the 34 gtt would be me i'll keep an eye out for you, thought myself and the series 2 were the only skylines in there haha. i'm a big fan of the white evo that parks in there too, but not so sure about the supra covered in TRD parts (hopefully you know the one I mean). -
I'm 21, Male, driving an R34 GTT. It has very mild mods, and besides the exhaust looks completely stock - I only use it as a daily driver and it rarely sees anything over 3,000rpm. I consider myself to be a pretty tame/responsible driver, no accident history. Bought it because my dad bought me a little matchbox car R34 when I was about 10 and it spawned a love affair with me and the skyline models. Besides this (and how rare it is to see a P-plater driving a skyline in my area), the stereotype is to be expected. The reality is the majority of people aren't vehicle enthusiasts, and an even smaller portion again are specifically keen on skylines, so the knowledge gap is filled with assumption. The questions I am most often asked about my car by friends/people I meet are: "Do you race?" "Do you drift?" "Is it twin turbo?" "Are you allowed to drive that?" "What's the top speed you've reached?" I once asked my girlfriend where she thought the turbo sits in a car, she hesitated for a few seconds then pointed at the muffler =\ still trying to teach her the basics haha. I guess the onus is on us as skyline owners to keep driving safely and challenge the stereotype.

If you are driving in town and have any obvious defects on your car try to avoid the foreshore area (and/or near the brewery, customs, northern etc) - it is a popular spot for cruising/modified cars. It is also one street away from the newcastle city police headquarters. I wouldn't say there are any great 'driving' roads in the city area of newie but I enjoy the run from King Edward Park -> Bar Beach -> Merewether Beach -> Scenic Drive up to the Pacific Highway. Agreed with wedge, The Brewery, Finnegans and King St Hotel are pretty good. I've been avoiding fanny's for the last few years though haha. Bag Raiders play at King St at midnight tonight if that interests you? My girlfriend is going to see them.

Felt like a busy day for skylines today? - Parked next to a silver R34 4-door and white R33 (gts?) in the staff parking of Westfield Kotara this morning - Spotted an insane looking black R32 (gtr?) between Cardiff/Charlestown this arvo - Spotted/got a wave from a white R34 (gtt?) also in Cardiff a few minutes later -
R34 Gt-T For Sale. Negotiable.
Soft replied to Black.Magic's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
given that this particular "super-rare tommy kaira kit" gtt spent 2 months+ on carsales.com.au, starting at around 17k and eventually dropping to around the 14k mark without a sale.. i'd say the highest price you'll get won't quite be 19.5k. you haven't listed a location of the vehicle in the original post, but i assume it is still in the ACT? -
There are websites/online services that allow people to send an SMS to a phone from a computer, with the feature of specifying details of both the receiver and sender of the SMS. For example, a mate of mine would use a website to send me joke messages like "I hate you" and he could edit the sender of the message to show up as "Mum" on my iPhone (or whichever phone he sent it to). Another example would be a message like "Come round to mine for a few beers this arvo" from "Jesus". In your case, I assume you are listed as "Matt" or "Matty" on your mate's phone. Anyone else who knows this (and knows your mate's number) could send him an SMS containing questionable material and make it appear as though it came from "Matt" or "Matty" - hence he blames you. This may not necessarily be the cause of your problem, but it is a likely possibility. Far less likely that your phone has been hacked.

white R33 series 2 parked in the 'staff parking' of westfield kotara, looks good -
I used it (glassylite) on my 34 last week for this reason, it received such good feedback no matter where I looked on the net. My headlights came up a treat, and the UV protectant (which most other headlight cleaning kits/methods don't include) is supposed to last a good year or two at least. Only time will tell how long mine lasts.

"Motorists have learned how to outsmart fixed speed cameras in NSW with exclusive figures showing the number of drivers caught speeding slumping by more than 200,000 in just two years. The fall in fines has left NSW Treasury with a revenue black hole of up to $30 million — possibly explaining why the cash-strapped State Government is pushing ahead this year with its new-style covert speed cameras." Full Article: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/795167...t-speed-cameras My two cents: To say drivers are 'outsmarting' the cameras is a bit of an overstatement - but whether people are keeping to the speed limit all the time or only when cameras are around, it is good to see the incidence of fines dropping. I agree with Wendy Machin, in that the State Government shouldn't be relying on revenue from fines. To run a budget on the assumption that people will break the law doesn't seem right morally. According to the reporter in the video, statistics for how many people have been caught by the mobile speed cameras will be released tomorrow. Should be interesting to see.

yeh the "lemon tree passage road" ghost story has been around for a while. very popular amongst teenagers and only recently started to gather momentum/media attention - you can search it on youtube for more vids of people trying to suss it out. the original myth is that you need to reach speeds around 180km/h to "summon" it, but just as many people claim spotting it as low as 60km/h. i've been through that area in daylight and the long stretches/bends surrounded by bushland make great conditions for other vehicles on the road to slip in and out of your line of sight. at great distances, other car headlights appear close enough together to be a single beam and can appear to be "following" you on the road before "disappearing" on certain sections of the road. as skeptical as i am though, i don't want to get in the way of a good story. believe what you want to believe i guess an important thing to keep in mind is that ghost or not: 180km/h + single lane road + night time is a recipe for disaster.

haha i hoped the driver was a sau member, didn't think i'd get a response that fast though. i was in a little silver hyundai excel, which after your v-spec was obviously the meanest thing in that carpark -

Hazard Perception Test: Green P Plates! How To Pass?
Soft replied to La Bomba's topic in New South Wales
To pass the test you are free to walk into the RTA and 'wing it' based on the experience you have picked up while driving on your Learner and P1 licence. As squarez said, you get a few practice questions at the beginning to help you familiarise yourself with the method of questioning. Depending on how experienced you are though, you aren't guaranteed to do well. As long as you read through this online handbook from the RTA you will be more than prepared to pass your Hazard Perception Test: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downloads/hptbook.pdf If you have already "readed it" and it doesn't make sense, I strongly recommend reading it again. If it still doesn't make sense, a lot of the questions in the test won't either and you are likely to fail. Failing isn't a big deal but it will cost you $$ each time you re-sit the test. Better to put in the effort the first time and ace it.
