  1. Hi, Just started a new R32 GTR Dedicated Rally Car build... After putting Kermit into a concrete barrier in the rain last July, I am slowly getting the parts together to build another one.. Previous car straight after the "incident" with the wall at around 160 kph plus.. Then sourced the ex Brighty R32 GTR to use as the new donor shell c/w cage from Brad Gave the shell a clean up-removed old stickers etc and then put on my trailer ready for Marc and Josh at C-Red to make it roll.. ready for Phil at AFM to ensure the chassis is straight-seam welding and panel and painting etc Also purchased a Jun carbon fibre lip, CF wing and CF font grill as well as another set of original front guards/original bonnet and a new front radiator mount from Northside Nissan. Once the car comes back from Phil at AFM ( panel and painted in the retro red white and blue Richards/Skaife livery)I will update with the mechanical details. cheers
  2. Yeah, I would be very interested as well.. Just changed my username from tarmac Kermit...( based on I am starting with another shell and cage-thanks Brad/Brighty) Finally have the car rolling now so its off to AFM( Phil) for the chassis work and paint... then start transferring the mechanicals.. cheers chris
  3. Hi There, I would like to change my current username from Tarmac Kermit( name based on my tarmac rally green R32 GTR) to r32gtrdrc if possible.. I put kermit into a concrete wall at the last sposors day for targa west a few months ago and am now building a new R32 GTR for targa rally tarmac events( this one wont be green..) cheers
  4. hey, still got the bonnet cob?
  5. Had to be a spectator this year unfortunately... .it really didnt do it for me.. Finally sourced a doner shell with a 6 point cage from Sydney. Should be on the truck next week.........now the fun really begins with transferrring the good bits from the bent car into the new doner car...
  6. Hey Brad, I would be interested. Please email some pics showing as much detail as possible. I will contact you for a quick yarn once received. cheers
  7. Looking for a roller/shell R32 GTR that can be licenced for Rally/Race only...( must be able to be licenced to comply with the CAMS Dedicated Tarmac Rally Car requirements.. Have recently lunched my Tarmac Rally Car and now require a new shell or roller to commence the new build. cheers Chris
  8. Thanks for the background Stuart!!
  9. Thanks Guy's.. Duncan, The race car was built early 2000's in Sydney( by Richard Kimber) and the cage was a pretty elaborate piece back then. The hit into the concrete was hard into the right hand front corner then a pirouette straight around into the right hand rear. The cage clearly saved my feet and legs around the pedals...because the first front hit pushed the front rail to the left(banana) big time( there is a 35-40 mm gap under the strut brace...and the car has been strengthened and seam welded etc etc.. The second hit on the right hand rear then pushed the rear of the car over to the left( the left hand quarter panel has a big kink in it) The actual drivers side cross diagonal brace is now flush with the seat( there used to be around 80-90mm gap between the bar and my seat. And that bar broke both bottom ribs... The actual navigator seat is now also hard up against the console(the original seat pick up where you bolt the rail in) has just about ripped itself out of the floor( its torn but not all the way out) I was Really P1ssed of with myself for lunching my car ......but now every time I lift the tarps and have a bit more of a look at it ...it is really twisted and without the cage I dont think I would be here having a winge..SO the the cage really did the bizo. I have just found another R32 GTR Roller (100% complete bar the bullet and the box) and now we start again...strip- seam weld- new cage-etc etc and will transfer most of the running gear across...12 months from now we will be back out there having fun again.. I have attached a couple of shots .. I have alsojust put a a previous run from the day on youtube(its called targa west track/sponsor day at the motorplex) cheers
  10. Hey Guys, Latest update from the last Targa West Track day held down at the Motorplex... We had a great day up until the last run....it poured down big time during the last run...160klm-aqua plane- down the bank backwards and into the concrete wall. The cage kept us safe(only a couple of broken ribs for me) and the cage clearly did its job, but the car is now a basket case..needs a front and rear cut as well as a new cage so its start from scratch with a new shell/cage etc and transfer the running gear. We will be out of action for around 12 months but will be back with a new R32 GTR..
  11. Cheers Roy!! I will take your advice and see what I can find.
  12. I have a set of Compomotive rims (TH2-1780) that I would like to get refurbished.(cosmetics only) Can anyone recommend a reputable shop in Perth that can carry out this task? Ie: I would like the old coatings removed and then recoated. cheers
  13. Hey Richard, Same circuit... First time there and sub 51 sec ...just.. some in car footage from my go-pro in the link below cheers
  14. Just seen this thread... Yeah go Casey..he clearly spanked em ehh. I did think your-gay Lorenzo was in with a shot but the Honda and Casey are on the boil and are just to good at the minute. If he wins in Japan next week, I think he will take the championship next at the Island. I am currently working away but I'm meeting up with my Family and mates on the 14th in Melb ( theres 9 of us with VIP tickets on pit wall with pit walk through for the 3 days)....I'm hangin out to catch up with them again and watch all the action again this year***...and getting outashape... ......I have been away for the last 6 weeks and its been all work and no play GO CASEY
  15. Hey Ben, Thanks to you as well for sharing your knowledge.. I can confirm that I am currently running the R compound and try to keep them under 32 hot ...although I have clearly gone above that in some intances based on i am still learning a "system to manage my tyres" I have a mixture of effects depending on what event I run... 1)My last circuit outing at Barbagallo ( bout 2 months ago) the front left started to delaminate all the way around the outside corner of the tyre...about 25mm so i put it back on the trailer. Barbagallo is real hard on left fronts ive been told. 2)I also did Targa Southwest last May( no delamination issues) but did wear the middle out a little more than the rest. And the fronts do wear more on the insides based on camber i would assume. I also think I mighht be to aggressive at times because the fronts generally wear quicker than the rears, so i swap fronts to rear and visa versa after each event cheers
  16. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Woo!! I am currently floating between Nu Ziland...and Thailand but will take you up on your offer to have a yarn when I'm back in Auz.
  17. MR Woo, I am a bit of an old squabler and dont have much experience with forums etc, but i am looking for advice with R spec skins for the car. Seeing this is the site where other GTR victims shoot the sh1t, I thought someone here might be able to shed some light for me I have tried a set RE55's but didnt like them and i did beat them up pretty hard..I then tried a set of dzo3g Mediums for targa west last year and loved them but killed them within about 1300klms..i then tried another set of dzo3g's the next compound up liked them but only got about the same life span maybe a smidge more... I love the grip and feel they give but i am still learning on how to manage tyres...would you recommend staying with them and continue learning how to manage them or would you suggest going to something else that is a bit more "user friendly"...i really dig the grip and feel they give but the life span is an issue. Even if i did change to another brand, what type of additional life span could i expect? onya! I
  18. Thanks for your feedback to Ben....Im a little more at ease now cheers

I was going to gve the keys to the boy for Collie( the circiuit there really suited the car set last year i thought) but he broke has hand a couple of weeks ago so he cant drive at the moment.. Enjoy yourself at Collie cheers
