemon Law on a bad buy like this? Any feed back and advice would be great. Thanks.

Early 2012 Meet'n Greet/cruise
Bourbon Boy replied to Howaitonaito's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hopefully I can go to this... Will depend on the date for me. Any chance we can turn this into a V - Z track day at Wakie or somehting?! Would give us all a chance to meet and greet and to go above & beyond "spirited" driving on public roads without the cops. Plus I'd LOVE to see which set up can crack the best time. -
YES Guys, thats what I meant! I guess sonicii is right... its just my way of putting it. Sorry my England not so good... lol.
-
Yes, your right... And so am I. Oil Viscosity deteriorates the higher the temperature. So the higher value of the 2nd number, the better the viscosity is of that oil at 100 degrees. Sorry, maybe I went into to it too much. lol

+1 for Nick... Cant beat his prices. And the Mobile EP models he sells dont even exist here in Aust. In Australian weather unless you live up in the snowy mountains, the first indicator number 5W or 10W is probably the least of your worries. It wont make much of a difference although I would stick with Nissans reccomendation of 5W-30. You should pay attention to the second number because this will indicate the threshold (or close to) of what temperature the oils viscosity starts to break down. So if you drive your car hard, then go with the 10W-40 (or higher) as it would be a tougher oil. But this doesnt necessarily mean its better for your engine as thicker oils obviously doesnt flow\move as quick as thinner ones which the VQ35 might need hence Nissans recommendation of 5W-30.

How is it not? Ever approach a corner at high speed and find out your brakes are spongy? Scary shit.
-
I agree with both Ni5m0 & Greame... Sway bars front & rear, strut bars front & rear, braided brake lines to improve handling & plenum spacer for a bit of HP sauce. Might be a little over $1500 if you're installing yourself but will guess it'll be above $2k if you get it installed.

Tips For A Baby Seat And Pram To Fit 350Gt
Bourbon Boy replied to shiva's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
First of all Congrats... we just had a Baby Boy 5 months ago. Best thing ever!... but get your sleep! haha I took my back seat out of mine so I can't help you there. I know you've probably already considered this but just a warning, putting a baby seat at the back of a coupe is obviously not as safe in regards to an emergency. Also you have to consider the position of the air bag in the rear. I spotted a warning sticker somewhere there when I was first considering putting a baby seat at the back seat as well. It was in Japanese but from what I gather, if the airbag goes off, the impact of it hitting your newly born may be harsh. Don't want to scare ya but its good to know. +1 for hiring a babyseat\capsule. Cheaper option for the 1st 6 months because you'll end up replacing it for a bigger one anyways. +1 for importing the mother\dad\brother-in-law or anyone really for help! Also regarding a lifted seat for your Mrs to make it easy for her getting in and out of the car, I bought a Tummy Sheild for her. It'll lift her up a tiny bit and protect her tummy and your baby. Check it out: http://www.tummyshield.com.au/default.php -
Yup... that's what I look for. If there's lots of Asians in an Asian restaurant. Then it must be good . A good indicator. Hasnt failed me yet.

Fs: Hks Single Turbo Kit
Bourbon Boy replied to Cobey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Nice... I track my car about once a year. All NA at the moment so keeps going and going but makes me happy to hear your stock internals is solid enough for FI and track once a month. Lots of inspiration for me! -

Bourbon Boy replied to Cobey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey Aaron, I'm curious how long you've had the kit on yours on stock internals?? I've always wanted to go FI but i've always had doubts on doing it on stock internals because of reliability. So is it reliable? Any problems? I know keeping a low boost keeps it safe but how safe is safe?
