Nissan Skyline R33 1994 Series 1 M Type * Arias Forged pistons * Roller bearing Turbo * Microtec MTX12 Computer * Koni damper adjustable suspension * Aftermarket Intercooler * 3' exhaust (including dump pipe and hi-flow cat) * Turbo Smart Hi/Lo Boost Controller * Heavy Duty Clutch * Registration till Nov 2010 Note boot has been replaced and the colour is slightly different. I have already purchased another car and am keen to sell. The the car is still running fine and was used as a daily drive car up until a week or so ago when I got another car. My mechanic said it needs an engine rebuild to me in September 2008 and I have been daily driving it from then up until March 2010. The old thing I do is top up the oil in between services. All reasonable offers will be considered, no time wasters please. PM if interested

Do I Need A Engine Rebuild?

It's not leaking oil. about 6-6.5K between services yea I think the guy said its the exhaust manifold with a slight leak I think i was running a bit rich. Also cold start it pretty bad. its running a mirco tech ltx12 I got it retunned and the dynoed and they said it was runnig pretty bad only making about 140rwkw now they retunned it to 170rwkw. Feels much better to drive. -
Do I Need A Engine Rebuild?

the original builder is out of business to the best of my knowledge. (probably a good think for other skyline owners) PET modification it used a lot of oil since the last service probably about 5L when i boost it hard through 1st and 2nd it puffs black smoke. I think they done a Leak down test too and said it had blow by. there was also a small exhaust leak from one of the pipes near the rocket cover. -

skyline r33 gts-t so rb25 I'm in the Northern Suburbs in Melbourne. I know there are a lot of place around this are eg Bresciani, Pro Maz, Pro Teck, Rajab, Created .... -
Hi My car had been using oil. I was not happy with my mechanic so I took it to another shop and they done a compression test: Here are the results 1 - 150psi, 2 -160psi, 3 - 160psi, 4 - 155psi, 5 - 160psi, 6 - 145psi They said the Oil rings in the engine need replacing. And it could have been caused by a bad tune or bad engine build (yes i already had it rebuit once and it has forged pistions). They also quoted me between $4,500 - $6,000 for the build, depending on how much work needed to be done once they pull it apart. Also they said I should not be driving it the way it is. What do you guys think of these compression reading? What you you think of the rebuild quote? (is there anywhere I can go to get a good rebuild for cheaper?)

3.5" exhaust (apexi cannon??)
firefox posted a topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Selling a 3.5' inch cat back exhasut. Not sure exactly what brand it is, think it is an Apexi cannon. To suit Skyline. $200 Sounds sick!!! check it out http://firesport.ipspace.com/?section=item...n=show&id=22539 -
Count me in too. Just let me know the details, date time and what buy-in where you thinking??? (so i don't spend all my money on more mods !!!)
-
Also it was suggested that i could take off the 3 flow muffler and bolt on the 4'' apexi cannon for track work

Hi Have an r33 gts-t with about 3" dump pipe, straight through catalytic converter, and 3.5" - 4" straight through Apexi exhaust. Gt30 turbo, microtech ltx-12, standard injecors, Making about 198rwkw at about 15psi. Car use: daily drive, 1/4 mile, cruise, high speed driving, and want to do 'track days' in the future. It’s VERY LOUD not your standard 3.5' loud, I mean loud est. 110+db. Also when I kill it there is a 'flame' after burn from the exhaust, reduced this a little with some tuning but its still happening. I want to get a quieter exhaust. This is what I though, and was ratted at 89-90db (EPA compliant t00!). - Install catalytic converter - 3" mantel (or whatever it’s called) bend piping - Hotdog/Straight through resonator - 3 flow muffler. "The guy at the exhaust place" said the catalytic converter will help protect my engine, because it will provide back presser and at the moment the straight through cat does not have any back pressure. Also should stop the after bun/flame from the exhaust. Is a cat a good idea and how will it affect performance???? Does anyone know about 3 flow mufflers? How will the suggested system affect my performance??????????????????????? Was told it would give me more power down low while only losing 3-4rwkw on the top end. And finally how much tuning do you thing will be required once the new system is installed?? eg. Timing change...

I have a Nissan Skyline r33 gts-t 1994, fitted with a Microtech LTX12. My mechanic can never seem to tune it right problems include - high idel (1,500 rpm) - misfireing - poor fuel consumption (average 250km per tank city driving), now lean spots after he leaned out the tune and still poor fuel econmy - afterburn, flames out of the exhaust after you change gears on full throtell I go back and he 'fixes' it for free as i have already paid him for the work but it never seems to get fixed. the same sort of thing happened when i got the engine rebuilt, but now its ok (i think). what shall i do?

Just got them(done about 250Km) they are Hankook K104 235/45ZR17 94Y(300km rated) XL(xtra loaded) just dropped the pressure to 38psi they are on a r33 with 2 degree camber at the front and about 1 degree at the back. Will trial this psi for a while. Heard that the tyres take about 500km before they realy start to stick.
-
ok thanks looks like i'll drop the psi a little and test a few different alternatives. Might go back to 38psi which i used before and i liked. btw. what psi do you guys run at the drags?????????????????
-
What do you mean by cold? and Hot?
-
Hi, (done a quick search, didn't find much info) I just got new 235/45/17 tyres and measured the psi and i thought it was high, i rang the guy where i bought the tyres and he said to keep the tyres at about 44psi. What psi do you guys use for daily driving and what do you think of 44psi? With the previous tyres ran between 36 -38psi. so what psi should i run ?
-
Freight would probably cost too much, but if you find out its not too much we could organise something.

n15m0 if you want good tyres for around the $1000 mark you should look into Hankook K104. I just put them on my car (yesterday) after doing some research, eliminated my vibration problem and feel good, to early to rate them though. There is a thread in this category of the forum on the K104s and eveyone thats used them has only good thinkgs to say. I was thinking about getting 18" rims with the same tyres size you got and was quoted $1040 for the rubber, but you should be able to get it cheaper. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=39750
