Have you had your speedo recalibrated, the larger tyres may have thrown your speedo reading out
-
I thought so too, however try going from D to tiptronic at any time on open road, more often than not it translates across into 4th gear and there is usually a corresponding drop in revs too from D into 5th. Simple fact is that it gives me on average about 2kms/per litre improvement
-
2001 V35 300Gt I get between 11.5.and 13 kms per litre on the highways One thing I have found is that putting it into 5th gear using tiptronic gives better economy on the highway Now i drive highways mostly in that gear not using the D setting on the auto, only going into D when overtaking

Try this site below, if you feed it the details it needs it will give you compatability specs including speedo error etc http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

300Gt Fuel Tank Capacity?
rayh1 replied to reverseworm's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
According to my owners manual, ( English version) they have an 80 litre tank pretty much right across the range -
Its the Insurance company that decided to replace the airbag When the panel beaters took the car to the Nissan agents to check the flashing light, they were told that the airbag had developed a fault and needed to be replaced I guess it must have been the accident as it was one helluva thump. I was just surprised the thing didnt go off Unfortunately the airbag has to come from Japan and costs $2500 worst part is that it takes about 2 weeks As has been said in an earlier post, " Car is fixable, life isnt as easy." Just glad we werent injured, there was a big ditch on the side of the road which would have rolled us had I gone any further off road to avoid the dog, I saw the ditch coming and couldnt do any more to avoid the dog

Great Xmas and start to New Year Boxing Day driving home from Tauranga to Taupo at 10pm had about 20kg of dog race out from side of road and despite me braking and going to edge of road to avoid it, dog smacked into front drivers corner of my 300GT End result: Bumper replacement approx $1600 Grill replacement approx $350 Headlight replacement $1400 Minor panel damage prob about $200 Labour................god only knows Now find that the Airbag light flashing after accident means new airbag........................$2500 Dog died at scene Thank god for my car insurance

There are quite a few band expanders available here in NZ, quite a few advertised on TradeMe also Before you order one check what Mhz you require, they generally come in two different Mhz ranges and you will need to decide which is appropriate for the FM signal range that you use Very easy to install for most cars, except for Nissan and those damn aerial plugs they have. TradeMe also usually has adaptors for the Nissan aerials listed

Yep 300Gt is a great car, had mine for about 3 months too, better economy than my old R32 M Spec Turbo and performance isbetter too Add that to way better comfort and a good size boot as well plus more modern looks its the only way to go.
-
Try the 300GT sedan instead, better power than the 250, not as much as the 350 but a very good compromise GT-T - 2.5 L RB25DET NEO turbo I6, 280 hp (206 kW, 343 N m) 250GT - 2.5 L VQ25DD V6, 215 PS (158 kW, 270 N m) 300GT - 3.0 L VQ30DD V6, 260 PS (191 kW, 324 N m) 350GT Coupe - 3.5 L VQ35DE V6, 280 PS (206 kW, 363 N m)

What Is This ? Rubber Band With Arrow In It
rayh1 replied to R6n350GT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I have had a pretty good look thru the workshop manual for the infiniti in the aircon system. Looks to be pretty much the same system and I cannot find anything in the blow-up diagrams that resembles this part Only thing I can think of is that it is a low pressure seal of some sort for the aircon ducting -
Yes Thanks would be interesting to see how they perform and mite get some too The ones on my work car are pretty standard but rain doesnt seem to affect them They have installed one each side onlyy slightly around the corner, more on the back than the side I think if you put them too far around on the side they will be beeping all the time as they will register side fences etc Colour coded ones seem the best, are you sure that the clear laquer wont cut back their range tho
-
Nope its a work vehicle and they came with it, I think 4 is a good idea tho as you can then cover the corners too and not just immediately behind you otherwise you are just as likely to smack into something on the corner which is a bit of a dead spot for view also

Scrubbing Out The Inside Of The Front Tyres
rayh1 replied to Cra-Z-Boy's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
but very descriptive though -
Seems like everything including car prices are hugely higher in Aussie What sort of reversing sensors are you getting I was thinking about getting a wireless remote camera that can run with my gps I have reverse sensors on my car and they are a bit of a pain

Sounds good............as long as you are happy and the rust is gone thats all that matters
-
I would suggest if you havent already done so that you either sand out the rust or very carefully apply some rust neutraliser ( carefully as it can damage paint finish) if it is close to the windscreen try masking off with newspaper you should be able to mask off everwhere but the area of the scratch. If you dont do something about the rust it will come back only worse
-
All I did with my old car was to give the area a good clean up and then degrease etc I gave at a couple of very light spray coats and left to harden for a day or two before any light buffing You dont want to cover too big an area with the spray,I went 1 to 2 inches past the scratch Nothing much is going to make things look original, my aim was to try and prevent any spread of delamination The can I got was a small one about 15gm abbout 6 inches high plenty there for this sort of job You could try brushing it but I dont think you would get as good a seal around the scratch
-
good to hear the colour is a close match, I cannot remember which brand, but you can get a small sparay can of Clear Coat for cars, it was either Supa Cheap or repcos that I got mine from Main reason I got one was because I didnt want to end up with the clear coat lifting because of the scratch I had I just gave the area a very light spray left it to harden then a very careful gentle buff with the car polisher
-
In the past when I have given up on Repco and SupaCheap, I went into a local paint shop, they took the color code and mixed e up a touchup pot of paint based on the code Only problem you get with any of the touchup paints is due to A) any fading of the original means the touchup is slitely different and B) the clearcoat changes the color also

What Should I Do Now? Need Advised...
rayh1 replied to Japav's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Dont really want to enter into an argument here but the purpose of the Traffic Rules and accompanying regulations is quite clear and given the circumstances of this accident if they are reported correct, a Taxi driver drove into the rear of a car which had stopped as lawfully required for a red traffic light, its pretty near inconceivable that any court would find the driver of the vehicle in front, to be in the wrong given these circumstances I've had years of frontline Police experience, and now work for the Justice Dept and do have some idea of what I'm talking about too. Your mate is correct that all circumstances have to be looked at but from what I'v read here so far the circumstances are pretty clear -

Dont think so...............Australian Road Rules 2009 state............ "Part 126 Keeping a safe distance behind vehicles A driver must drive a sufficient distance behind a vehicle travelling in front of the driver so the driver can, if necessary, stop safely to avoid a collision with the vehicle" Clearly states that this is an offence provision, ie should be punishable by Law Australian Law and NZ Law are very similar in many respects as they are both based on Crown Law even though both Countries have now moved on from being Commonwealth countries If someone is stopped for a traffic light and is hit from behind, this is an entirely different proposition from being in a roundabout
