Your laws in Aussie are prob very similar to NZs. If you get struck from behind, ie, nose to tail accident, the rearmost car is almost always held to be at fault as they have failed to stop in the clear distance ahead So unless someone comes up and says that you were reversing back up the road , you should be in the clear there You do need to report it asap to the Police If the Police prosecute the taxi driver, I am guessing they may be able to ask for reparation to cover your damage so its worth asking them about that and if they can ask for reparation, get a quote asap to give to them If the taxi driver says he has no insurance coverage, the company he works for may have some coverage

Plastx can work very well. I have used it on a number of cars with generally very good results, especially when using it with a car polisher ( gently ) Once that yellow starts though it will need redoing periodically

Dont know if it will work on vinyl, but i have in the past soaked glassware in hot water and washing soda crystals, when trying to get rid of that glue that seems to go rock hard on glass. After a few minutes in that it came off easy On a dash you might have to apply it repeatedly to have the same effect, but worth a try as it costs begger all

Not 100% sure as I havent had a look at my setup, but I did read somewhere in this site, that there is an amp possibly under the parcel tray/boot area for the sub . Possibly may not have been wired in with your new setup which would account for the problem

Ok Wildo........I take it the address below you reply is the one to use By the way, I have a copy of the startup DVD that the Pioneer DRZ09 needs to start up initially, would it be of any use to you I am forever getting enquiries for it as although you still cannot use the Nav side of the unit, it at least allows people to get the machine up and running so they cany use the audio features of it, ie Mp3 Cd DVD Radio etc. If you want it I will forward it over at the same time As I am in NZ do you have any idea of what sort of prepaid return envelope would be acceptable to your post office??

On a previous car I got rid of the beeping by simply finding the damn beeper and filling everything with silicon and letting it set. Basically muffled the noise right down as in the absence of air there was no noise transmission and avoided any risk of screwing up some obscure electronic system that may or may not be present

Have you tried wiring it to a continuous live wire instead of the cigarette lighter which tends to be ignition controlled. Wiring to the lighter would mean its only working with the ignition on

Just out of interest for anyone after one, I saw on Nz Trademe there is a Bose Stereo system out of a 2002 skyline for sale ( not mine either ) Also saw on there a plug designed to go into the back of the Bose stereo to connect your ipod up, its said it has a 3.5mm plug which I assume means a standard mini stereo plug rather than the ipod variety, whhich should mean that nearly any MP3 player could hook up

Before I bought my 5spd Tiptronic I was looking at a cvt 8spd model. I got as far as querying it with a close friend who is an auto trans specialist. His words minus the swearing, was to not even think about the Cvt. Reason......$14 to $1500 for a service, ie, oil change and if the gearbox played up, expect to pay around $15,000 as parts were not going to be an issue. None would be available and if I was lucky all I could do would be to replace the whole thing

Am based in Taupo........only just got the car and since then we have been too cold to want to get out with the camera, but will do it soon I heard that it was probably not too likely to be succesfull with a dvd map conversion, but its gotta be worth looking at tho I am guessing that mine will be a S1 V35 as its 2001 4dr 3 litre but havent had a chance to confirm that yet Also heard that there is supposed to be a Nissan day coming up at the Taupo Race Track sometime soon so am trying to find out more bout that Regards...............

New Owner here, having just bought a 3l 2001 V35, seems to be a Premium model, with Bose stereo half leather seats etc and only 28000kms which after a carefule look over does seem to be genuine Its got the Nav system but no dvd so I am now looking everywhere to try and find one, I want to see if it can be rebuilt to include Nz maps Am interested to see that there is someone who can do a conversion on the Satnav display from Japanese to English and would be interested in finding out how succesful/worthwhile that is Really great to have another skyline, I have had 3 other cars since I sold my M spec R32 and am glad to be back again Regards to all.
