  1. Todd from Marooka is organising a track day for October. I got the email the other day. I'd be interested in meeting everyone.
  2. From what I've read the JDM's have a better resolution.
  3. Can someone record the sound and post it up. Thanks.
  4. Here's the photo I was thinking of.. Is this yours..? To the right behind mine which is the super silver at the front of the picture.. Morooka were talking about arranging a QR day, either way I'm good all I need is a few weeks notice to ensure I haven't got something else booked. Todds problably too busy selling 370's.. I really want to get it out on a track to see exactly what it can do. The best I've had so far is a very angry drive through the hinterland about a month ago.. Loved it.. She responds very well, puts her nose down when you ask her too and just does what she's told.. If only I could find a woman that good.
  5. Did you have the red inserts taken out of the front seats as well.. Why? I like them.. It's obviously a premium as it's got the Bose woofer in the back.. The back seats look very nice.. What sort of money did it cost? I would have gone with a different stitch colour to make it look more seemless, but a great idea either way.. Very Nice..
  6. G'Day Robert, Welcome to the forums. I got the fist one delivered in Brisbane by Morooka Nissan. If it hadn't rained all that week I would have got the first in Australia which is what I was aiming for as I've got the last Australian Complied and Delivered R32. Spewing. There was a Titanum one deliverd right after mine, so maybe you're the third. I think I've got a photo of yours downstairs at Morooka Nissan when I took the first photos of mine. How are you enjoying the new toy? I love mine Haven't had much chance to drive it yet as work has been keeping me busy and had to go into hospital for some corrective surgery recently. Hopefully I'll be able to knock up some more K's over the next few months. On the iPod doc it's looking fairly bad. If you do some searching in the R35 thread there is one entitled what do you wish it came with or something like that. Some of the guys have already done a bit of work in pulling it apart and all that stuff. They even worked out that the VDU is running Linux. Apparently there is an extra plug behind the centre console that can be used to plug in Aux devices, however it's not that simple from what I've read. When I've got some spare time (December) I'm going to look into developing a mini USB port for it so I can plug in my phone and run MP3's straight off it as an Aux device. I've got a degree in electronic engineering so I should be more than capable of working it out once I can get my hands on the Australian service manual and work out what this "plug" they speak of does and how it's wired. What I'm really aiming at is to develop an interface (mini USB) that will allow me to stream any media from Windows Mobile so I can run video as well as audio. I will get around to this at some point just to prove if it can or can't be done. I'm going to need to find someone with a cobb access port so I can dump the contents of the VDU computer and go through it line by line and work out what needs to be changed or added to the code. This isn't an easy task and will take a few weeks on it's own. At a minimum I'll need to add an extra button on the VDU screen to access the port. Then there is the question of wrtting (I'd rather convert) the extra code required to stream data to it. If I can't do it I know tons of code monkeys that can. Anyway have a look in the forum and see what you can find. When I get around to my project I'll inform people how the progress is. Enjoy. Stuart
  7. It is very easy to drive around town and it's not exactly exciting at "legal" road speeds. He should have found himself a nice curvey open road and put his foot to the floor, then he would have realised that Nissan have built the next generation monster that any fool can drive fast. I use my R32 as a daily driver and it's a pain in the butt in traffic. You get the R32 on the same curvey open road and it's a serious handful, constantly stepping the rear out and the aged ATTESA traction control system still frightens the crap out of me and I've been driving it for 8 years. The R35 is an extremely capable car designed to go stupid speeds and it does it well. It's near impossible to make a car that handles slow speeds well, is reasonably comfortable and very much at home on a race track. Nissan have acheived this. He's comparison the the Merc is just stupid considering he hates the technology and refers to it being soul less. I test drove a number of Mercs before picking up my R35 and they aren't drivers cars. There seems to be "gap" between you and the car (the technology) and they provide absolutly no feedback. I think Nissan have done a brilliant job is this department as the R35 provides more feedback than any car I've ever driven with this sort of technology. His problably knocked up his review on his 386DX2/66 running Windows for Workgroups 3.11 because he likes the experience it gives him and he knows where everything is. He should go and write for House and Garden, I think he'd be more at home.
  8. Has anyone "touched" their front spoiler and realised that it's got "sticky tape" on it? I went for a drive this evening and took a tight turn on the way out of my units and "clipped" it.. Felt it!! Ohhh!! When I got home it's not that bad.. The whole bottom spoiler and "sticky tape" can be replaced. If you look there are also some on the rear arches as well. Anyone..?
  9. They take a few days to prepare.. They take a while to clear customs.. The transporters won't deliver them in the rain as they are concerned they'll slide off the back of the truck while they offload them.. In perspective the driver of the truck had +$500K on his truck when delivered with 3 cars.. Can't afford to screw around with that sort of money.. They need to align it and make sure it's ready for you.. You just spent a lot of money on a car and your dealer wants to be sure it's perfect.. Now I've been in one all I can say is it's worth it... Hold on real tight and watch just how fast things go past.. You won't stop smiling... I'm picking mine up in two days and can't wait.. It's a few days overdue but worth it.. You didn't just outlay your money on a Tida, you bought a GTR.. The legend continues and you're now part of motoring history. Enjoy. Trust me it's worth it.
  10. Mine arrived at the dealers yesterday. I was supposed to pick it up on Monday but the delivery guys wouldn't risk transporting it in the rain. Here's my girl.. The Super Silver is more like chrome.. The dealer took me for a drive in his this morning and had the suspension set to comfort mode.. They are super stiff.. Very torquy down low.. And goes like a shower of sh!t.. The best choice I ever made.. I'm still smiling.. It's a titanium to the left behind mine and a white.. Not bad with close to $500k worth of cars sitting there... Tuesday can't come fast enough.. Not sure about you guys but I asked my dealer to keep the shipping stickers on the windows for my records.. Did the same thing with my Harley..
  11. Well that just blows. I guess I'll be second then.. Ohh well can't have everything.. You're right it is a big honor.. When do you actually get to drive it out the door..?
  12. How the hell did you get it so quickly, got family working for customs. The ship landed in Brisbane and off loaded 4, then went to Sydney and then on to Melbourne. The first car into the dealership (dealers car) arrives today for the Gala release tomorrow evening. Mine is being sent to the dealers tomorrow for my collection on Monday as they need it for a few days. I hped that I'd get the first customer delivered R35 as I've got the last Aust Complied R32.
  13. The best I could find was Suncorp $1041 with a $1700 excess. None of the major insurance companies would touch it. Just Cars wanted something like $1600 with a $10K excess. Crack smoking fools.
  14. Take the drive down the coast and talk to Gavin Woods at Auto Tech in Labrabour.. He's been looking after my Aus Complied R32 for years now.. Knows his sh!t and isn't a rip off.. Most of the highly modded GTRs in SEQ go to him..
  15. Mooroka Nissan told me that mine would land in Australia (Brisbane) on the 24th. It would need at least 2 weeks to clear customs and then they'd need it for a few days. They are doing their best to get it to me before Easter. Not long now. They are having a Gala Launch at their showroom next Thursday evening and test drives would be available after that.
  16. I pre ordered mine (Premium - Super Silver) from Mooroka Nissan in early October 2008. I Received the update letter late last year as well. Got a call from the dealer about two weeks ago congratulating me as it was one of the few in the first shipment (they had 8 preordered and will only receive 4). I was told that because it was a premium in super silver that this helped as Nissan had halved production. He also explained that I didn't have to pay the extra $7000 as it was pre ordered last year. I was also told to expect delivery latter this month (March). Apparently there are no demonstrators to ship either. Originally I was told the demonstrator would arrive before mine and they give me a call to come out and take it for a drive. So I figure the test drive is off the cards. I've asked them to give me two weeks notice before it arrives as I need to make some space in my garage. I'll let you know when I get the call. The other thing I've been told is that it won't ship with a GPS like they are overseas. Other than that I can't really add much more. Bring it on... I can't wait..
  17. Guys, I'm looking for someone that owns an Australian Complied and Delivered GTR prefrably in Brisbane. Does anyone know of anyone..? Initially I'd like some digital photos of it for an insurance claim I have outstanding at the moment (engine bay is the main one). Some bastard performed an identity swap on mine while it was having some repair work done and the insurance company maintains it's my car.. I've had a vehicle inspector look at it and confirmed it was an import but the insurance company won't budge.. They tried to find one up here to put them side by side but they can't find one... Can someone please help me... Thanks, LIMITLESS
