Tyres are Bridgestone Playz 225/45/R17, still have a bit of tread of them. looking for $300 ONO. pickup from Perth (NOR, Eastern suburbs). Call/SMS 0421 342 590. Cheers, enndee

Thanks for all your help mate! Looks like I've got a free upgrade with the burger... Lol, now I'm beginning to wonder what type of life this car has had over in Japland, and even here... Or maybe I really don't want to know... I guess I just have to drive more carefully over bumps then, I can already notice a few chinks getting taken out of the bottom of the IC. Cheers for all your help!

Cheers gotRice! Thanks for the comparison pics too mate, managed to get some photos although it was done at night so they're a little underexposed, and also a weird blue colour. I should really learn more about our DSLR, anyway the pics, sorry if their a bit shit : I really don't have enough experience to tell, but do you think that's the R34 SMIC? If not, how can I diagnose what the issue is, everything seems normal and boost comes on fine, although I'm pretty sure the intercooler has dropped a little bit more...

Thanks for the pics and prompt reply man, that really has helped! - I'll take some pics of mine if I can get home before the sun goes down. I can see what you mean by it being taller, it definitely juts out more. I've only had this car for about 2-3 months, and I can't really remember it jutting out like how it is now. I am the second owner of this car in Australia. I'd be surprised if it was a 34 SMIC on a number of levels, firstly, I was told by the previous owner that the car is completely stock apart from a K&N airbox, and secondly, I was actually thinking of doing the 34 SMIC upgrade! Obviously, I can't be 100% sure that it isn't a 34 cooler, I mean how could anyone really tell unless they've inspected it uber thoroughly... I'll posty posty some pics soon Cheers!

Hey Guys, Had a peek underneath the car and the SMIC is sitting about 20-30mm lower than it should be. Basically the lowest level of the SMIC is about 20-30mm below the lowest level of the front bar. I've been told that there may be a couple of screws that have fallen off and so will need to get under the car and check it out. I haven't hit anything hard or fast, so I'm really not sure how it's dropped to that point. Any others experienced the same thing? Reckon Japspec cable ties will do the job to patch it up? If anyone has an R33 S2 with stock SMIC and stock front bar, if they could take a picture of it and the undertray and post it up here that would be appreciated too. I'm not really sure what it 'should' look like. Cheers!

What's the deal with IT up in mines? Do they have many FIFO jobs in IT? - intrigued, but not enough to send my CV in...

Looks the goods mate! The weekend warrior just got some new weapons! White wheels definitely require extra care, but they are worth it, especially when they look as hard as yours!
-
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Can't wait to get this darned thing off - it looks so offensive when it's borken. Cheers mate!

Yeah I'd probably remove mine too, they don't look good at all. How did you go about removing the plastic pins and mounting tabs? What did you use to remove the double sided tape, I'm just enquiring because I don't want to use anything that will bugger up the paint job. The paint underneath them doesn't look to crash hot though... I can really see this turning into a Mr. Bean fiasco where I'll stuff something up, and I'll end up needing to repaint the entire car...

Got onto the freeway this morning and accelerated hard, heard a snap and looked up through the drivers side window to find my 'rain guard' aka 'body side molding' missing a great big chunk. It had a snap previously, which I didn't attend to, and unfortunately the quickly increased airflow caught the loose segment and snapped it cleanly off. Does anyone have any ideas how to replace these parts? They seem to be attached to plastic nuts, but they also seem to be held by double sided tape. I've attached a pic from the GTR FAST workshop manual which I think is the correct part numbers, and the offensive banged up spec molding on my car. Cheers! enndee

Definitely go with an i7, I bought my i7 rig in 2008 soon after they came out and I spent about $2.5G including a 26" LCD. My specs are: base model i7 - 920 I believe 2x Samsung 1TB in Raid0 - though if ssd prices are down it's definitely worth buying one (and putting the OS and swap file on it, and buying another drive for storage) UD3R Gigabyte mobo (should have gone for the intel board though...) 6GB kingston radeon 4890 (can definitely get better value for money now) As you can see it's nothing great, though it still plays everything fine in full HD. Also look at getting a good vid card, as IMHO they are still the bottleneck of the system. Have a look at the build section of the AtomicMPC forums, good bunch of guys that have probably answered this question a couple of times this week. Hope that helps

hehe, Borderlands, many a weekend and early mornings lost on that game. Good plot and fast action, best of all the four player co-op is intense to say the least. And the guns, oh the glorious guns. It shoots rockets! I think I left it for BF:BC2, but go back to it every now and then. Lvl 40 Bruiser I think My runners ain't the prettiest girl at the dance, but she'll put out the second you ask her! And be sure to hit the boost to know why everyone wants to catch a riiiide with tha Scooter man!

pfft... Who needs textured graphics and 7.1 audio? Stunts FTW </sarcasm> Looks like a good game though, enjoyed Grid and haven't played Pro Street, but the original NFS Underground and Underground 2 were pretty well done I thought, considering the hype. I thought Most Wanted was fun too.

I'm buying a Skyline... What should I look for?
enndee replied to Merli's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Yeah be wary of this. I only recently (3 days ago) purchased an R33 which had a wobbly steering wheel @ 100kph that I thought a balance and alignment would fix, as all other systems of the car were well taken care of. Turns out the front pair of rims are buckled! Not happy Jan, considering that I bought the car as an overall package, and I really didn't want or need to do anything extra to it. Now I'm facing either attempting to get the buckle fixed, which according to WheelsWorld is unfixable, or buy a complete set of rims. So alongside the Buyer Beware disclaimer, you should also try and get it to a tyre centre that will check the balance and trueness of the rim. You don't want to buy a car with buckled rims! -

Thanks! It's great to finally get a Skyline, the GTRs have been my childhood dream. I had to settle for its younger brother due to circumstance, but one day... A big step up from my boy racer DC2 Type R though - I'm still nervous to mash the pedal in 2nd... I'm sure I'll get over that very quickly though -

Name: Nev Age: 27 Location: Inglelands (somewhere near the border of Maylands and Inglewood). Music taste: Wide variety, I really enjoy some Liquid Funk that London Elektricity and Hospital Records put out, but it does sound dirty, so I don't tell people in conversation. Occupation: Software Developer Current Ride: Recently purchased Black 96 R33 S2 GTSt Have been lurking for ages... Finally bought myself a 'line so I've justified creating an SAU account.
