oh u were being serious about that?? are you meant to get something in gt5 on ur bday? i think birthday details are essential items when you sign up i.e it wont let you register without it.
-
relax.. gt5 servers been down for maintenance since late last night so no ones gettin anything lol

never really like the veyron tbh. sure it goes fast on the straights, but doesnt it get owned all day every day by virtually any other sports car around any sort of circuit? and was it beaten with an ugly stick or what?? whenever i see some rich celeb with one on tv all it says to me is "i cant drive for shit but i'm all about the wank factor". anyone share this view?

Dropping In And Out Of 5 Cylinders R34 4D
Spurdo replied to yesitshim's topic in General Maintenance
+1 for coils. if so then it'll just be one thats cutting in and out when it feels like it. you could buy (or just borrow) one good coil, then use it to replace each coil and keep swapping them over until problem goes away, then you've found the baddie. OR, this way is probably easier actually. leave your coil cover off, then when the fault happens, stop the car, lift the hood with the engine running and disconnect the plug on top of each coil. each one you unplug should stop one cylinder firing and you'll hear the engine sound even worse than it did before, plug it back in if so. try each coil until you find one that makes no difference i.e the engine will sound and run the same as it was. if you find that unplugging one particular coil has no effect on the running of the engine, then you've found your bad coil/cylinder. replace that coil with either a new one or one you know is good. go for a drive, if problem doesnt happen again, problem fixed. if it still happens, then its not the coil. not sure ecu would even have a fault code for a bad coil would it? -
i heard it was cos your a shit driver and wanted to save yourself the embarrassment. anyway, turns out i wont be there tonight. fuckin RL messin with my gaming time.

yea the lotus challenge was tricky, but yeah mads onto it. eventually you'll get to learn what pace you need to be at. if i remember correctly i think i was in 3rd place going into the 2nd lap and took 1st going around hammerhead. unless theres an AI car in front i still have a hard time finding gambon after that long straight, just cant see shit lol maybe i need a bigger tv? and while doing the karting challenge are you guys looking out for banana peels and turtle-shell missiles? or is it just me..

i haven't used any cooling so far. it ran sweet for 3 years (bought on release day) it sat in a closed cabinet with no venting for about a year. the first time i fixed it there was heaps of dust clogging up the inside so i cleaned it all out real good. the last couple times have been minimal dust build up, yet it's still happened. i've just pulled it all apart and fixed it again today and i ordered one of those usb fans that force more cold air in. has anyone used these and seen a lack of failures or anything?
-
got another YLOD last night. ffs. this is the 3rd time. has anyone managed to fix it so that it doesnt happen again? the first time i fixed it, lasted 2 weeks, 2nd time, 3-4 months. maybe just luck of the draw?
-
yea. tried again the next day worked good as. cheers
-
is it just me or do the standard cars look out of place on the awesome high-def circuits. because the standard cars are just up-scaled versions of the gt4 car and look terrible when put on a stunning looking track/background lol. i've only really been using premium cars.

trying to do the last GT rally advanced event, got golds on the gravel and snow ones now gone to do tarmac and the stage wont load! the bar comes up, loads all the way to the end and just stays there, left it for 15 minutes nothing happened. FML anyone else had this??
-
ok this sounds bad but i've been over an hour late for work every day since GT5 came out. i've just had lunch and im thinking of leaving again soon so i can get back to it. is this normal?
-
ha! i think i just found the droids i was looking for.. http://tutorial.downloadatoz.com/gran-turismo-5-endurance-races-track-locations-list.html the endurance races start at level 25. what is a pain in the ass though is there isn't enough races at each level to see you through to the next level, i.e you have to keep doing the same races over and over to level up and unlock the next ones. thats getting old real fast.
-
ok so im well into the extreme events now. i have to say.. does anyone else feel like theres a huge chunk of this game missing?? like theres no machine test (400m, 1000m, top speed??) or even a test track for that matter like every other GT had. where are the endurance races?? is there another section that opens up after you finish the extreme stuff or what?? or is this stuff still to come via DLC or something??
-
i think GT5 is probably the sole reason for the increased activity lately. did it spike upwards around, say.. i dont know, 25/11?
-
hahahaha buddy. unfortunately no one will ever take anything you say seriously after that epic thread you're responsible for
-
edit double post woops
-
do you mean to say people actually use all that BS? i've had everything off, except abs on 1 because i would lock up every time otherwise. the joys of the controller
-
yep i got gold. dominated that sucker. took a couple goes but perseverance pays off. speed wasnt my problem, i was just having trouble getting around everyone without getting disqualified from impacts and boundary cones. you can drive straight over the orange ones with the white stripe but you so much as tickle a red cone and its game over. also got gold for every test on international A licence, the final test took me heaps of attempts but finally nailed it. i saved the replay if anyone cares to see how its done lol
-
the most important thing above all else, regardless of whether its realistic or not is that its fun to play it. i'll tick that box

sounds very much like someone who went into this game with having decided his opinion before even playing it. it sounds like the only way to impress you would be if the game was exactly like forza. you have grown accustomed to the way forza plays and now any racing game that does things any differently, you instantly dismiss as rubbish. try having an open mind next time every car i've driven so far sounds incredibly accurate. maybe get a decent audio setup? thats probably half your problem right there. and as for the physics, there are a number of people in this very thread who have verified the cars in-game handle and perform exactly like their own cars in real life. LSD not lively enough? are you sure forza wasnt set too lively? whip lash effect too strong? are you sure forza's physics aren't a little too forgiving? you cant judge the physics as crap if all your comparing it to is forza. try comparing it all to the real thing, then you may criticize.
