  1. Yes... What Floyd said! Hope you can make it! Got to let me know SOON! Thanks!
  2. I agree... in some situations, it's safer to accelerate than to brake. If a semi-trailer was up your ass and the traffic lights turn yellow. Should I??? -- Speed up and risk a $$dolla dolla fine or brake and get rear ended and crushed? Honestly? Come on... It's like the people in charge of dreaming up these rules are rich mofos that have never driven in real life everyday traffic conditions because they're too busy sipping champange in the back seat of their chauffeur driven limos. I reckon these things should come with video footage of the person speeding so to analyse the situation and not just by the persons speed alone.
  3. Wouldn't it make more sense to fix your fuel gauge problem? Our cars have a 76 Litre tank... in my post yesterday: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fu...on-t327122.html With my current Tyre\Rim setup, On a full tank I average about 11 Litres per 100km when I am cruising on normal roads (no freeway driving). If you do the maths, on a 76 litre tank I can expect to get about 690km per tank... again this is not Freeway driving. Hope this helps.
  4. I used to own a Corolla with the same problem. I think the coldness dries out (or freezes) the belts. A bit of WD40 did the trick for me... I bit of a spray (DO NOT soak it) in each side of the belts where it connects to the pulleys.
  5. Yeah True... I only put the stockies 18's back on so I can save my good tyres on the 19's for the track day we're organising... We're looking for racers if you're interested? Check it out: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pr...-3-t324330.html And speaking of rim weight: The Stock 18" Rims with the tyres I specified above weigh 22kg's each. set=88kg Where as the 19" Rims set up I also mentioned above weigh 24.5kg's each. set=98kg When I wear out the tyres on the 18's I'll put semi slicks on them and use them as dedicated track tyres.
  6. The purpose was since it's such a big tank (76 Litres) it will hold a lot of weight when filled full. So half filling up helps with weight reduction which can help with fuel consumption. Good Point there... I never actually considered that. You've wrecked it for me! LOL Thats 76 litres dry... check out the attachment.
  7. You might think it's a bit over the top but this for me has been an 6 month study... Nerd I have a V35 2004 model Odometre reading = Under 60000km... - 76 Ltr fuel tank as should be everyones V35. Below are figures wearing the following shoes: Khumo Ecsta SPT REAR:275/35/R19 - Front: 245/35/R19 TANK: FULL Drive - Track - Consumption: N/A Drive - In a real Hurry - Consumption: 15 Litres per 100km Drive - Normal - Consumption: 13-14 Litres\100km (I normally drive hard ) Drive - Cruising - Consumption: 12-13 Litres\100km TANK: HALF Drive - Track - Consumption: N/A Drive - In a real Hurry - Consumption: 14-15 Litres per 100km Drive - Normal - Consumption: 13 Litres\100km Drive - Cruising - Consumption: 12 Litres\100km Below are figures wearing the following shoes: Maxis VIP Radial MA-V1 REAR:235/40/R18 - Front: 235/40/R18 TANK: FULL Drive - Track - Consumption: N/A Drive - In a real Hurry - Consumption: 13-14 Litres per 100km Drive - Normal - Consumption: 12-13 Litres\100km Drive - Cruising - Consumption: 11 Litres\100km TANK: HALF Drive - Track - Consumption: N/A Drive - In a real Hurry - Consumption: 12-13 Litres per 100km Drive - Normal - Consumption: 11 Litres\100km Drive - Cruising - Consumption: 10 Litres\100km Sorry to be Captian Obvious here: But as you can see weight, tyres (in this case size not brand) and driving style makes a big difference in fuel consumption. I don't expect anyones answers as detailed as these, but Im just curious to see what other peoples figures are for their V35... or even if anyone else cares. Cheers!
  8. This is a great idea. Would love to do a meet and greet...! Also for those who don't know, my friends and I are organising a track day on the Monday 6th of September: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pr...-3-t324330.html WOULD LOVE SOME V35, V36 and cousins 350Z REPRESENTATION! It's only me so far! Cheers!
  9. Hi Neil, sorry mate totally missed your post. Sorry dude... Yes I mean no Bikes. Man if you got a Radical, it would make mine and Im sure a lot of the other drivers day if you came along. Those things are RADICAL (sorry I couldnt resist). Two thumbs up.
  10. hehe I'll get you to throw some banana peels from your window. Thanks for the offer, i might have to consider it since they're running on full mods (engine, suspension & tyres) while Im running on almost stock. Im just relying on my skillz and hopefully their lack of... Yeah I want to post pics up but I just moved places so no interenet yet just accessing this site at work (yes Im bludging right now). I've got some cool gadgets for this track day that I want to show off and get advice on so I will post pics soon.
  11. All good mate. Ask as many questions you want: Ambulance is optional unless the session is timed and\or there are more that 20 cars attending. Then an Ambulance becomes mandatory... which will be an extra $600 for the whole day. So to lighten the cost of the session we opted not to have an Ambulance on standby... however, we will be organising a Track Marshal to help out and pull out any one who happens to accidentally visit the beach. But hopefully, it will be an incident free day. The only dramas I am expecting is having to hand over $50 to my mates if they get a faster laptime than me, which will NOT HAPPEN!! lol
  12. Anyone who is interested please PM me their name, email address or phone number and I will send through the bank details via email or SMS. I would PM you myself but the forum won't let me because Im a newbie...
  13. Yeah... I hear ya. Im on the same boat but am squeezing the life out of my finances for this one day... I might be able to afford the petrol to drive home. Anyways you know where to find me if\when you get the funds. Just found out my mate recruited another Honda... COME ON NISSANS!
  14. Bone Stock Auto is all good with me... Like I said, it will be great to see another V35 on the track with me. We can see how the auto and manual compare with each other. Also I agree with Cass... I think if this is your first time, then you should just stick with your current brakes. But maybe check how new your pads are first. What most people do is do between 5-10 laps then head back in the pits and cool off. And because we are expecting 20 cars on the day, we will try to make it 10 cars or less on the track at any one session... so everyone will have to pull into the pits so others can get a turn (but we will work this out depending on how many cars we actually get confirmed for the day). You interested Cass? Doooo iiit! Any other 350GTs or Nissans out there interested??? Come on... so far the day will be dominated with little Hondas with only me and my mate with the Nissans. Come oooonn... REPRESENT to do battle!!
  15. By the way MBS206 (Matt) incase you're back on this thread, thanks for the PM (I Cant PM back) wish I knew about it before we paid the non-refundable deposit for Wakefield... but I will let my mates know about it. Thanks again.
  16. Nice Will... It'll be good to have another (or a few) 350GTs out there... I'll be running on almost stock with the exception of a custom cat-back exhaust from High-Tec and a set of good (not the best cause I can't afford it hehe) Kuhmo Tyres - 275/35/R19: Rears & 245/35/R19: Fronts (I think). I even took them off and put back the battered (not my fault) stockie rims+tyres(Maxis) to save the good Kuhmos. Full payment of the track must be paid 30 days before the event date and we can't pay the full amount without everyones deposits... So yeah, We need those deposits by 23rd of July! - Also Rain or Shine it will go ahead. Yup that's right. What Cassbo said... Wakefield license = $50
  17. Hi Everyone.... Im new to this forum and still working my way around. And I think I was too eager and posted this invitation (below) in the wrong place(S): http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pr...;]-t324212.html AND http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pr...-2-t324328.html Just a little background on me... 19. Ladies & Gents: Unleash the Beast in your Garage!... or just Unleash The STIG with-in... Date: Monday 6th of September 2010 – Apply for leave now! Type: Cars ONLY – All types welcome – Recruiting 20 cars MAX Place: Wakefield Park - http://wakefieldpark.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=37&Itemid=55 Price: $234 for the track $50 racing license fee (1 year rego) Spectators Free (but race passengers must sign in & wear appropriate protective clothing) Condition: MUST pay Full amount (non-refundable) by COB Friday 23rd July 2010 to lock in your place... Spots Limited. Important Note: The total track fee is fairly divided between the assumption that there will be 20 racers on the day. I know it seems harsh, but the fee is non-refundable because hiring a track is not cheap so we can't afford any back-outs. Also, the funds will be deposited to the Wakefield venue in FULL, 30 days before the date of the event. So once that's done there's no turning back... so please make sure if you say you're in, your IN FOR SURE. (will refund if event is cancelled) Other Notes: This is not a timed session, so you'll need a stop watch. Interested?? Need more Info?? Email Me & I'll send out more details... [email protected] Cheers, Mike FYI: I've also Posted this on G35driver.com so if you've seen it. Yes it's me...
