Pin drop? Uncalled for. I say let Ash speak for himself. Both R31 Nismoid and Jetwreck have solid points. Whats more I am pretty sure I know you both. Don't know about Linton. You're not coming off well my friend. The manifold. The original maker quoted me $9k to make another set. Fact. It would not cost that much to make a set in this day and age, but it would cost a fair bit more than some of the figures quoted in this thread. That is if you made them to the same quality, remember, these manifolds have been absolutely caned all of their life with no sign of sag or cracking. Show me another set of pipes that have put up with so much for so long. Hooks -

Floody's got it. Sand bent. And there are joins in the pipes but you can only see them when they are red hot on the dyno Lovely piece of work. Hooks -

The HR31 won the title in 1990. Richo only did the last 2 races in the GT-R (or was it the last round only at Oran Park?) The making of the manifold did involve sand. Hooks -

Faaark! What have I started? Some facts, Fact- that manifold is not mandrel bent. Fact- that manifold is not press bent. Fact- there are no welds in the pipe. Fact- they are designed to work better than anything you could knock up for $1500. Fact- they are not worth $9k Hahahaha let the games begi...er..continue, I'm enjoying this. I have my answer btw, and it is a fresh engine. Hooks -

Yes, and blockwork, oiling work, a huge amount of developement went into the extractors. Titanium valves, port work, cams, plugs, camwheels, balancing, Cosworth pistons. To get those extractors remade would cost $9k or so, the guy still has the jigs. Hooks -
If I happened to have a genuine complete Gibson motorsport RB20DET with the Gibson extractors and turbo, what would it be worth? I'm not saying I have got one, just wondering what the dollar value would be if one came onto the market. Hooks

My HR31 coupe got T boned on sunday. Passenger side. It's at the smash repairers now. NSW Australia. I found a door already but what I need is a rear 1/4 including the B pillar and a sill. The car can be fixed without these bits but will cost $$$$ and that may mean the car will be written off. I've had this car for 15 years and don't want it to die. Can anyone help? seen a coupe at a wreckers? Know of a crashed HR31? Please call. Mark Hooker (Hooks) 0405 279 725

All 3 are R200 mechanical lsd's. Prolly a little loose, take em to a good diff specialist and get em tightened up. R200s are great diffs. What I meant was there is no shortage of them. Lots O cars had em. 280/300zx's, HR31's, DR30's The zed ones come with a really cool alloy finned backplate. just got to do a little searching at the wreckers. Hooks

Can put my hands on 2 3.9 ratios, and a 4.1 ratio tomorrow.$400 each R200s aren't that special. Well, not $1200 special anyway. Hooks
-
$1200 is a bit on the nose. They usually sell for around $400 here in Sydney. Dr30 diffs are usually a 3.9 ratio too. Dunno if they are short or long nose, but I swapped a 30 diff into my 31 coupe. Bolt in. Hooks

The one I have not driven is the one with the #1. As you well know. But if memory serves, you have only driven 3 of the 4 in the picture Mr 'I've driven the Winfield GT-R around the Oran Park GP circuit at speed' Hooks

No speed limiter according to the Nissan guy. He even suggested putting it on a dry lake to see how fast. As for how many launches? Don't know. All he said was overseas they are getting bent bits and broken bits because of this. I would hazard a guess that they have not decided how many yet, and of course the ecu records all launches. Craig Lowndes was really interested in the car too. Came and looked at it twice. (should have offered HIM a drive) Hooks

Yes, there I was driving an R35 GT-R all last weekend at the Oran Park V8 supertaxis, mostly around the pits, but I got 1 lap of the gp circuit. Aaaanyway, spotted a young gent by the name of Dan, who, apparently, has something to do with this site. So he's now had a drive too. Nissan Australia loaned it to the Nissan Historic Race Team for a bit of solidarity, we had a few Gibson cars competing there in the GrpA/GrpC historics. Nissan Exa turbo, Bluebird turbo, PJ DR30 Skyline, 2 x HR31 Skylines, & the #1 Winfield GT-R Godzilla. It was a pre production Australian spec car. Red premium with the leather, Bose stereo and good tyres. A couple of facts. It does have launch control, but if you use it too many times, some things will no longer be covered by warranty. It has no speed limiter. It is really easy to drive- you could send your granny to the shops for milk in it. It's really fast. Really! This particular car will end up being crushed. I already offered another red car to be crushed if I could keep this one. No dice. This is a pic of me looking really smug Hooks

Having driven 3 of the 4, (no, I'm not as good as you Jetwreck) I'll take the one on the right. Hooks

Still pisses me off that they photoshopped the Winfields off it. Hooks

I screwed up the dates for the Skyline Nationals. Saturday is the 26th July, Sunday the 27th. We apologise for this mistake and will attempt to make all future posts factual. Thank you for your help in this matter. Hooks
