  4. Yea bought the kit as I was approaching 200Kw. The kit was fantastic, maybe a tad brutal on the 1st to 2nd changes. I also ordered a new filter and gasket kit from MV Automatics. Should give them a call they answered all my questions.. As long as you maintain the gearbox well it could actually handle a lot of power and live a long healthy life. Not sure how long it takes to install the shiftkit but its not that difficult apparently. People from the group buy manage to do it in their own garage as you dont need to take the gearbox out.   5. Yea I had a shift kit and transcooler sent to me from MV Automatics from Adelaide, as part of the SAU group buy. Installed in Hyperdrive as I was doing other things with the car. Forgot how much it was, but you can have a look at it from the group buy section, I think they're still doing it. As far as Auto shops in perth, I have no idea, would be great to find out because I plan do to other things to the autobox.
  6. Does anyone have any experience with Bridgestone Potenza RE01 or RE01R? Are they as good as Advan Neova AD07 or Toyo RA1?
  7. If you did decide to change from RB25 to RB26 head, would you bother to change the loom to a proper RB26 loom or just addapt the RB25 one to suit the new head?
  8. I thought deep cycle batteries are only for electric vehicles like golf buggies where they discharge slowly and constantly. Car batteries deliver quick burst of large currents and spend most of the time charging... Why would car batteries be deep cycle?
  9. What car? there's a guide in the DIY section for R32/R33 I followed that and took me a hour. 14 and 17mm socket and a breaker bar is all thats needed
  10. Hey, when you take the cars to the pits to get permits for more than one mods and one of the mods fail inspection. What happens? Do they give you permit for the other mods and let you go? Not give you a permit at all but still let you go home and fix the problem and try again later? Be a dickhead and take your license plate or give you yellow sticker or something of the sort?
  11. How much better is the RB26 head compared to a RB25? Assuming similar setup offcourse. Thought I'd ask when buying a head, how can you tell if the valves need reseating? Is there any way to tell if the head needs to be reconditioned?
  12. So a RB25/30 combination with an aftermarket plenum e.g. sub-zero or greddy would fit without modifications to the engine mount? and a normal strut brace would fit on top of that?

  15. Since we're on the subject thought I'd ask Where off the plenum do people usually plumb the vacume hose from? any pics? Ive just installed a GFB BOV and Ive been driving lightly with it seems like everytime I take the foot off the throttle I get a surge, unless thats what the BOV is suppose to sound like.

  18. And check with timing light to make sure the timing is in order when you're done. Also check that the rubber seal/spacer thats on the timing belt cover (sits between the CAS bracket and the CAS) is still ok. Mine had cracked and fallen off which is the beginning of all my misery.

  20. Yea happened to me too. I advise you not to try to start the car in that condition When my CAS failed due to the broken keyway in my car caused severe ignition timing advance which led to some detonation and now I need a rebuild. Hope your case isnt as severe. I had to replace both the CAS and the camshaft in my case... If it helps or if you're interested, I have a HKS256 8.8mm Exhaust Camshaft lying aroung
  21. Do you mean you've broken the CAS/Camshaft half circle keyway? The one that lines up the CAS with the Cam?
  22. Can people who have done the rebuilt please list the workshop they went to do various stages of the build? I have absolutely no clue who could do this for me.
  23. Where are you located? would you consider selling the motor without the turbo/manifold/wastegate? How much?
  24. hehe, Im not doing the rebuild, I'll get a workshop to do the rebuild. as you said, my technical knowledge is lacking, just trying to see what's the most "economical" solution for a decent rebuild is.
