  6. Next few weeks i will be buying either a HKS2535 turbo or a HKS GT-Rs turbo, still deciding. If anyone could clarify the following: 1) Do these bolt on to standard manifold? 2) To they use the existing oil/water lines or they have to be changed? 3) Is this an easy job swapping the turbos, just bolt on and off? 4) what fuel pump is better bosch 044 or 040? whats the diff between these, what power can they support (i am after 240-270 rwkw) finally i cant afford injectors at the moment, so is it possible with the fuel pump installed and power FC tune can i run low boost like 10 psi to keep it safe temporarily with standard injectors?? Thanks! Will post up results when done!
  7. This is how they look at night on my car. I fitted the dials by my self with no problems just have to take heaps of car that u dont break the needles when taking them off. I have no idea with the electric side of things, used an electrician.
  8. P1E how much did the defect set you back or was it just a matter of getting it cleared. I have a guage on my A-pillar but cops really dont seem to mind, have had a few warning tho.
  9. I dont go to this workshop, the guy is a mates mate... This is what i was told. He said this to me in order to back up his statement "why do all drag car's run non ball-bearing turbos, except the HKS drag GTR which changes its turbo's every meeting, because their life span is only like 1.5 meetings"... What do you guys think?
  10. Just in Qld at the moment... Have spoken to this guy at a workshop about aftermarket turbo's... Aparently ball bearing turbo's have a very limited life span (in some cases like 10,000km) and easily stuff up. I was told it is a better option to buy a non ball bearing turbo as it will last??? Any other views about this???

  12. Jimbo i have had my pod with a large induction pipe going from my front bar to my pod via the standard intercooler hole... I was a bit sceptical about it at first but have checked many times and have never had water in the area as a result of it... i dont think the water will be able to travel upwards so easily. Just try keep out of those large puddles, but with the weather as is i would not worry...
  13. Ok i just went today to get my new 17inch 255/45 tyres fitted to my r34gtt rims, on my r33 gtst. i originally had 235/45 17 inch but decided to go bigger for more traction... The guy at the tyre place said that these are 2 big for the guards and i need to get them rolled... he says that the 255's will give me less traction than the 235's cause they will dement and go out of shape when on the roll? What should i do, are the 255's really to big for my r33 or should i go and get 255/40 profile to narrow them down a little?
  14. Jay what did you do to hold the frame of the kit to the chassis of the car? i mad one ages ago only out of the insulation stuff from clark rubber but there is nothing to hold it onto the chassis so it is not flush. did you glue it?
  15. When your turbo is on its way out does it make any sort of sound? If i boost mine up i get this screeching sound as it spools up (the more boost the louder the sound). Is this an indication that my turbo is rooted?
  16. Yeh jay just blew my computer last night so it cost me a whole day today to buy a new one. It is running 10 psi now, there is a little missfire around 4500 on occasions, but apart from that its pretty sweet. Thanks heaps for your help just had no idea what to do with the standard boost thingy, but its all fixed now...

  18. its not midnight purple... i have seen this car many of times. it is aftermarket and i think it may be like a semi-flip paint from what i remember. go to the car-yard and ask them... By the way is this the yard just down from Croydon Maccas?
  19. just fixed up the hoses, they are reasonably short now. still a problem tho. if i boot it in a gear the boost goes to 8psi (thats all i set it at, standard as i have a full exhaust), then when i change to the next gear it only boosts around 1-2 psi and the car barely moves, dont even chirp the wheels... all gear the boost will be real low trying to rise but to no avail? anyone??? if anyone can post pics of their bleed valve set-ups it would be much appreciated... Thanks for your help Jay.
  20. ok will do this now... this has just been temporary as the previous set-up was taken apart. what about the standard boost solenoid? do i have to block it up, and disconnect the plug from it?

Having boosting problems with my r33 gtst. on occasion when i step on full-throttle the car may jerk around and the boost will play up. when it does this power goes dead and the boost is low then all the sudden it may jump forward for a sec then go dead again. i am thinking it is my boost controller and maybe it is not wired up correctly??? attached is a photo of how it is set up. anyone have any ideas, what should with my standard boost solenoid after fitting a bleed valve?
  22. what are the specs of the t04? how do these compare to the hks gt2535? which one of these would be a better option for a street driven r33 with occasional track use?
  23. with the same problem i am about to change my irridiums. cav maybe your car is leaning out? Mine will back-fire and splutter out the exhaust like nuts from 5500rpm onwards. If i do have a fuel issue will a malpassi solve it or do i have to do the pump and all?
  24. anyone know what the spec's are fpr the GT-RS turbo? i am tossing up between this and the 2535. I dont want to buy a 2535 and be dissapointed with the pull. Is the GT-RS still a low-mount turbo?
