  1. Have you had your speedo recalibrated, the larger tyres may have thrown your speedo reading out
  2. I thought so too, however try going from D to tiptronic at any time on open road, more often than not it translates across into 4th gear and there is usually a corresponding drop in revs too from D into 5th. Simple fact is that it gives me on average about 2kms/per litre improvement
  3. 2001 V35 300Gt I get between 11.5.and 13 kms per litre on the highways One thing I have found is that putting it into 5th gear using tiptronic gives better economy on the highway Now i drive highways mostly in that gear not using the D setting on the auto, only going into D when overtaking
  4. Yep definitely trademe Thats where I got mine from...no problems written in full english not some 1/2 hearted japanese translation try.............. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/nissan/manuals/auction-456240612.htm
  5. Try this site below, if you feed it the details it needs it will give you compatability specs including speedo error etc http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp
  6. Keep an eye out on trademe.co.nz They often have parts for v35 skylines when you see one ask for a price etc on the part you need
  7. According to my owners manual, ( English version) they have an 80 litre tank pretty much right across the range
  8. Its the Insurance company that decided to replace the airbag When the panel beaters took the car to the Nissan agents to check the flashing light, they were told that the airbag had developed a fault and needed to be replaced I guess it must have been the accident as it was one helluva thump. I was just surprised the thing didnt go off Unfortunately the airbag has to come from Japan and costs $2500 worst part is that it takes about 2 weeks As has been said in an earlier post, " Car is fixable, life isnt as easy." Just glad we werent injured, there was a big ditch on the side of the road which would have rolled us had I gone any further off road to avoid the dog, I saw the ditch coming and couldnt do any more to avoid the dog
  9. Great Xmas and start to New Year Boxing Day driving home from Tauranga to Taupo at 10pm had about 20kg of dog race out from side of road and despite me braking and going to edge of road to avoid it, dog smacked into front drivers corner of my 300GT End result: Bumper replacement approx $1600 Grill replacement approx $350 Headlight replacement $1400 Minor panel damage prob about $200 Labour................god only knows Now find that the Airbag light flashing after accident means new airbag........................$2500 Dog died at scene Thank god for my car insurance
  10. There are quite a few band expanders available here in NZ, quite a few advertised on TradeMe also Before you order one check what Mhz you require, they generally come in two different Mhz ranges and you will need to decide which is appropriate for the FM signal range that you use Very easy to install for most cars, except for Nissan and those damn aerial plugs they have. TradeMe also usually has adaptors for the Nissan aerials listed
  11. Yep 300Gt is a great car, had mine for about 3 months too, better economy than my old R32 M Spec Turbo and performance isbetter too Add that to way better comfort and a good size boot as well plus more modern looks its the only way to go.
  12. Try the 300GT sedan instead, better power than the 250, not as much as the 350 but a very good compromise GT-T - 2.5 L RB25DET NEO turbo I6, 280 hp (206 kW, 343 N m) 250GT - 2.5 L VQ25DD V6, 215 PS (158 kW, 270 N m) 300GT - 3.0 L VQ30DD V6, 260 PS (191 kW, 324 N m) 350GT Coupe - 3.5 L VQ35DE V6, 280 PS (206 kW, 363 N m)
  13. You sure she didnt stall it....... We have had about 3 months of wet weather, ranging from really wet to where the *%$# has the road gone, and I havent seen anything like that happen
  14. I have had a pretty good look thru the workshop manual for the infiniti in the aircon system. Looks to be pretty much the same system and I cannot find anything in the blow-up diagrams that resembles this part Only thing I can think of is that it is a low pressure seal of some sort for the aircon ducting
  15. Yes Thanks would be interesting to see how they perform and mite get some too The ones on my work car are pretty standard but rain doesnt seem to affect them They have installed one each side onlyy slightly around the corner, more on the back than the side I think if you put them too far around on the side they will be beeping all the time as they will register side fences etc Colour coded ones seem the best, are you sure that the clear laquer wont cut back their range tho
