About The Standard Fuel Injector Rb25De
blk94r33 replied to R33 Non turbo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I think the standard injectors are 270cc flow, don't know who makes them, are you looking for an upgrade or direct replacement? Why do they need replacing? Wait, that doesn't make sense... Think don't upgrade for an, are flow them? replacement makes I know,, who you 270cc looking direct do they standard? the or or why replacing need injectors are Fixed -
Check and check.. I think this would be the major issue with a set-up like this, physically fitting two turbos to a car has been done (duh), but getting everything to work in the correct sequence, such as stopping the smaller item to allow the big one to take over, whilst not losing exhaust flow, and also keeping the smaller item going so it doesn't have to start again on a gear shift, and also preventing any kind of loss back through the system. +10 for originality and value of input...

Good to see gear from some people with a positive attitude! And Trent that motor does look epic! Adam, been reading through your progress in the DE+T thread and must say i'm duly impressed with your work! This isn't so much of a should-I-do-it thing, just been browsing/searching and looking at different set-ups people have tried, and figuring that everyone wants boost from idle through redline (from a performance POV), could this be a happy medium? As Trent said, the setup he mentioned cost $1500 with the right knowledge and tools/equipment (obviously minus labour etc. etc.). Most people are doing a DE+T for less than $1k, so surely the parts to complete this wouldn't exceed $2k, no, it's not going to make 11ty killerwasps, but to drive with such a mid-range punch? Maybe I'm thinking too much... (And as i've said repeatedly, this is purely from a theoretical point-of-view using the aforementioned set-up as an example to express an idea.)
-
On another note, has anyone done any digging on variable vane turbos from a performance aspect?
-
I'd heard of the setup with one turbo powering another (ie one turbos "boost" spooling another), but not this, so thought i'd ask. Ah well...
-
Cam, you are winnar! I thought I had an original idea, but alas foiled again. Lol. As with the 320hp/standard turbo thing, this isn't about the biggest peak figure, rather getting the area under the curve. Would you prefer 500 peak horsepower but low boost until 5000 rpm, or have the power come in at low rpm and slowly raise through the rev range?
-
As i've already said, i'm using this set-up as a way to explain my idea, an idea spawned from my interest in doing a turbo conversion. Yes! Not just a standard twin-turbo-split-manifold, rather one smaller turbo to run the low rpm duties/good response, then "switching" to a larger turbo for high rpm/good final figure. I think "turbo x-trail" gets the line i'm thinking along? I though simply using a GTR with one smaller and one larger (than factory) turbo, but this would defy the point like hamish said only half the exhaust gas would flow to each at any given time. I'm thinking a set up that allows the best of both worlds, using full exhaust flow to the smaller turbo for bottom end and vice versa. Does anyone understand what i'm trying to explain or is my rant best taken elsewhere?

Re-enforce welds on floor pan and intake manifold, or is that what the bolts are for??
-
Lol. I thought the costs would probably out-weigh the gains, but was looking at it more from an idea/theory, not necessarily a DE+T+T, even a DET+T maybe. Everyone wants good response, no lag, but to be able to hold it through the entire rev range, I though this might do it?
-
In light of my intended DE+T conversion, have been doing some researching about different set-ups, what response/power/reliability issues they get etc and have come up with the following "facts" RB20DET turbo on a RB25DE+T can make 7 psi by roughly 2000rpm Rb25DET turbo on a RB25DE+T can make 10 psi comfortably by roughly 3500rpm My question/theory is, would it be possible to combine these two to make an engine that has a nice fat power curve, boost by very low rpm, but a good power figure by redline? Ie. if the RB20 turbo was set up in a remote/low mount position, set to 7psi, the RB25 turbo set where-ever it will then fit, set to a higher figure (to avoid the smaller turbo working too hard), with the necessary plumbing to prevent air-flow back through the smaller turbo further in the rev range. What other problems could this present? (Also, i'm using these turbos purely as a guide to explain my idea.) I remember seeing a set-up in which a smaller turbo was used to spool a larger one, but nothing quite like what i'm thinking.... Thoughts? Flames...?

+11ty Can they at least have a close button? If only for members? 99% of the time the rolly-overy-addy-closey-thingy doesn't work, I get infuriated and have no interest in the ad or whatever it's trying to sell me,and just close the page and proceed to re-open it as it's quicker and less frustrating.

Hey mate, If you go into the top right hand corner of your screen, (with your profile pic and the "sign out"), click the arrow next to your user name, and click on "My Profile". Now, directly below your profile picture on the left, theres a "Find My Content" link, this brings up all your posts for the last year. Is that what you're looking for? -

Got it! Stuffed up in my last post, you only copy everything after "topic/" not "forum/" (left a trader rating just then and it worked) so in >THIS< thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/346495-sau-30/page__st__240 just copy: 346495-sau-30/page__st__240 And paste it into the "Deal Topic" boc. (but for the thread in which the "deal" started) Hope this helps everyone? -
Your car is stalling because of the BOV being removed, it's a well covered topic mate...

Hmmm....

re-fixed

How the f.......? I tried this, and found out that the whole lens has a "tongue and eve" join the whole way round, with urethane/sikaflex etc holding it, and was damn near impossible to remove without butchering the headlight???

Why does a Bugatti Veyron engine have Honda's VTEC?

Did you copy the "forum/" part? You just want everything after the / on the end of forum/, so the word topic and onward. -

Figured it out mate. Copy in the last part of the link ie in: >http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/346495-sau-30/ Just copy the last part after/forums/ ie: topic/346495-sau-30/ But obviously for the thread where the for sale/wanted to buy topic of the "deal" started. That's how I got it to work anyway. Don't really uinderstand whty we can't just copy a whole link though? I put a post up here (page 11 maybe) and Prank was getting on to it.
