JGB33 replied to justinfox's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Was out at queensland raceway other day 35 degree heat ,A guy out there has 33gtr and has a 16 row oil cooler .He is running high flowed turbos dump pipes ,3 and halh inch exhaust and some air induction and he could do 3 sets of 5 laps with about 1 minute break in between each set of 5 laps and his temp stayed at 110 -115 deg all day, every thing else on the motor is stock. He was running motul 300v chrono oil.He thrashed the car all day until midday when the heat was scorching. -

I want to remove my airbag steering wheel, and raplace it with a non airbag one. The thing i'm trying to find out is, do i have to buy a boss kit that is hicas and airbag sensistive or can i just use a normal hicas boss kit and disable the airbag sensors some how. Can anyone shed some light on which way to go.
-
I want to take my airbag steering wheel off and replace it with a momo wheel. My question is can someone tell me wether to get a boss kit that is hicas and airbag sensistive or can you just get a normal hicas boss kit and disconect the airbag sensors. I dont have passenger airbag to worry about only steering wheel.

I had my cluster out once to get fixed ,and noticed that when i drove it without it ,my hicas or power steering not sure ,made the steering very heavy and weird.Soon as it was plugged in again every thing went back to normal. But i do know that having the cluster out seems to make a few things funny.

I fitted a set of Saas seats to my 33 gtst that i got through repco, and they had rails you could get through them for about $250.
-
Yes i too would love to know how they got in.But i'm not sure how you could post it up without advertising the fact.Must be a huge relief to get it back.

Well i have had skylines going on 9 years, and i never get hassled by the cops. But if you choose to race people everywhere, and do stupid things, expect to be pulled up.Theres always a place and a time.I,m sure the local cops have seen me driving in my area over the years many times ,but because i drive respectably, they never bother me. If skylines a what you like, go ahead and buy one,in the end it will depend on how you drive and what you do that will get you in trouble.

JimX I realize that oil is spose to get black but there is a difference to oil getting dark to an oil that looks filthy black. The other thing was i wasn't saying that shell ultra was the best of the best, all i was saying is that the shell ultra has kept my cars very clean. The whole reason i have stayed with the shell ultra is that a couple of years ago when my r32 motor was stripped to do some mods the inside of the motor was very clean. So i kept useing it. One other thing is i know Ferrari dont run turbos but if they are running it in a $200000 plus car it cant be to bad. Also i have mates running it in there turbo porche and it does fine for them.
-
Enrico You will be able to change no worrys at all.A good thing to do when changing oils is change it once with the new oil and filter, then do another change again at about 1000km, then just about all of the old stuff will be gone. One other thing is, that a mate of mine was running castrol in his 33gtst and every 5000km when he changed it, the oil was black and had no body left in it.When he changed to the shell ultra ,i've seen the oil that was dumped out at 5000km this time and it was still so clean. HE WAS SOLD!!!!!!!!!
-
Well guys i have used shell ultra fully synthetic in my 32 gtst when i had it and in my 33gtst when i had that and now i have a 33gtr v-spec and still use the shell ultra and its kept my engines running great. Alwasy changed it every 4-5000km with a new filter. One thing i have noticed with the shell ultra is that even when its time to do the oil change, the shell still looks very clean.I have a friend that runs the shell ultra in his porche gt3 and he said him and his other porche mates in there club only use the shell ultra.I know that porche and ferrari recomend shell.Anyway that works for me.

There is proper paint protection companys out there, and heaps of dodgy ones as well.I have a metalic silver gtr ,when i bought it a while ago, i went and got paint protection on it, from a great place i know.Reason i got it was i've worked in panel shops for years and silver cars where always getting roofs and bonetts or boots resprayed from fadeing. For some reason silver just fades. The protection i had put on was sprayed on and came with 15yr waranty. If i have any problems with the paint at all they will fix it straight away. ITs been about 3 months and my car looks spectacular. But as far as washing it goes you still have to wash it with a good car wash. I use a product called zymol ,it was used on royal carriges, and brings the car up like a mirror. The thing with the paint protection is you shouldn't have to cut or polish it ,just wash it with something decent.then i just chamio it and as i said it looks like a mirror. The cost of it was only $350,and considering that if any thing happens to my paint it is fixed ,i found it worth it.
