  1. I'm chasing a crank collar and oil restrictors as well...
  2. Is it worthwile trying to modify the block to fit the oil squiters from a RB25 block? How much heat do the oil squiters actually draw away from the pistons? What do all of you guys do with fitting oil squirters? Don't worry?
  3. Yeah blow by is gases from combustion squeezing past the piston rings or past a cracked piston or ringland and pressurising the sump. This will cause oil to be sucked into your turbo if your oil breathers are connected to your intake (factory setup). If you start getting alot of blow by, oil will begin to leak out of the BOV if you have an aftermarket one and out the oil filter and possibly the dipstick. Basically just hook up a catch can to stop any oil vapour from being re-circulated through your intake system.
  4. A catch can always a good idea. At taht level of boost if you are hitting redline and pedalling the throttle a lot you will begin to get blow by issues. A catch can will collect the oil vapour/mist that comes out of the roker cover breathers when you get off the throttle after full boost.
  5. Do you have reciepts for the build and are you willing to do a comp test before sale? Very Interested.
  6. I think your right mate. This is the option I would be going for if I was chasing 300rwkw on an RB22. The 2.2l isn't going to have that much exhaust flow that it will cause a restriction and limit power with a 0.63 a/r rear housing, and this should still be pretty responsive.
  7. Thats one more advantage of a daily driver. I drive a 1.3L Corolla to work, mates places, parties, just about everywhere pretty much. When there is a track day on or if I get an itchy right foot I have a 285RWKW R32 in the garage... And it feels stupid fast even whilst wheel spinning through the first 3 gears When you have a daily driver, the novelty of your track car just never wears off.
  8. If you come out to a QR drift practice you won't hit a tyre wall unless you are TRYING to. Barriers on the other hand are a different story (last 2 practices I cleaned up the barriers showing off in front of the crowd...) The next Friday night drifts at QR are on the 9th of May I think and then again on the 30th of May. Come out and have a go, when you are out on the track at night no one will be able to pick which car is you anyway, so even if you drive like a bag of shit (like we all do from time to time) no will really know
  9. Where are you located? I am interested in a pickup.
  10. $550 C.O.D to Brisbane?
  11. Couldn't get a PFC for my 25 so I went Microtech LT12S with plug and play harness and I bollocksing love it. Alot of people told me to they were shit and have terrible fuel economy, cold start, lose their tune etc.
  12. There is this product called Nil-odour it comes in a spray can or in a vile with an eye dropper. It's strong shit and will cover ANY smell no matter how bad.
  13. Can't wait for another Friday night slide. Have 3 sets of tyres to burn and one set to drive home on.
  14. I was considering a Hydro setup but if you properly tighten/adjust the cable handbrake then I have found no real need. Eitehr way, if you run a hydro on teh street it is illegal, even if you have the stock cable handbrake still functioning. The reason is the same as why you can't have a line locker kit, no tampering of the brakes.
  15. Yeah you lucked out with the $1kUSD on the invoice. If it was $999.99AUD then no duty or GST. No Fee to lodge a SAC if you are a broker
  16. Or get the supplier to give you a dummy invoice (less than $1k) and avoid all duties and taxes by clearing freight as a SAC. There is no Customs fee.
  17. Why did you opt to go the T2 style turbo? a GT3071R is what I would be looking at.
  18. Don't read too far into it. Just take the show at face value and it's good to watch/entertaining.

    Skyline Cruise

Yeah I'm in for this. Metting at Nudgee at 10:00-10:30?
  20. yeah well I'll take two.
  21. Items Still for sale? You have PM
  22. This leads me to my next question. What about wiring for the RB25DE? Can I use the existing wiring loom and ecu from my RB25DET? Can I swap the DET injectors over into the DE manifold? What compression ratio does the RB25DE run? I know a few people have done RB25 conversions this way on the cheap, so what kind of power will the DE tolerate with a decent tune? Finally, how hard is it to get hold of an RB25DE? Is my best bet to cruise the forums looking or just go straight to an importer?
  23. My guess as to why the rod broke is that who ever built it in Japan didn't want to fork out the extra dosh for forged rods and just got the stockos shot peened and treated. Also the rev limiter was set pretty f**king high for a stroked engine, (I just tried to stay away from it) and with a chipped ecu I could not change this as I was waiting for my PFC injectors and an EBC to all go in at once. I was so hoping for a spun bearing rather than a dropped rod, but alas they look to be in good condition. Especially considering the state of the oil that was in the engine when the car came over from Japan. Oil changes every 500km or so over half a dozen times and the oil was still totally pitch black after 100km or so.
