  1. Pretty sure the turbo ones sit higher in the base to allow clearance for the intercooler piping?
  2. Any oil leaks in the engine bay? As it could be leaking onto the loom and working it's way through?
  3. You regularly "post" in gay things?
  4. Edit: Editing/clicking back button fail
  5. Interested in the floor mats, well, just the passenger front mat. PM'ing you now.
  6. That's the general consensus, drive-train loss exists but isn't a magic percentage or number, it's different to each car. If %20 were the golden rule, how long would a 8000hp top fueler drive-train last if it's losing 1600hp through the drive-train??? And well put! Alot of people don't seem to understand this.
  7. I'd rig the headlight switching wire into another relay that only switches with ignition power, ie you need ignition on and headlight switch on to run lights, as you don't want lights on all the time with the ignition correct?
  8. Not something simple such as a wheel im-balance and worn rack-end/tie rod end? But if it's only above the 80kph mark...
  9. You work in a Holden dealership, go after his VX!! -Your cars nearly 10 years older than his daily, and still going. How many oil problems did Holden have in the late 80's early 90's? -Regardless of if it is or not, ask with a concerned look why his fuel pump is whining. -Run your hands over the rear tyres and ask when was the last time he had a camber kit put in it. -Tell him sway-bar link kits and front lower ball joints are on special at Repco -Tell him he should move house, exactly 400m from work, on a straight road, so his car can get him there on time.
  10. +1 Intake manifold/plenum/throttle body gasket, vacuum line off/leaking, dud brake booster etc.. If not: -A scantool will help (ie check what the IAC is doing, if the car's staying on cold start and holding the idle too high) -Check your throttle body isn't jammed/being help open. -Dodgy MAF?
  11. Can you get it into 1st with the car turned off and clutch in?
  12. Agreed, you'll need at least a good press/press kit, along with decent specailty tools (ie circlip pliers) to even attempt this. And if you haven't re-co'd a gearbox before it'll be a daunting task. They look all compact and pretty, but once you start pulling bits off it gets complicated. Not the kind of thing to attempt with a shifter and rubber mallet.
  13. Agreed, it looks like one of the singing-fish-on-a-plaque you see at the local pub. Who cares i'll never own one.
  14. Remote central locking with alarm and immobilizer. Best mod for any Skyline...
  15. Simpy put, everything is shit. A car that has a list as long as your arm at one RWC place, will pass with flying colours at the one next door. The first copper that pulls you over in your bog stock N/A 33 could ping you for "suspicion of modifications", the next guy says "nice car have a good day". A 400kw GTR can get driven on the street daily with a 150dba exhaust and every illegal mod available without any hassles for years, but the guy following him gets a defect for "too low" or a pod filter when the car sits 150mm off the ground at it's lowest point and has a factory airbox. A P-plater in a GENIII commy with stockies on the back drives around for 4 years no hassles, but the other kid with a lancer and extractors loses his ticket for driving a "modified" vehicle. The system in place is shit, there isn't a black and white anymore, just a humongous grey area that can make everyone miserable in the wrong circumstances, and even the people spending thousands with emissions testing and playing by the rules can still get hassled. FTW lol. /rant
  16. Lol, sif safety engineer for Mercedes with actual statistics supporting his claims knows anything. End of the day, speed cameras are effective at one thing: making money, Maquarie Bank isn't overly interested in the road toll, so why invest in cameras? (See other thread, somewhere...)
  17. I thought I was the only one! Doing 100kph into a corner on a country back road marked 20kph... FAIL Doing 100kph when you can't see the end of your bonnet through the storm... FAIL Going 80kph through the above mentioned school zone marked 40... UBER FAIL It's plain common sense, but that doesn't matter when there's money to be made. Even in vic the freeways are marked 110kph, the road conditions are good and easy to drive on with alot or traffic around, but travel on a similair road, with less traffic and distractions, in country vic, and all-of-a-sudden doing 110kph is insta-death? I could never grasp the logic behind that. Speed is a factor in EVERY crash. If every car on the road was restricted to 15kph, and 5kph in built up areas, fatalities directly related to collisions would be zero, casualties would be near zero. Safe, but it's not practical. However, a car doing 100kph, driven by subject A, fatigued and full of no-doz with a BAC of .049, driving at night in bucketing rain with stuffed suspension and brakes as the car is 30,000km over-due for a service but hasn't been checked/roadworthied as they keep paying the rego, as they have never been educated to think otherwise, but 4 new tyres, is somehow considered safe and enforced as such? Yet subject B, who's had 10 hours rest driving a brand new commodore in optimum conditions during the day, but doing 115kph in a 100kph zone, is a menace to society and the number one target of media campaigns? Would you rather be on the road with subject A or B? Not trying to offend anyone, just joining the conversation....
  18. Dump pipe and intake? PM'd.
  19. I am a P-Plater, and it shits me to see the current trend of red P-Platers humming around in 5/5.7/6l commys, plates up, car full, and generally not giving a f***, and getting away with it. While i'm stuck copping it for playing by the rules. Buy a GTR? It's funny how the people who say this typically drive maroon, auto, VN clunk-a-whores with 500,000km. I think even the lightly modded GTST's on the forum would make them s*** their pants.
  20. Hi all, All items sourced except the dump pipe/flange and stock turbo intake pipe. Turbo I have apparently off an R34, if you have a dump pipe to suit this flange or the stock turbo intake pipe: (R34 standard turbo, 6 bolt flange, 5th pic down) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/345897-r33-series-parts/page__hl__r34,+smic,+turbo Please PM me or post here. Cheers, Josh
  21. Ricer, by definition of the typical owner, requires the vehicle be fitted with: -Pod filter, not mounted or enclosed -Fluro green ICE 16mm ignition leads, stock coil lead -Anodised oil filler cap -At least 2 cable ties without the ends cut-off -At least 1 engine component that has been sprayed with trevs "metallic" paint without cleaning or removing said component from the engine bay -Stickers on the radiator support to advertise said Anodised filler cap Optional accessories: -A bottle of "NOS" fuel additive kept in the engine bay for your next top-up -Un-fused see-through-red 4ga wire running from the battery through a hole cut in the firewall with a butter-knife
  22. -ECU -Injectors might not benefit much now but you can fit them with the ECU for later benefits -Cams, not so much, as turbo cams vary from NA cams, so you might find it restrictive down the track -Cat-back, but obviously not the front pipe -Ignition system work, depending on what the current set-up can handle -Start stock-piling turbo bits!
