There was an incident at the carwash next to where I used to work that scared me away from the automatic carwashes with the brushes that swirl around your car while you drive through it. Some absouloute (for lack of a better word) Dingbat tied ball bearings into the spongey bristles. You can imagine what happened.

I've failed my L's twice haha. Going for my 3rd time this saturday. I'm looking at a FZR250 yamaha (cheap, sporty & same power as CBR) or maybe getting a ZXR250 Kawazaki (big more pricey, tad more power)

Unfortunatly I didn't even know about the imei thing. I think I was in shock or something on the night, because I was annoyed more than angry, yet I was still in a good mood. At night from now on I will most definantly have my doors locked, If he dents my car as a drive off, I'll dent his legs with rear bar as I reverse.

Tonight on my way to work taking burwood hwy straight towards the city I was aproached at a set of lights but this guy, there was me and this semi done up silvia at the lights. I saw him walk towards the silvia (as I was still coming upto the lights) noticed there was 2 passengers then flagged me down, I had my window down and he was right next to my door before I could do anything. Anyway he asked for a lift towards prahan, I freaked out cause I didn't want him to kick my car or something (he was a semi shady looking character) I reluctantly said yes. Anywho the lights turned green (I should have just floored it) but he ran around to the passenger side, I quickly tossed my wallet which was on the front seat into the back in haste which turned out being a big mistake. Driving on, I'm on edge as he'd been drinking, we just had the usual small talk as I'm counting the seconds before I can kick him out of my car, on the way he asks if I could give him a couple of bucks so he can get a taxi from where I drop him off i said I'll see if I have any money. We get to chapel/toorak rd and I pull over on the side near Soda Rock (thinking it's an out in the open place & I'll be ok) anyway he's like thanks can you spare maybe 10 bucks. I just wanted him out of my car so I lent over in the back to get my wallet, pulled out a tenner and gave it to him, also gave him the poo change which was in my center console (this is the funny part). He says thanks, shakes my hand gets out and slammed my door and he sorta jogged off, It didn't click as I got distracted by this chick that walked past as he got out. I pull into my car park at work got out then relised I didn't have my phone on me, that's when I got a cold chill, as expected I went through my car and my phone was missing. It was in the very same centre console part where the change was, he would have taken it as I lent into the back seat to get my wallet, then seconds later I rummaged through the console where my phone was/wasn't for the poo change as mentioned earlier so he woulda freaked out thus why he bolted off when he got out. Got to work and called it, switched off I was brought up to help a person out when they needed it, mum also told me to never talk to strangers but this really just grinds my gears, I know I was lucky he didn't pull put a knife and take my car, wallet or worse. This is a bad mistake that's changed my outlook, A harsh lesson learnt. No wonder people don't help other people anymore, because of scumbags like him. So Rob if that is your real name, I hope you relise your karma batteries are charging and they will give you what you deserve. I'm posting this to encourage people to be careful, I relise is was dumb of me in the first place to let him in but it was a difficult situation.

They meet at one of my workplaces carparks. I only recently started working friday nights at the venue and there's always 10 to 20 car's in the carpark with people standing around when I finish at midnight. But last night after work there was about 50 cars, so I left before any trouble started. But on the way i saw a pizza shop that was still open.. Anyway long story short I had to go back past my work where the u turn is so i could start heading home again... There was litterally 100's of cars in the parking lot. It was chocablock, and it's a massive carpark (I prefer not to disclose the location unless asked) I couldnt believe it cars and people everywhere, it's becomming a pain in the ass just to leave work without worring about being pulled over.

I got done for my speakers to. took it to my local panal beaters, cost me 380 for them to weld plates over the old holes, perfect job.

When i got my eng cert, they didnt even look at the exhaust. They just went by what was on the defect notice. I don't think they were being dodgy or anything.

I got defected in knox to june 2004 Left my car sitting in my garage for over a year waiting till i got off my p's, spent $4500 getting it roadworthy again. I needed an Engerneering cert for my rear parcel shelf which had holes cut into it to fit 6x9 speakers. Costs me $480 to fix the holes, $320 for the cert (plus another 60 for 2 replacement child restraints) 2 new tyres was $365 Scraped through the RWC test (cars lowest machanical point was 101mm off the ground.) Plus my 100,000km service which cost me close to $1900 Then had to worry about getting my car registered again. Haha no point to that story but the guys I delt with for my cert were really good they in the approved vic roads list to. They are just off burwood hwy near lewis road if you know it. Can get ya the number if needed.

Hey guy's My car's been off the road since last june and within the next 3 months i'm planing on getting it back on the road. My question is this, since my car's been off the road for so long, do i need to buy a new battery(current one has died) and change the oils for the engine, gearbox and raidiator flush or anything else? I don't want my engine getting damaged when i'm driving it around getting my car fixed ect. My car is also due for a major service, but i wanna get it roadworthy ect. So i can drive it to the mechanics for the service. Any advice appriciated. Thanks.

i'm also with just cars so i'm looking forward to hearing your report

thanks for the good imput so far guys!

lol still confused... stock for gtst's are 16, well mine are anyway. so that means, if its 2 sizes i can go 18, but if its 25mm thats only 1 inch. i'm gonna look at the vicroads website and see if i can find anything there
-
I've done a search, through 40 odd pages, and i can't quite find what i'm looking for, but i may be mistaken so plz don't think i'm lazy. I have a friend who is offering me his 1 month old 19"rims for $1100 but my question is reguarding road laws. As far as i know you can increase the size by 25mm? is that correct? This also means if you get lower profile tyres you can get bigger rims?? I would just like to know if i can get that thinner of a tyre to make them legal to use on the road. Last thing i need is another reason for them to canary me again. Any feedback is appricated

INASNT: I got pulled over by a normal TMU car, i cant read the guys handwriting. it looks like 'N.Halleit' but anyway, then they called down two of the more popular knox district police members that drive an unmarked silver ford. i don't need to say their names. But in all fairness, they wernt pricks about it, they explained everything when i asked so i don't know what people have against them.. They do their jobs well! which is bad for me
-
Well if i can do that that would be awesome, do i tell vicroads that i replaced the parcel shelf with a normal unaltered one? cause they might think i'm trying to pull a shifty or something i dont mind all the other costs, but the price of an engineers certificate really rubs salt in the wound heartbrkr : Yep they most certainly did write down get wheels aligned. which is fair, because the part of the tyre that was bald, was very bald. The rest was at about 75% so i didnt think about looking at the inside part. foznice: They just poped the boot, and looked at the upper roof area not sure exactly what they found, but the policeman said, "it looks like they had to cut some peices out to fit the speakers in, if you had an accident that could effect the crash somehow if it breaks easier than it should ect plus effect insurance if it were investigated" Those arnt exact words but the general gist. I actully learnt quite alot from that night.
-
i got done for: Ground Clearance - my cars to low.. fair enough Tyres (2) - they are 89v or something when they need to be 90v or above, load rating or something? Tyres (1) - front drivers side had a bald strip along the inside of my tyre cause car needs to be aligned which is fair enough Structural changes (parcel tray) - VASS certificate to be supplied Front End alignment - to be realigned *plus i have a condition written down than i'm not allowed to drive in the wet until i change my tyres. which is also fair enough. so its gonna be very pricey
-
Yeah i have a nice bright yellow sticker on my window.
-
Well i'd say so unless its been certified by an engineer!
