  1. your battery is probably on the way out. try jump start it off someone else's battery next time, if that makes it fire into life a lot faster then theres your problem right there.
  2. yea christchurch has several BP's with 98. just a shame i haven't been able to make use of it yet. the cars been parked up the whole time back in nelson, my car would only run properly when i'd recently done a road trip down here and it still had 98 in the tank. completely different vehicle with that stuff in it. its got some dodgy tune in the computer from the previous owner in auckland.
  3. god dammit shell NZ sucks. i used to live in a town that didnt have 98. then when shell launched v-power they advertised it as a "high performance fuel developed with ferrari" and all that other marketing BS, that would lead most to believe it would have to be 98. but no, they basically just re-labelled the plain old 95 as v-power. kunce.
  4. tried looking for them in nissan fast, no luck. do they have any other names? i tried welsh, frost, freeze..
  5. what do you mean by sluggish, are you saying its hesitant to start.. or do you mean once its running its sluggish?
  6. can you guys remember how sick gt4 was when that came out in 2005? i was still playing it frequently up until gt5 prologue came out in late 07, and that simply shat all over gt4 from a height so great you just couldn't put it into words. prologue is barely even scratching the surface of what will be the final GT5. forza's physics and gameplay are far too arcade style to appeal to any real motoring enthusiasts. forza, you have nothing on the gran turismo series.
  7. interesting. indeed.
  8. hahaha i knew that was only a matter of time before that happened. although i think the graph could be revised to include other known characters that are far more ridiculous than the likes of richard simmons. i cant see him having 22s on his shopping list. howabout the likes of 50cent, or one of the sparkly faggots from twilight. someone who we can justify ridiculing and compare their likeness to those who lust after the excessively large wheels because their penis just doesnt cut it for them, or anyone else for that matter. i have to congratulate the OP. your probably now on your way to becoming a laughing stock, along with the likes of Buddy and the infamous La Bomba
  9. howbout ask in the wheel size thread?? although 20s is a bit silly and pointless. you may be feeding the trolls with this one. dont do it, you'll wind up with a rep like the guy who started the 22s on an r33 thread bahaha
  10. have you actually done this? and if it works to any extent, to my mind it cant be likely to last anywhere as long as new synchros. if the problem with the synchros is that they just have a glazed surface and therefore getting slippery then yeah IMO this could be feasible. but i've also heard of guys just using a lapping paste to make a similar effect (similar to what you do to valve seats).. but only when the problem is due to the surface being glazed. if the baulk ring is actually able to move far enough to touch the surface of the other, then im pretty sure thats a throwaway. that was the case with some of mine, they then became sinkers on my fishing line
  11. yea with a 2wd you shouldnt have much trouble because theres far less grip so the tyres are often the weakest link. on a 4wd theres far greater traction so the gearbox takes a lot more strain on the hard launches. also given that the exedy clutches have sprung centers thats always a good thing when your wanting to make drivelines go the distance. the solid center clutches are real harsh on drivelines.
  12. yea good call putting the 26 box in it, much stronger than the rb20 boxes and they're cheap too one of my friends has a 33gtr box in his r32 gts4, works nicely
  13. 40,000 kms per annum? are we talking about a gtr taxi?? yea seriously agree with MrStabby, the occasional bit of track isnt a huge deal for a clutch to put up with. but frequent hard launches in a gtr will kill it in no time so drags are out in your case if you want a clutch that wont push you to suicide in peak hour traffic. i found my 3puk an absolute nightmare in peak traffic, now i've got an exedy 5puk and while it is noticeably better, i would steer clear of it if i was doing the mileage you are. IMO - exedy full face organic, sprung center. heavy duty p/plate might be a good idea. the pedal weight might be heavy to start with but you quickly get used to it after a day or two then you dont even notice it. it'll engage smoothly thats the main thing
  14. i was touching on this subject in this thread i tried to start, but it looks like no one else measures outputs.. they only care whether they leak or not. at low rpm i was getting a peak output of around 28kV with good old oem coils that didnt leak http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Co...ge-t333110.html
  15. my R32 has been in nz since 1996 at which point the mileage was recorded at 44,664. very believable for a 1991 model i think. has obviously had a few un-skilled DIY enthusiast owners before me though, have spent a lot of time and money correcting their mistakes. amateurs.. they have no business messing with things they dont understand
  16. yea fair enough. i guess we're dealing with a contrast in climates here. when it rains here in christchurch, it gets cold real quick. last time i was in brissy and it rained, it was luke warm rain lol
  17. cant you just put the heater on hot and set it to windscreen? works for me... failing that you should probably enquire at repco or supercheap??
  18. many people have a far bigger tv than what they'r computer screen is. if you want to sit at your computer watching movies and tv programs like a loser, be my guest. i f*cking love the media capabilities on my ps3. my pc merely functions as a storage device and a media server, and the ps3 plays it all on the lounge. good system my flatmate has an xbox360 and what a bloody drama that thing is to try and get any sort of media server working through it, in the end we just gave up. with ps3 it auto detects everything and just works.. brillliant!
  19. yea, of course. will probly take some getting used to tho
  20. i think i'll be optimistic about this feature then. i think kazunori yamauchi seems to do a fantastic job of deciding which features are worthwhile implementing and which are not. so anything that he has approved of should work pretty good. as far as my research shows, its only useable with windows at this point in time. but it looks like they are interested in implementing it with games consoles.. watch this space i guess
  21. ok well that doesnt help me much for 2 reasons 1. i have an R32 2. very much out of my price range at the moment i've found a few HID kits that are much more in my price range, but i dont want to install it then find it causes glare all over the place. i've read that you can play around with the adjustments on the headlight and cut down on that.. has anyone here done that with any success?
  22. im hearin you guys with the "its good for drunken antics". that was all singstar was ever good for too. who the hell sings into a games console sober?
  23. yea that would be a pain in the ass to have to move your head around. with my current setup, if i moved my head 10 degrees in any direction i wouldnt be looking at the tv anymore lol
  24. you can probably answer your own question there.. are u asking because your taking your car in for a tune? if so, what are you getting it tuned for? does it not run nicely? have you made some modifications and now your chasing more power? thats generally what a tune is for. in terms of what you ask for, that really depends what you want and what the capabilities of your engine are. anyone tuning your vehicle should be discussing all the relevant details with you before they start playing with the car. maybe elaborate on what your setup is, and why your thinking of getting a tune in the first place?
