Alright. Any good mech services around Adelaide?

Can't find a good mechanic in Adelaide to replace the main rear seal. Nissan dealer is fully booked for a next few months. The engine needs to be suspended, removal of the gear box and the oil pan to get into it (probably starter as well) and place a new gasket proper, tricky. Anyone knows a good trustworthy place where it can be done? Many thanks

Full removal of the engine front cover is required, sprocket covers, all piping, fan, belts, pulls, water pump, chane tensioner, the cover itself is fragile with oem sealant between the engine housing. 2. You can, also no need to remove the radiator. It will be fun bytheway. 3. It is a magnet with a coil in it. Buy a second hand one, or 2 brand new units, neither the covers or vvts are fixable, I would consider to replace all under the front cover, new chains, tensioners, pads etc, $2000ish with your labour and then it will run another 10+ years. You will have to do the same but without taking the engine out.

You can buy those kits in your local Nissan dealer but you will have to wait roughly for about 6 weeks to get all spares parts delivered from Japan, dont think any dealer across the country would have those kits stock up. Anyway I've purchased my parts in Dubai long time ago and a wallet damage was around $2000 for a full cart of extra parts you would also need if you pop her cherry for a full replacement of any worn/defected internal parts.

Tensioner looks alright and its about half way out from my experience. Small knock at idle is not tensioner none of 3 and more likely it is the main chain that makes that noise which becomes louder around 2200 RPM I have changed all internals myself, all 3 chains, main tensioner, pump, VDCs etc There is no need to use thicker engine oil stick with OEM Nissan 5w-35 Fully Synthetic All those well known issues with main chains noises and VDCs are caused of exesive use of mineral engine oils back in Japan

You would be better ask those who sell it if it is going to fit your car. It seems like it is still and will be the best option.
