That must be another one... mine is black, although you need to see the 2 colours in bright light or side by side to tell the difference. Mods are just the common ones - exhaust, pods, PFC, bigger intercooler, boost. Had Apexi N1 coilovers but removed due to being too hard, so back on stock suspension for now.

Well I couldn't make it to the photo shoot so here's a pic of my toy, 95 R33 GT-R with the usual mods. One day I'll make it to a meet with you all.

Nice photos, shame I couldn't make it. There's always next time I guess.

10th/11th Sept I wouldn't be free - I'm only free every 2nd weekend for the next 10 weeks due to work commitments. Would be free the weekend before or after this though

PM'd previously, didn't get a reply at all. Have sent another PM. Thanks

are these batteries still available? I need a replacement soon.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has the factory suspension from an R33 GTR they would like to sell. Alternatively, would swap with the Apexi N1 coilovers currently on my car (in good condition, just way too hard for my liking)

are the 32 and 33 gtr front crossmembers the same, or different? I need a new crossmember for my 33GTR. would yours fit?

I feel I may have misrepresented myself - I'm not being cheap, and if it takes $1200 to get a good oil cooler then that's what I'll pay. My question really was: I can get a perma-cool (US made) oil cooler with a 21"x7"x1.5" core with oil relocation kit for $390AUD brand new, or a MOCAL kit with a 16row x 50mm x 235mm core for approx $500AUD brand new, but I have not seen any reports of how effective the perma-cool is. If the [insert jap brand] here is really 2-3x more effective than either of these options, then I'll pay 2-3x more. Roy seems to be in tune with my way of thinking - surely it's got to be cheaper and just as effective to build my own "kit" from assembled parts purchased independently. Have also had a look at sertrab cores - reviews? Thanks for those who have offered suggestions - will take a harder look at earls and serck stuff...

See, here's the thing: the two options I am researching are in the order of $400, not $800. And over $1000 is just silly.

Just a quick question about oil coolers for GTR. I know I need one, but I refuse to pay the ridiculous money that is asked for the jap-branded ones. So basically my question is - does anyone have opinions on perma-cool oil coolers? I know they are a variation on the tube&fin design, but they claim to have proprietary design that overcomes the limitations of this type of cooler. The largest size they have suits up to 450hp, which is slightly more (I think) than my car makes at the moment, so I figure it should be OK. My other option would be to import a MOCAL bar&plate cooler that the UK guys swear by, but this unit would have to be much smaller due to size/weight/cost limitations. I realise you get what you pay for, and I shouldn't skimp on parts for a car like a GTR, but there is also a difference between spending sensibly and getting ripped off. So: Perma-cool - good, bad, avoid like the plague? MOCAL? worth the effort of importing from UK?

FRIEND WITH Stagea (GTR wagon) NEEDS HELP
bambinator replied to Mrsexpo's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Did he put in *just* the motor from the R34, or the front diff as well? As you are no doubt aware, R33 and R34 diff ratios are different - could explain the problem. If the diffs are OK, I'd be checking simple things like tyre pressures and wear, and perhaps try rotating front to back. -

They didn't so much as install extras as do things in a particular way I wanted, for example keypad location, boot release, window lifts, tilt sensor, turbo timer, etc. As jlnewton said, it does have a backup battery - my battery went flat and you'll find as the voltage in your main battery goes down, the alarm senses this and starts to sound the internal screamer (which is still loud enough to be heard outside the car, inside a nearby building). My car is a daily driver, I have confidence in finding the car where I left it, although I still try to park somewhere where a tilt-tray won't go.

Apexi N1 coilovers
bambinator replied to bambinator's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Cheers, thanks for that guys. Will give it a go -
I have a nemesis in my car, and overall I'm happy with it. I don't stress about the car when leaving it somewhere, but then I never really did, and besides, I live in Canberra (lower risk) Positives: * Had good service from Brant pre- and post- install * Professional and helpful installer who went out of his way to do some extra things I wanted done, without charging extra * System is pretty comprehensive, I doubt it any opportunist or amateur is going to get my car, and although a pro with a flatbed will, the car will at least attract some attention to itself * The flashing illuminated keypad gets positive comments :-) Negatives: * If you get the starting sequence wrong, either the car won't start (not so bad) or the alarm will go off loudly, which is both painful and embarrassing * Leaving the car with mechanics/friends can be a PITA - there is a "valet mode" so they don't need the PIN for 10 starts, but in my system it doesn't always work, and I have had phonecalls for help because the car is stranded and the alarm is sounding * Once (in 6 months) the alarm has gone off with no obvious trigger, although of course I can't rule out the car being bumped by passers by. Hope that helps. Do you have any particular questions about the system?

If this isn't posted in the right section, feel free to move it... I have apexi n1 coilovers on my car (R33 GTR) which were there when I got it. The previous owner had them set on full hard, which is way too hard for even track use, let alone road use. Before I totally get the shits and just sell them for something else, can anyone tell me how to adjust them to a softer damper rate? There are no markings on the top and I don't have a key or anything to adjust them with. Can anyone help?

likewise, working

Can somebody post or PM me a contact phone number - I'd like to join you guys but I don't finish work until 11pm so I'll need a way to find you all.

I found out today that my car (which currently has NSW rego) will not pass ACT inspection without a shitload of parts to undo mods etc, which I couldn't be bothered doing (nor do I have the money for). So I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for a good place to go in Queanbeyan to get a rego inspection for NSW rego?
-
dammit, why am I always working when this stuff happens? :-( maybe I'll catch up with you guys next time
-
Yeah, it's not too bad to see out of, of course, nighttime can be a little interesting trying to use the side mirrors. Was on the car when I got it, considering getting it removed and replaced with something not quite so dark.
-
If you mean R33 not R32 then it was probably me - were you in the black 350Z? I was wondering at the time whether it was someone off the boards. Next time I won't be so rude (was on the phone this time)...give me a wave or something. Yeah, the tint is dark innit...
