Does Anyone Know The History On This Car? Just Bought It
slinky-minky replied to skylinessuck's topic in Victoria
Doesn't look bad, looks rather clean and tidy. Seems like a decent price. -
I was watching some clips on U-Tube this morning that my partner had left open for me to have a look at, and it was called "How to get out of a speeding fine" ( ) and it got me thinking How have you got out of a ticket? My most shamed attempt of getting out a ticket was being pulled over in my BMW for having a cracked break/tail light lens (not only was it cracked it would collect condensation in there that lead to there being water sloshing around in there) my break light was also frequently out because like most other things on the car it was falling apart, I can't remember if my break light was out at the time (In the end we fixed it was a cable tie and a length of gal wire) so this it how it went Officer: Evening Miss, are you aware you have a crack in your tail light? *Officer pulls out a fine pad* Me: Do I? *Playing dumb and looking shocked* Oh, No Officer I didn't. Do you mind if I hop out and have a look? Officer: That's fine,it's the drivers side *Walks to back of car* *Opens boot* *Leans into boot and plays with some wires* By this stage I knew the cop had taken the bait was staring at my arse *closes boot and returns to car* Officer: I suppose I can let you go with a warning this time but make sure you get it fixed. Me: Yeah sure Officer. Bye I have also shamelessly told a cop that he's blue uniform went excellent with his eyes, and asked another officer if he works out. I only have 2 points left so I got excellent at kissing arse when I was driving that car

does it really matter how many posts the guy has?? and he's from N.Z so pay scales a different...

Hey everyone, I've been having a bit of whinge over the last few days that my car has been drinking fuel but it out did it self last night. From Bendigo to St Albans it went through half a tank of fuel, hardly any wind resistance, highway driving at 110-115kmh with no crazy breaking or anything unusual, except for the 3 minute wait at the lights on Main Rd. Tyre pressure is good, tyres themselves are in reasonably good condition, however there is a noise that I thought was wheel bearings or low diff oil and my mechanic says there all 100% but my tyres are just cheapo crap, so I filled my tank up again and it went through 1/4 tank of fuel over 10kms drive to the supermarket and back. I'm thinking my float might be getting stuck or something because it seems to drop in large increments rather then be a continuous drop.

Hmm...I will cross Adelaide off my possible place to visit list. I hate 40 zones! and I would probably get done 25 over the limit and loose my license if I went to Adelaide.Seriously you may as well just get the hell out and walk. Charlene- That's a freaking brilliant idea. My GPS is only 2-3 years old, went to Tarneit and couldn't find anything..stupid GPS with it's crappy maps, but the crappier part is the unit cost me $140....new maps are $160! Or another suggestion is possibly fixing all those huge holes in the Calder freeway between Kyneton and Sunbury/Diggers Rest exit there is that many holes, whole lanes closed and traffic dropped to 60 because it's so bad. I know where the holes are now so I just move around them but you see unsuspecting peoples front ends dip or people loose control momentarily

Xalmon- $80 a night isn't to bad. Average night for us was about $40-$50 bucks, plus about $3 tips working 3 nights a week doesn't add up to much. Tips usually consisted of someones 20C change. People don't tip in Bendigo they're stingy, and they usually ask for doggy bags if they don't finish all their dinner either.

You would expect it to be awesome. My partner wanted to go but I'm pretty sure he missed out on tickets, instead he's going to Soundwave in March, Iron Maiden is playing again. I really wanted to go but can't, got to much going on at the time.

Hey guys Sorry Coffee failed me while I was writing this, and I failed at explaining what I meant. I meant the inner break/tail lights. They had changed it so the inner set were indicators. I've never actually been behind a Skyline when it's breaks/tail lights have been on so I don't know for sure but I believe all 4 illuminate when you break but only the inner set work as tail lights, if that's true then what's the tail lights connected to? a 2 stage brightness on the break lights?
-
I saw a Skyline today that had changed the wiring and lens colour so the smaller inner round lights are being used as indicators. What do you guys think? Illegal or not? I didn't really like it, I think it takes it away from the traditional.

I actually like the new signage idea. I know my way around Melbourne reasonably well (I'm from Bendigo) but when we take Brenton's FTO to Melbourne it usually results him yelling "what fkn exit am I taking" "Flemington road, read the signs" "I can't I'm watching for traffic" LOL at the white GT-R. Loving the way it just flies by. Probably not good for our reputation though. "Look it's a Skyline...It must be speeding...Pull them over" The blue Commodore- If I did that in front of a truck I'd get my butt kicked, plus it's just damn annoying. Stupid gold Kia something or other did that to me this morning, it thought it was going faster then me, then realised their car couldn't get that far in front of me and they were heading for the arse of a truck.

Saw 2 Skylines on the way home from Uni today. Silver R34 coupe at the traffic lights of Mc Kechnie St/Main Road St Albans. stock GTT mags, Stock coupe spoiler, lowered, and some funky side skirts. Silver R34 at the roundabout on Sunshine Avenue & the road that goes to Taylors Lakes.

Joe- The poor girl is getting a massively raw deal, but I suppose it's catch ten for her. Some of them are quite dodgy indeed. What's the place you own/work for??? Is the food any good Worp3d- It wasn't THAT sort of place, it was a restaurant not a strip club or anything. Anyway that is just really degrading to chicks, stuff that there is much better ways of making money.
-
LOL Xalmon, waiters redefine the word underpaid. I worked in a chinese place as a waitress on a "cash in hand" wage, getting paid 8.00 p/h plus tips from the guys that I swear went there to perv rather then eat the food, only to get a letter from the taxation department several years later when their books got audited for tax fraud.

What Possesses People To Do Something Like This?
slinky-minky replied to jezza boii's topic in Victoria
stuff the stupid bitch! She deserves to be chucked in a fast moving river. I really can't stand people who hurt animals, they deserve the same treatment as they gave the animal in the same brutal fashion....and it should be video taped and put on u-tube -
Thanks for the words of wisdom Birds. It would make sense if it was the oxy sensor

Hi Baruna, Nice to meet you and welcome to the forum. I brought mine from a private dealer but mine is 100% stock (It's a GTv so no one bothers with them cos they're non turbo) There is another import yard on Edwardes Road Reservoir, just down from BMSRUS (BMW Wreckers) never dealt with them but I've noticed them a few times when getting parts for my Beamer. I'd agree with everyone else, check out the For Sales section on the forum. Depending on what you're looking at spending, one of the girls is selling her pearl white R34 for 15,000 from Vic

Sorry, I just realised I wrote registration, It's actually off your license renewal.
-
Anyone got any idea why my car would be running soo damn shit on fuel then?? Seems like everyone elses cars with turbos (I know they're not engaged all the time) are running heaps better. Am going to check the air filter today, checked my tyre pressure last night
-
Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. It's not the driving to Melb part I have a problem with cos I'm down there 3 days a week anyway, it's just that I need my car.
-
How about some rewards??? I'm more likely to not speed if I got a reward rather then a possible penalty. They offer 5% off your registration if you don't get in trouble, but that's not all that good. The more people stress about being fined the more congestion, they say it's to increase the flow of traffic, but your right it clogs it up more

I just tell it how it is Tangles. I'm only just still learning about how cars work, and it makes it much easier for me to remember understand and relate to it if I can think of it terms of the human body. Understand what you're saying about speeding, my partner and I comprised this little survey thing about what is worse on the road, and lots of people agreed that drinking and drugs was a lot worse then exceding the legal speed limit. If you're speeding you're aware of what you're doing and your concentrating, you also feel comfortable and confident in your skills and your car. IMO pot isn't good, I don't smoke it and I wouldn't. but however if it keeps the pain away why not. good that u don't smoke and drive

Very true Birds, no one I know is doing it for the money. So why do we do it? to "change the world" one patient at a time, personal satisfaction, bad experiences with nurses/doctors, cos we want to take care of people. I actually got a stupid look the other day because I made comparisons between a heart and engine
-
Nurses don't get paid that well, and it's 3 years plus a grad year. We never get paid for placements (which sucks cos it's cost me a packet in petrol) A lot of workplaces don't really encourage learning....especially if it means them paying for it. Nurses are well paid in comparison to some other occupations but teachers and child care workers don't have to put there hands in open wounds with nothing between you and someones blood, or putting their hands in a pregnant woman's snatch to try and gauge dilation. We do very gross things that most people cringe at watching on u-tube.
-
Just shows you guys aren't immune to it either. You guys can loose your license as well. Xalmon- stuff that! I wouldn't work those hours for less then $500 a week, and it's not just the hours it's the personal risk that you put yourself, risking exposure to diseases and general gross-ness

I know that feeling Kye, The guy at the tyre centre totally ignored me, and spoke to Brenton. These days I just take him with me and let him do the talking, it's much easier then being spoke to like you don't even speak English. I get sick of the amount of "fully sick" Commodores I see in Bendigo. I'm also very tired of having burgers/drinks tossed at my car, or people shouting "Get a real car" at me. Did you only get charged so little because you chose a basic colour?? My mums thinking about getting her Lancer re-sprayed the poor car looks pink these days. I think I saw you on the weekend, your Skyline is a Metallic Silver R33 with a wing right??
