  1. and hey if any of you guys play online you should have a look at this. (check the upcoming races section) its a gt5 racing league we regularly have one off events to enter in, occasionally theres even prizes like new games and stuff. theres a new series we're starting next week using the lexus ISF RM and we want more participants, first race is weds 26/10 for anyone interested. for the series we race once a week on wednesday nights and use a points system across the series to determine winners etc. prizes are mostly just bragging rights as we race the same people regularly. its just auzzies and kiwis. we're a mature bunch who take the racing somewhat seriously so theres no kids or other fucktards senselessly trying to bash you into a wall or anything (something that pisses me off with the usual online) we generally have one series running at a time. so far theres been a super GT series, muscle car series etc. we're just about to get the lexus series underway if anyones interested. because we're a fairly small group everyone has their say about ideas for whatever kind of series you'd like to see happen.
  2. someone mentioned about ps3's having shitty wifi hardware. i'll second this for the earlier ps3's. my original 60gb console's wifi was a complete waste of time it would drop out constantly. my new one i bought last summer is lightyears ahead with reliability. that said, i still use it wired purely because its a faster connection than wireless-G. if ps3 were wireless-N then i'd probably use it.
  3. obvious troll. i live within a 10 minute radius of chch airport and i know of no such road.
  4. god damn this thread. i didnt know w.o.t existed until i saw it. now this game is seriously jeopardising my study habits FFFUUUUUU
  5. ps3 i found is also a bit picky with regards to what video formats it'll read and what it wont if your playing direct from external (e.g it wont play .mkv files). my guess is sony being a major player in the home entertainment publishing/producing sector they dont wana make it easy for people to play pirated gear. ive tried a few media servers and i've found ps3mediaserver by far the best one, less of a cpu hog on the computer and generally easier to use from the ps3 end. transcoding is awesome, any format the ps3 wont read, ps3mediaserver will transcode it on the fly in to a format that works. with tversity and Vuze i had troubles with transcoding they were quite unreliable. ps3mediaserver by far the best solution for watching stuff on ps3 IMO. ps3mediaserver
  6. not bad.. will try this
  7. sure mang, will do. 65,000 emails. 20 at a time. like a boss. really do not want to let it download them all because its several gigs worth and i had a hard enough time deleting them in the first place because skanky outlook express would only let me delete so many at a time, took forever. surely theres a way to tell a pop3 server to just delete all?
  8. so anyway, im fixing my mums laptop and in the process decided i'd just reinstall windows (as you do) because its so full of shit. now she's been using outlook express for the last 5 years and it was set to leave a copy of emails on the pop3 server. this has resulted in just over 65,000 emails on the server and now whenever i start outlook it tries to download every last one. is there an easy way i can send a telnet command or something that can tell the server to delete every last email? ideas anyone? chur
  9. this, and other valid points, all explained
  10. post vin number, might be able to tell you if that thing is oem or not
  11. lol yes high beam and low beam use two different sets of bulbs. the outer ones for low beam then inners for high beam. low beams should be off when you flick to high beams. nothing unusual there
  12. wow. whats the dealio here then.. does every one of them leak? a number of them are an odd shape/distance and can only be obtained genuine
  13. really?? who made those.. i havnt seen one
  14. so i've just done this mod and im now getting 14.0v at the pump and going well. didn't take the cradle out of the tank, and no you do not need to go for 8GA cable as in the original post, that is way overkill. i just used this for positve feed and the same in black for the negative straight to chassis, its rated at 25A which will comfortably accomodate the bosch's and walbro's which are all <20A at maximum draw. im using a 20A 3AG fuse. im guessing the huge 8GA cables would only really be necessary if you're running multiple pumps?
  15. so im no expert on electronics, but the likes of the bosch 044 and the walbro etc only draw an absolute max ~18amps according to various charts i've found on the internets. i've got a walbro pump sitting in my shed and the wiring that comes with it's factory plug (on the walbro) is only about 14-16awg which is the same size as the factory feeds to the pump in the nissan cradle. so that suggests to me that those wires are perfectly capable of running the bigger pumps if they are used by the manufacturer of a pump that will need to be capable of running 18amps and theres no need to go running extra large cables on the inside of the tank to feed the pump, and since no one thus far has managed to run the larger cables the entire way to the pump (internal), that would make it a pointless exercise to put thicker wiring inside the tank because the wiring is only as strong as the weakest link (being the factory wiring) which everyone has left there at some point. i plan to get this done in the next couple of days, but the way i see it a 20A fuse is plenty and 25A wiring to go with it. i dont see how the 8awg cable (rated about 56A) that a bunch of the earlier posters in this thread used was of any benefit over the 25A 10awg(ish) cable that would have been possibly easier to work with (and cheaper). does this make any sense to anyone or am i way off?
  16. na its win 7. the drive starts up but then doesn't register and turns off again within about 10-15 seconds looks like its a crook drive. cheers for the help
  17. so then, in theory, i can just connect the drive's power/data cables, then it should just fire up and go straight away?
  18. so my computers getting to be a bit of a dinosaur and both my hard drives are all full once again, both IDE drives. now i've got a sata drive i want to put in it for additional storage, is this possible? my mobo supports both IDE and SATA. i want to leave my other hard drives alone, i dont want to change the boot drive or anything like that. i simply want to use the sata drive as storage. can it be done? my bios has a variety of settings regarding ide and sata stuff but i dont know exactly what i'm doing there. help? chur
  19. so amongst all these announcements theres still no definitive date to expect to see it working again? or did i miss something
  20. i've had 3 of these headlight switches go on me (r32) and none of them had anything visually wrong with them. you cannot rely on diagnosing it by visual inspection, you will likely find nothing. quit messing around, just replace it and get your lights back
  21. popping out of gear is usually caused by overly worn selector forks. either way its a complete rebuild to fix which will likely cost a few grand , or just replace with a 2nd hand box for cheaper, but you have no way of knowing what condition its in and how long its likely to last. given that all these gearboxes are getting aged now and all have seen their share of abuse, i think rebuild is better in the long run unless you dont plan to keep the car long.
  22. wtf is steam?
  23. im raging about this whole thing but its probably a blessing in disguise as i've got assignments i should be doing during these holidays. still probably wont do them though.
  24. k cbf reading entire thread but am i the only one who thinks black ops is rubbish compared with mw2? game engine, graphics, everything in general just feels cheap and nasty. infinity ward > treyarch
  25. yeah agree every FPS i've played on PC i couldn't even contemplate playing on console, but it just depends which way you get used to a certain game first. when i buy a new computer that can handle decent games i'll be all over that shit.
