Apparently not 100% of all the available fuel and oxygen is used in the combustion process, so i present to you: -

At least i tried. ...lol -
What Flter Do You Mid Range Power Users Use?
karma_syke replied to SargeRX8's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have a 3A filter, i got it because no one ever had a bad word to say about them, beats paying ridiculous prices for named brands for little/zero difference. What i do know is from personal experience say away from the green HKS foam style filters. They filter jack shit. btw are you sargeRX from gotgames? -
Supercharger For Extracting Exhaust Gas.

i don't think this would work or have any kind of benefit at all. The turbine on the turbo uses the 'free' or unused energy that the fast moving exhaust gasses produce to in turn feed more air back in. I don't see any net advantage to use energy derived from the crankshaft to help spool a (turbo) - might as well be a supercharger from the beginning. edit: before the so called experts see this thread and try to flame the OP for even suggesting it ("nissan spend millions in R&D and if it was such a good idea they would have done it before u so stupid") - lay off him, he's just having a crack and there's no harm in it. If you feel so strongly about it politely post the physics based reasons why may/may not work. -
what does an in store appearance mean? will there be drifting in the parking lot?

Germans To Invent A 2089Kw Hyper Car Or Hoax?
karma_syke replied to Silvia GTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
holy f**kbeans, just found that thread, mind = blown, only read 8 pages of it, but most of the story has been told, i assume the next 50 pages is just flame throwing -
i think this is the best way to put it, if you bought the s3, you'd forever want the 34gtr. But if you bought the GTR you'd soon forget about the s3.

Need Help! Stalling At Lights And Flat Spots During Take Off
karma_syke replied to D1STRB3D's topic in General Maintenance
a better solution to wrapping them in electrical tape is to coat them in silicon, i had mild coil pack issues and they disappeared after i did this, silicon is a better insulator and stands up to engine bay conditions better than electrical tape. -
wow $2k for a full kit, you could re build an entire engine including turbos for $5k?

jonno - if you want sporty fun, you have to get a manual - atleast in the older cars. the old 4 speed softy auto transmitions of the 80's/90's really don't cut it for spirited driving. Your looking for room so 4door, cheap parts, so aus made.... think your options are a falcodore in manual. Any r31 is going to need parts and nissan doesn't have a good rep for that. if i were you, i wouldn't even bother with trying to buy a 3k sports car. if you can push your budget to 5k, you have a much better range.

lol ask skyline fourm about getting a skyline, overwhelmingly people tell you not to get a skyline, rofl anyway, my experience in driving is R33 gt25t, holden barina, and some late model falcons, and i can tell you for sure that the 4L straight 6 is much much more daily drive friendly, don't need to rev it and torque is early. For a road car that you spend 95% putting around in you cannot beat an xr6t for functionality with some decent sporty grunt. +1 xr6t, every mechanic knows it, lots of local parts, easy to get more power out of it. isn't super targeted by cops, 4door with room, suspension suited to aus roads that come stock. isn't as sporty as a skyline or as fun to drive but you'll get over it.

Turbo and intercooler bypass (D-valve) A method by which a large zero cracking pressure one-way check valve is inserted just prior to the throttle body, enabling air to bypass the turbo, intercooler, and piping during periods where there is negative air pressure at the throttle body inlet. This results in more air combusting, which means more air driving the turbine side of the turbo. As soon as positive pressure is reached in the intercooler hosing, the valve closes. Sometimes referred to as the Dan Culkin valve. When used in a MAF configuration, the D-valve should draw air through the MAF to maintain proper A/F ratios. This is not necessary in a speed-density configuration. thats pretty cool, very passive system, wonder how well it would work.

same story here, except mine is 3.5 from turbo, with one rear muffler and a 4" cannon. Any idea how much a mid mounted muffler would affect performance? Kinda don't want to sound like i'm racing every time i pull away from the lights.

LOL how embarrasing, but yeah its a short somewhere, just look for worn insulation, probably going to have to back trace the wires from the horn button backwards. i had a similar thing where my High beams used to randomly come on, this was on a barina tho, seemed to happen when i'm following a cop car

Rifling Of Manifolds, Dumps And Exhaust
karma_syke replied to Johnny's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
this reminds me of that 'vortex' thing that was advertised on late night TV only it was on the intake side. Basically it was a cone with some fins that supposedly twisted the air, i think later it was debunked on some show can't remember though. -

thats a really good picture, nice photography. -
well if the mafia comes and takes your car then just be glad thats all they took, With a mobile phone GPS tracking system it wouldn't be too hard for some tech guys to create some software that put it into an alarm mode - where once activated if the car moved further than 1 meter ( or whatever minimum tolerance there is on a GPS device) the phone would send out an alarm, (text to you) (call to you) (call police?) or whatever. Another advantage is this system uses the mobile phone network to communicate, it doesn't use a 'transponder to satellite' which can be easily blocked by a shipping container. Point is even if they tried to tow your car, the moment they try the alarm goes off and you know about it and appropriate action can be taken. Along with a hidden kill switch/immobilizers & alarm it seems reliable and very cheap (compared to conventional GPS tracking systems)
-
i've thought about this for a long time, you can find a GPS devices really cheap now, hook it up to the battery, if it gets d/c you've got an internal battery that lasts, buy a prepaid sim and voila gps tracking that uses the mobile phone network. the comercial 'lowjack' style tracking systems are very expensive they cost atleast $400 and you have to have a subscription to constant track. However they do have a 'panic' style system where they can liaise with the police directly. Atleast in the USA they do.

i want to see a 2jz or Ls1 TT in a GTR.

not sure if troll or srs....

lol, build up that wall.

this and a steering lock bar, with the wheels turned so they are pointed towards the kerb, less chance of some one lifting the rear axle and towing your car. it's bothersome, but i use it if i have to leave the car in a shifty place. Just an extra layer of security
