Haha my face is a tomato! I never learn.

So given that there's 2 days before the event. Can we just rock up and pay on the day (and bring the form)?

I am disappoint! Blew a cooler hose off on the last session of the motorkhana and didn't realise till i went onto the track for the first session...so had to crawl around and make my way back into the pits to fix it. Coach was great though, (Bob) even helped me fix it. Went out again for the second sesh and lasted almost one lap before it popped again! Fixed it once more and headed home...have now fixed the problem hose. Guess i should have done some more testing with the new cooler setup before hitting the track. My quickest khana lap was 31.02. Pretty happy with that.

Yellow group for me too

when does this start? There's a distinct lack of details of the day from what i can see?

Hey Guys, Anyone got any good suppliers of aluminium piping in Sydney's west (near paramatta). Looking for 3" piping as a start but would be good if they do other aluminium. Cheers
-
If you have a GTS-4 make sure you get a GTR cable, they're longer than the GTST ones.
-
Is there anything wrong with the 3" anti surge inlet covers? Reason I ask is I'm look at getting Eiji to make me a TD05-18G with 10cm (its for an rb20) exhaust housing. And the options are either 2.4" normal cover or the 3" anti-surge. Any negatives for the anti-surge cover or reason to avoid? It'll be internally gated as well against the advice of everyone here.

Fabricate A Return Flow Intercooler And Other Stuff For Me? :)
L0Ki replied to L0Ki's topic in Fabrication
I was thinking of something like this guy did http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/331717-r32-return-flow-intercooler-kit/ Looks nice and doesnt seem any lower than a normal Intercooler would be! The whole point of getting the return flow is i don't want to cut a hole in anything. Want it to connect to the stock piping for the side mount intercooler. Everything will be sprayed black aas to attract less attention. -
Fabricate A Return Flow Intercooler And Other Stuff For Me? :)
L0Ki replied to L0Ki's topic in Fabrication
Purely because I'm cheap and that's an expensive kit for the r32 (700$ish) and I'm going to be painting it black too so wouldn't want to ruin one of their kits. You'll have a msg soon just sorting some stuff out before i commit. Gotta compression test engine first before i begin all these mods! And i tried today and my guage is faulty. -
Hey Guys, this might not be helpful at all but my car does this too and today i tried something different. I didnt let the fuel pump prime and the car started fine. May have been a slight studder but way better than usual, but my car is stock so don't know if it helps. No mods stock ECU. Could have just been a fluke but might be worth a shot and it backs what DVS is saying about it being too rich (too much fuel at startup). The Fix who knows lol

Hey Guys, Just tried to do a compression test on my RB20 and have given up becuase i think the guage or tester is faulty. I bought one of the crazysales ones of ebay (its the cheapest) and i must have turned the engine over for the quivelent of about 30 secs (not all in one crank) and the guage was only reading 70psi. I was starting to fell bad for the starter motor so moved on to the next cylinder to make sure the first just didnt have only 70psi but i did the same thing and only got 60psi before i gave up. Surely i shouldnt have to turn the engine over for so long to get a reading? A few cycles of the piston should give a good result? The engine was hot, throttle fully open but no oil dropped in the cylinders. Cliffs: So is there something wrong with my technique or just a faulty guage? P.S: someone wanna lend me a known working gauge?

Hey Guys, After contemplating getting myself a tig welder and doing all this myself, i thought I'd check to see if someone on here is willing to and can do it cheap for me? All this would be for my R32 GTST has an rb20 I would be after some return flow piping to fit this intercooler http://justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=19813&cat=298&page=1 with stock piping connections. Also a new intake pipe with both oil and bov return pipes plumed in. lastly I'd need a new V-band dump pipe made for the new turbo (kando TD05/6) Now i realise the chances of any of this being done without seeing the car is small but what are the chances of say the return flow piping? Looking at getting this done first! Anyone keen to give it a go. Doesn't matter if its done using lobster cuts or bending just as long as it works. Thanks for any help.

I like to make em ridiculous! Mission accomplished haha

One more vid; a compilation (everyone) of all the videos i managed to get on the day...

Due to the overwhelming interest (maybe) in seeing my burnout/fail. I present you my burnout/fail. Edited to A grade spec! NOTT

Here's a quick vid of my best run i managed to get on camera. Also who was it that I spoke to in the staging area and told me my caster bushes(?) needed replacing? Was meant to talk to after but never did.

I got the vid of me frying my tyres but its actually quite boring. So unless some people actually want to see it I won't bother uploading it. My Gopro stuffed up too so all my vids have the sound out by like half a second. Really annoying! Thanks to the organisers. I would've liked to stay around and help clean up but had to take my mate home because he had work that night. Good fun. But kiddies don't do what i did and keep going after you've shredded your tyres. Doesn't work out too well.

Ah Roy, I was waiting for your response, seems as though i got the idea for TD05-18G from your build thread. I think I'll be waiting untill the end of Novemeber than for my Turbo. He even said he can custom make an exhuast housing (or atleast that's what i gathered from his repsonse) on the back of it to bolt directly to the stock flange dump pipe (so there'd be no need to make a vband dump pipe) but i think its best to keep the 3" v band for better flow? In saying that I'm pretty sure the dump i have now is 3" so wouldn't really matter if that was true. And if the power of the TD05 becomes boring for naother 750 (who knows might be cheaper in a year) you can go to the TD06, as for what i would be doing i think response would be best at this point. When do you think a TD05-18G would hit full boost by Roy on the 20?
-
Thanks for that. I did send him an email back asking if there are any negatives to the turbo he is offering so we'll see if he's honest Just out of curiosity how much sooner do you think the TD05 would spool over the TD06? Do you think it'd be worth it? It's hard to find any rb20 TD05 results on the internet. I haven't had any luck finding any apart from a few vids but no figures.

Hey Guys, Been thinking about getting a TD06SL2-20G, but have come to the conclusion i prob would want more repsonse so sent Eiji an email asking if he could do a TD05-18G in t3 flange. He came back with this response. What do you guys rekon? Would the turbo be a compromise and should i just wait for the actual T3 model to be released towards the end of November? Plus would it give me much more response over the TD06? And i assume it would have the V-band on the exhasut housing still? Hi, Our T3/TD05H turbine housing is not available yet until end of Nov. I have a genuine MHI TD05H-12G turbo with 8cm housing as this listing. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Turbocharger-Genuine-KUBOTA-V4702-Tractor-TD05H-12G-49178-03200-T3-8cm-New-/280763620494?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item415ed0dc8e#ht_2093wt_1185 I can upgrade it to TD05H-18G for you if you don’t wanna wait. It will look like the below turbo. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Turbocharger-3-Cover-T3-8cm-V-Band-Housing-TD06SL2-18G-/290622631545?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43aa756e79#ht_2686wt_1185 Unit price will be AUD 799 to door. I could offer oil-cooled bearing housing and water-cooled bearing system as well. If you wanna wait the 8cm/TD05H turbine housing, Please let me know your email that I could contact? you when it is available in the future. Regards Eiji Takada

Blocked the BOV off and no difference. Took the front bumber off to check for any loose intercooler pipes and nothing aswell. Any other ideas? Could just be the boost guage i guess but it doesnt feel very 'fast' or maybe I'm just used to the stock power now?
-
Only indication of a blown headgasket is that coolant level is slowly falling in the overflow tank. So it could be a leak somewhere aswell? No milkshake, or oil in radiator. Yep, just thought I'd try an keep it simple Will it hurt the engine to block the BOV off for testing? Ive seen people cut out a soft drink can and user that.

Hey Guys, I realise this is a pretty broad question, but I'm asking anyway. Car is a R32 GTST stock I notice that when i accerlate hard (full throttle) and watch the boost guage (stock) its only goes to just above the halfway line so about 4-4.5 mmhg when it should be closer to 5.5 to equal 10psi as this is what i believe to be stock boost for the R32 GTST??? Now i know i only have the stock gauge but could a blown headgasket cause this lack of boost? (yea i suspect my car has a blown headgasket - its loosing coolant slowly) Or could it be something else? A blockage? I just want a few things to look for before just going crazy pulling everything apart in the engine bay. Car has a stock rb20det engine with possible blown headgasket Any help would be appreciated.
