  1. Get someone over 25 to drive the vehicle instead of you like your father. Easy........
  2. Congrats on the purchase, hope your enjoying the ride, i know i am. My service history was sent to me with additional papers even before i got the car delivered which i though was standard practice? Also, mine only had 7,767km's and it was 2 and a half years old so maybe mine was definitely wound back but the log book all verifies that its ok and not tampered with. Mine had a few marks on the stock rims which i wasn't too happy about as i was not told about this before bidding for the vehicle but this could have happened whilst in transit from Japan. Plus i have heard that the guys at the wharfs don't put much care into loading/unloading vehicles and they have been caught stealing things bits and peices out of cars so now security apparently escorts them or something? Thats what i was told anyway, whether or not that makes a difference who knows, probably not. Brake shudder is not normal, especially for a new car like that. Maybe get it checked oot otherwise it may lead to bigger problems like having to change the rotors, maybe your rotors need machining? Is yours a 6 spd manual?
  3. Mine came in at just under 8K km's so for a two and half year old vehicle its almost unbeleviable but i have the service history and all squares up ok. I would be dissapointed if it was wound back and from what i have been told, in order to wind back km's on a digital dash you need to remove it and replace with a new one, has anyone else heard of this before?
  4. Just got one in June this year. It cost me $47k-$48k on road. You will be lucky to get it for $40k just depends on how much you actually buy it for plus the exchange rate at the time but i must say they are quite scarce on some of the auction sites i have been looking at, its like they are getting snapped up and there isn't much to pick from these days. If the dollar keeps going the way it has been over the past week or so maybe you could get a better deal then what i did at .85c to the Yen and remember, you can get better exchange rate by transferring money via Ozforex (or similar) then some financial institutions offer, do your research and you can potentially save thousands when transferring large amounts of money. Good luck
  5. When i was getting my v36 comlied i asked the garage to change the oil, they did to a Penrite 0w-40 full synthetic. I wanted them to use Mobil 1 fully syn but they couldn't get it and i lived too far away to buy it myself and drive it down there to give it to them but i will be changing it soon within the next 3k so not too much of an issue. I cant say anything bad about Penrite but I've always been a stickler for Mobil 1 but i also dont use my car on the track just drive to work and back so it never or rarely gets a flogging although highway driving is what i do a bit more of. 6. I just bought a 08 370GT S manual for Y2,687,000 (keep in mindthis was FOB so not sure, also included Y200,000 for dealer fee) at .85c........this was a good time as our dollar was stronger back 2-3 months ago, i think your being way too ambitious but good luck........just keep an eye out on the japanese auction sites daily and when you find one you like then get someone out there to inspect asap.
  7. JapaV How long over due was your insurance? Usually what happens is you will receive your renewal and you have a certain time frame to pay it in, if you have an accident within that time frame you are ok as all you need to do is tell them that you were intending to pay it if they say anything and then put the claim in, then obviously pay your insurance. Because you were hit form behind you are not at fault, the taxi driver is, if they say it was you then the claims consultant has no idea what they are talking about and are trying to get out of paying. Also, becuase you have the details of the driver you will not need to pay your excess, they may ask you to pay but then need to pay you back as they have details which means they will either be able to subrogate aginast the taxi driver or his insurer. I used to work for a major insurer in Brisbane and am an insurance broker and deal with these issues all the time. If you need a hand or more info, let me know.
  8. Nice wheels...... with 20's are you able to drive without having to alter suspension? I think i have seen your car 2 weekends ago on Olsen Ave........? i dont think there are anyother v36 on the Gold Coast besides yours and mine. I have a white one 08 S manual, is your man?
  9. Thanks for the feedback. i love the look of those white Vossen wheels........ Cheers
  10. Hi Guys, What is everyones overall perception of the v36? Do we like/not like the appearance, engine, anything that anyone has heard in terms of issues (i doubt it) etc........mods i.e. torbo's, supercharges...... I bought one and took ownership about 2 months ago.........i love it! its an 08 Sports model with a 6 speed maual, white with just over 10k on the clock. i was very impressed with the v35's as my brother and i drove one about a year ago and it went like the clappers, manual also, silver but we didnt end up buying it, wish we did. Any comments/thoughts/others that have this model and want to discuss it in more detail/opinions i would love to hear from you. Cheers
  11. Hi Guys, i bout some new ku31's for $200 each from Option1 garage (225/40 R19 and 245/40 R19) 7 Remora St Hamilton QLD 4009 Phone: +61 7 3268 1113 Fax: +61 7 3268 2028 then just email/call and discuss price, i got them delivered to the comliance shop and even they couldnt get them at that price so they were a little shocked. I bought them about 2 months ago and cant complain, even in today wet weather the car hasn't slipped out on me as yet but a little bit noisy but its not annoying, any tyre will produce noise. Hope this helps. Cheers
  12. Hi Guys Im just new to the forum and this is my first post. Getting used to replying etc. I have an 08 Skyline 370GT S 6 speed manual and i get the same thing. When its cold theres almost like a cluncking noise coming out of the gear box, nothing serious or loud, no loss of power etc and when i picked it up she only had under 8k. I've looked into it and its normal for these boxes to be a bit louder, even when im changing gears from 1st to 2nd its a bit cluncky. Maybe i should take a 370z for a drive and see if its the same. Does anyone else have a v36 here? if so let me know so we can chat further. Cheers
