R34 Aussie Or Import
CosworthSti replied to CosworthSti's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yh because ive seen some dodgy r32s around im wondering if they're legal. i know there are some non import r32s but this one my nephew was looking at doesnt have an import sticker. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=10187990&__Qpb=true&keywords=&Cr=2&__Ns=pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294963593&silo=1011&seot=1&__Nne=15&__No=15&trecs=1409&__sid=12E3BFC662BC i know hes probably sprayed the chassis but there's no excuse not to have one. shame really he was considering it and its got some nice parts. -
are all r34s imports? i know some r32 gtrs arent just are all r34s even gtts and gt25s imports

Rb26Dett Conversion
CosworthSti replied to CosworthSti's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
do i have to do the blue slip though -
the rta has a 15% engine increase law right so if you drop an rb26 into a gtt its ok right. its a nissan engine too and its turbo like the 25det but a tt. is that all you have to do notify them?

R34 Vin And Rego Check
CosworthSti replied to sikmatesubwoofa's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
pretty sure if its a gtr the rego will say gtr. plus would revs have more info. cos i reckon wen u get pulled over by cops they can tell if its a gtt or gtr. -
How much money would my GTT R34 yield if I part it out instead of selling it whole. It's fully working great condition, engine is 80,000kms. Gearbox is semi-auto. Panels are in very good condition and it's white, no mods. I've got a turboback on it. Can I get like 15k? I know it depends on heaps of stuff but like I said it's in great condition, no troubles, engine and gearbox and good and so is the interior and body.

Relax man I'm just asking, why is renting a workshop stupid? I want to paint the car and fit new suspension and brakes. If these "experts" are so smart then why don't they help instead of hijacking and abusing? The American forums are better than this Jesus Christ I mean what happened to a "friendly" forum? Do you have to be somewhere bro, not enough time then just don't reply. I always prepare everything BEFORE starting a build, not during the ownership and changing parts consistently. I do the build all at once so I can then focus on DRIVING. Don't help, just don't hijack.
-
So anyone know of a place I could rent? I only want it for 2 weeks guys, not too big but big enough to change parts and paint in.
-
I just saw the Autosound LS1 powered R34, it's a twin turbo and it weighs less than the RB26 with more displacement. Now Autosound did do this build so it is possible and I suspect it's alot cheaper than the OS Giken RB315. Questions is with this build can the 4WD remain. The 4WD is one of the R34 GTR's best features, can the LS1 work with the 4WD? This sounds like a stupid idea but look at the facts. 1. Cheaper Build 2. Lighter Build 3. More torque Now I would only want 600-650hp but the torque, the weight and the price would really make this tempting. I love the straight-6 in the R34 but I've looked at the price and this seems feasible. Street legality is obviously laughable, this thing is like 125% increase in displacement but we'll talk about that later. What do you think?

Does anyone know where I can rent like a little workshop to work on the car, some things I can do without a mechanic. I just need a garage kind of place. They don't seem to rent places for 2 weeks I checked it's all per annum rents and I don't think they would think it's worth it. I just need a big enough place to paint, replace small things etc. By the way I have experience so that's not the issue, I can't do it at home, not enough room.

Galois the R33 is not an option, I know I'll get abuse for saying this but compared to the R34 it is kind of ugly, personal opinion though. I want the R34 for the looks and the performance, if it was just performance I'd get the R32. I considered the Supra too but I've made up my mind.
-
I would be really lucky to find one that's 35k, free up my budget for mods.
-
Called a couple of GTR sellers yesterday, I'm trying to a get a pretty cheap one even if the KMs are high, I'm getting rid of the engine anyway. I don't mind paying 40-45 even 50k but does anyone know any GTR's from 35-40k? I mean genuine R34 GTRs. If not then I have couple of high probabilities. Galois I'll dig up videos I have of my STi, it was an 04.

I think I'll be getting the OS Giken 3.15 motor, it seems to be coming from a solid company and I calculated it, I could make it work into the budget. Now because this thing is so expensive I want the best tuner in the country. I would be willing to go interstate for a tune if its necessary. Does anyone know a good tuner with a good workshop?
-
Holy **** that thing is EXPENSIVE. How is it made? Using the RB30? How much can get for the stock RB26 in the car so I can sell it?
-
Where can I get the Giken 3.15 in NSW? Who build's 3.0 ltrs in NSW? I would be willing to take it another state for the build.
-
Well I haven't bought the car yet, like I said it will definitely be within 1-2 weeks. I just need info on this because the Skyline hasn't got alot of forums around, they're either Japanese or in the UK. This site seems to be solid. I only want 3/3.1 litres but if 3.4 is possible then the more the merrier. However I do want the engine to keep that "RBness" about it.
-
Nissan Pathfinder pistons? You mean stock Pathfinder pistons or forged?? They make the engine 3.2 or 3.4 but what I want to know is will they be heavier, respond differently, sound differently. By the way who would do this build?
-
How big is the N1 block, like I said this thing will be strictly street, I need fast spool, bigger displacement has an advantage here. Yes an RB26 can make 1000hp (I'm only looking for 550-600) but it's the power curve that matters for a street car. If I could get a 3/3.2/3.4 I would be happy. I thought of the 2JZ because you can get kits made in 3.4L easily from reputable companies with warranty and such.
-
By the way guys when I get the car I'm going to have alot of parts to install on hand. I could have a mechanic do them but some things I can do and I've done before. Question is where can I rent like a small place like a workshop for 2 week or so. Bigger than a house garage but not a factory, just enough to work on the car.
-
Would the RB26/30 build change the engine behavior or sound? I had another idea which is going to sound stupid but how about a 2JZ powered R34? The 2JZ is nuts and can be stroked to 3.4 comfortably and the GTR is a better car in terms of handling, looks and overall features. Would anyone do such a build and how much would it cost. I know mounting the damn thing is going to be difficult. Also would the R34's 4WD handle it?
