Because the other car is still acclerating at a similar rate to the car with traction, i found this very common with skylines- Then once the other car gets full traction, 9/10 it will be out acceling its opponent. The beauty of RWD and a lack of D/T losses.

lol there were a few people that applied when i originally did, who were dumb enough to smoke pot in the car park. These guys and the ones who were picked on at school 9/10 get weeded out and dont go right through thank god-

Had good reason for it though

As im training to be a cop at the mo, we get chipped V6 commodores (executives/ S) and the standard AU falcons. The commodore would be a good race for my stock auto R31 3litre, the falcon 4litres have alot more power, If the commodore made much over 100rwkw i would be suprised. Although we had a executive up to 190 on the motorway under blue and reds hehe :headspin:

lol considering the most boring parts of the last DVD/'s were when they went to the aussie/ US car shows. if i see another Cyber honda or one of those gay lancer coupes you guys have infactuations with (well not you guys as you own skylines, but other guys) i think ill scream- HO5 was great, better than the last BS one. Alot of the other stuff in them is more relavant to us though, as its local.Hence why you probably find it boring. Pretty much works both ways as we have very different car scenes in our countrys.

Funny i have heard quite the opposite, about how they chuck there toys at around 400BHP>? Quite a few caldinas GTT's etc putting rods out the side of the block all on a relatively stock 3SGTE- And after looking around abit its actually really common.

What do you mean? Like completely different headlights, or different bulbs, or XENON/ HID kits etc?
-
lol good effort, im not sure how the hell you managed to kill 3 on standard boost but thats pretty special dude lol Take it easy on the 34, those turbos cost a wee bit more. I guess you could buy in bulk? lol Cheers
-
Awsome, glad it helped. BTW nice work with the info. Cheers

i think it sounds like turbo seals myself from personal experience with your symptons

13.4 second 1/4 for your 'stockish' R33. (A how to guide).
R32 GT replied to rev210's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I thought it was 108.7? Ahh well, i couldnt actually remember, and i knew if i put up roughly what it was you would correct me anyway hahaha~ Hence the "optimistc" ness, you would notice it faster lmao -
hehe i agree. Go with a RB25 turbo, they are excellent on RB20's
-
R33 Krazy, let us know how your leak down/ compression tests get on, my car did exactly the same thing, thought it was a piston/ ringland. Did a compression test, turned out to be mint, all my issues have been turbo related~ Bolted up a RB25 turbo and fixed everything-

Ill vouch that the surfaces we are using are far below average, traction definately seemed as bad if not worse than our local strips from what i could tell. -
Auto to Manual Conversions - Good, bad or ugly ??
R32 GT replied to Jay95R33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
If you do it correctly, there is no difference in how it will drive, and i dont see why it should effect resale. As long as the inhibitor is looped so the car always thinks its in N (as far as the engine is concerned) it will run fine. I had been running around on the standard diff/ auto ECU for ages till i changed to a IMPUL ecu, and it went fine, my gearing actually worked out slightly taller than a factory manual, so im thinking it must at least have a 4.1 in there.. Auto ECU runs slightly more advanced timing, so you need to be careful with boost, but 9/10 a manual conversion car will be faster than a factory 5spd due to the diff and ECU. This is the case with 32's anyway. -
you blew the turbo 3 times on the standard set up? Im thinking your boostguage was faulty and you were running significantly more than that...

Thats a crazy 60', sure you dont have attessa hiding there somewhere? lol Shame i dont remember all the rest of my stats (namely 8th mile data) to compare, looks like the whales could all have a good go with each other. -
You might wana keep it around 11-12, for more reasons than just the turbo's life. To avoid detonation, and keep the turbo efficient most people tend to keep it round there. With correct tuning you can get alot of power out of them on low boost with a SAFC or similar.

Graeme did those wheels magazine cover pages help un ravel any confusement with the godzilla debate? Cheers, Gareth

Learner driver in skyline doing 205km/h?!?!
R32 GT replied to Amaru's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I agree with the power laws for younger drivers, or at least engine capacity, like what we have for motor bikes in NZ. The thing is though, she obviously didnt have enough regard for the law in the first place, as she was driving a car un-supervised, obvioulsy not hers, with a passenger and twice the legal limit. Somehow i doubt that if the car had to much HP for her experince at the time she did this, she would have been phased at all. She obviously acheived what she set out to do, another temporary citizen on the roads :headspin: -
Purchased a R32 GTS-t Yesterday - Now Some Questions
R32 GT replied to AzzurrA's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
No they dont have a boost cut, sounds like its either being fuel starved or a coil has packed up. They do tend to run 11 or 12 with cat back and intake, mine ran 11. 11 or 12 on standard turbo is no drama for the car. Try testing the coils first, maybe get the injectors cleaned and change the fuel filter. As for the HICAS check the power steer fluid, it runs hydraulicly and if its low on fluid dosent function correctly. IF you do a search youll find alot more info on these, you might find more R32 RB20DET info on www.skylinesdownunder.com check bothout. -
How do i make my R32 faster?
R32 GT replied to bruce32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I agree entirely, my car was stock as a rock when i got it, and its taken two years to get it to where it is now, modify it as your driving experience grows and how well you know your cars charachter develops. My car is like my glove now, i can make it do anything i want just about, 2 and a half years competing in one car is good like that. The mods i posted up are for a "all round" car, good on the track, as good as a GTS-t without race slicks/ suspension will be on a drag strip, and its still full street driveable with no problems. Its a safe set up, that wont blow the thing up and has it running nice and efficeint. Alot of the prices people are posting up are very expensive, if you try do more work your self its alot less, ie my front mount fitted with piping cost me $400, and you learn alot as well! -
Inherant R32 problems to look for when buying.
R32 GT replied to awill's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Some of them get sun damage, they get little bubbles along the bottom of the dash, but it can be fixed with a hair dryer and a syringe of glue.. Also its hard to find one with a mint steering wheel. Keep an eye out for leaks around the back of the motor, frost plugs and if the kays are around 100,000 coils as well. They are a good strong car overall, and the motors are brilliant, just is a few little bits and pieces that go wrong. As said tie rod ends, upper arm bushes, and if HICAS shits out, ditch it all together. If the interior is looking a bit worn, its easy to tidy up, as parts are plentiful, i have full GT-R trim in mine and it looks a million dollars to what it was. When you get it, make sure you have a warranty, give it a full service ie ALL the fluids and coolants, sparkies (NGK Iridiuim gapped to .8) and belts. Should be go fish after all that -
How do i make my R32 faster?
R32 GT replied to bruce32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Here what i have done- -Tanabe 3.25" Exhaust, turbo back -Apexi Intake with coldair box/ scoop (can post a pic of set up if wanted) -Apexi SAFC-II Fuel controller -R33 RB25DET Turbo (spec1) -EVO IV Front mount -450cc Injectors (with link resistor pack) -IMPUL ECU -GTR Fuel pump any time now (only thing holding it back) Along with handling mods. This hasnt cost me HEAPS because alot of the money is in labour, i sourced most parts and fitted my self, i made all the intercooler piping out of modified factory piping, which cost me nothing and you end up with good quality aluminuim piping, also fitted the intercooler/ turbo and air box. Saves Big$$$ This gets you over 200rwkw and a very fast car if you tune it right, obviuosly i didnt do it all at once. I upgraded the exhaust, then SAFC then turbo and cruised around like that for a while, you cant run much boost though till you do the fuel system to handle it, unless you like detonation! -
WTF? read the topic, its refering to a 2.2 build up, so what if you think the RB25 is better? Thats not what the topic is about, not everybody owns a RB25 and considering how much longer we have had skylines there is alot more RB20's and parts around for them, why say such a stupid thing?
