im visualizing this. you:"hey bro, wanna come round this weekend and take shifts for the 24hr race on the playstation?" person:"wtf? no.. leave me alone." you:
-
so i just did the a-spec roadster 4 hour race.. never again. a-spec endurance racing on a playstation is just tedious work. seriously.
-
-
lol i made two new drivers before to fill up the extra driver slots, and threw them in with another 2 drivers to do the 4hr roadster endurance. each driver did one hour each, in one race both drivers went from level 0 to level 17. thats how i roll

How Far Can It Stretch?
Spurdo replied to jamie curran's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i know a guy with 295s on 13" wide rims on his widebody gtr. it only just worked. illegal as all hell. looked pretty stupid too. dont do it. -
3Rd And 4Th Jumping Out Of Gear
Spurdo replied to G0DZLR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
its been a while since i rebuilt my box (same box) and im having trouble visualizing things but 3rd and 4th i think are on the same selector fork so thats where the problem lies. from what you describe, it sounds like it never really did this before. usually when cars start jumping out of gear it only does it occasionally for starters and gets progressively worse as the fork wears. but in your case it sounds like its gone from good one day, to not work at all the next, that i find really strange. but yeah sounds like its time for an overhaul. i thought the detent ball/springs only acted to move the shifter back to the central position when not in gear? if thats correct then that wouldnt have much to do with this? or if i've got this wrong.. ignore lol -
Automatic R33 Box Problems
Spurdo replied to Chi100188's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
k might be a silly suggestion but does the r33 have an overdrive switch? and if so, have you left it off? -
nah, that won't work i tried it in my flatmate's ps3 a few months ago. each ps3 writes its own unique "code" into it's original hard drive so it knows when your trying to use a different drive. and if you ever try use another hdd, it won't work unless you let it format the drive to the new console, thus erasing everything on it. not ideal. a computer cannot read the old drive, installed internally or externally (tried this also) as ps3 data is very well encrypted and no ones managed to make a program to decrypt it. apparently microsoft have no issues with people recovering their data from failed xbox hard drives. why cant sony stop being such kunce and do the same

i didnt upgrade, my console died. making it impossible to get access to my saves. one time i tried the backup utility it tried to backup everything on the drive, movies, music, the lot. didnt have a flash drive big enough for it. i only need a backup of saves but it doesnt let you do that
-
farkk it.. old ps3 packed up good and proper last week. just went and bought a new slimline. how lucky was i to backup my gt5 data about 2mins before it broke.. although all my other game saves are down the tube.. ffs sony needs to sort their shit out and come up with a way to transfer saves off the old hdd

dont be useless. lose the extra turbo.. lose the TCS.. lose the ASM.. even with the controller its not hard to feather the throttle where you need to. dont forget those le mans cars are engineered to only turn properly at high speeds or under throttle, so if you slow down to much and have no throttle on going through a corner you will be absolutely murdering your potential lap time. even on extremely low speed corners you need to be at least partially on the gas through the corner to maintain proper grip and neutral steering the same applies for virtually all le mans & F1 cars

yea nintendo have done well to target the "family" gaming market and probably is the best if your looking at it that way. although now that theres xbox kinect and ps3 move they've all moved into the same area of the market there. i think wii's still the only one that offers the fitness games. overall the game selection on the wii is a lot more family friendly i think
-
lol my console got YLOD again the other day and the fix didnt work this time, i think i'm just guna claim some "course related costs" from studylink and buy a new one lol its a good system
-
the trouble there is r33 gts4's are pretty rare, and the demand for that gbox wouldn't be strong. even gtr boxes are cheap as chips so i wouldnt expect much for that one. it probably isn't expensive to have the transfer case removed and sealed off so i'd seriously look at that, given that its got the same internals as the 2wd turbo box anyway so you'd have a good gearbox for little expense.
-
so if it really is better than the standard controller, howcome you've only had it for like a week and your getting rid of it? lol you say its to fund your car.. i dont think it'll go very far towards that.. what would it buy? a wheel alignment maybe?
-
yea thats what i've done, one driver at about 90%, one at 50%, one at 70% and one at 10% and i use them in whichever order fits in with my strategy
-
yeah but the flipside to that is when they're battling an opponent and they're meter goes all the way into the red they'r almost definately going to have a fantastic crash. if your not cheating and your using a proper car so as not to give yourself a stupid advantage then that would probly cause issues?
-
lol.. u said r33

yeah i think they must have improved the signs on blind corners since you were here. i've never had trouble anticipating blind corners they are usually marked with an indication on what to expect. 98ron is available virtually everywhere except really out of the way places like in the Marlborough sounds etc. although i used to live in nelson and they didnt have it there.. i even emailed BP head office at one point to ask them why we didnt have it, they said it's delivered into lyttelton and distrubuted from there and nelson is too far out of the way. BS if you ask me, they deliver it up to blenheim and nelson is only an hour west of there, with twice the population. hell they even take it over to grey mouth. i think it may have had something to do with the fact that the local ford dealer owns all the bp stations in the region and maybe for some reason they were against it.

are you talking about user bgm [menu] or user bgm [race]? as you can adjust these independently from one another.. wow.. wierd thing.. i've just noticed my user bgm goes quieter when i go through the tunnel in cote d'azur. not sure why? and does anyone else think its shit how you cant change oil between races when your in a championship?? wtf is up with that?? in GT4 you could go back to the home screen and change oil and all that. im now into race 3 in the formula series in b-spec and the car has so far lost 44hp due to no fresh oil. by the time i'm finished the championship it'll be permanently down on power and the overhaul is 500,000cr. this is bullshit

608mb tho? wouldnt that take forever? i just run a 40m ethernet cable that way u get wired speed

theres a big difference between accurate sound reproduction, and whatever you might find more audibly pleasing. games like NFS are all about the "action packed wow excitement" factor and i'd bet money that they spend a lot of time re-engineering the car sounds to suit their target demographic (which does not consist of simulation enthusiasts who want realism) this means they will be dramatizing everything to make it more appealing to kids, hektiks, fast and furious fanboys etc. when it comes to actually re-producing the sound of a given vehicle accurately, my money is with polyphony. and unless you drive in cockpit mode 100% of the time, it rarely will sound anything like what you thought it should sound like. whenever you've seen the car on tv, or even in real life close up, you never had your head fixed exactly to the front bumper of the car, nor was it fixed in the 3rd person while the cars moving, so the car is going to sound totally different from each perspective, and then it will constantly vary again with speed and relative airflow at speed from each perspective. so the only sound you can really criticize (if the sound genuinely is way off) is the sound from inside the cockpit, if you regularly drive the exact same car in real life. then you may say "thats unrealistic"

i'd download it regardless.. if ur connected to the network it wont let you play unless u have the latest updates anyway

to be honest, i can see gt5 seeing the ps3 through until the end. they really have no need to create a whole new game from scratch when they can just keep adding things to this one. i mean they cant really take the graphics any further the framerate suffers in parts as it is. and i've just gone a whole day without playing gt5 for the first time since release.. it feels wierd
