My Asuka had that, but it only recognised mp3 and certain avi/mpg. XBMC plays anything you throw at it...

Are you actually intending to watch TV? If not I suggest fitting a raspberry pi or some other cheap SoC carputer...it'll be 100x better then those crappy Asuka units. Unless you're dead set on watching TV that is

Hey, it was pretty easy since I just reused most of the existing wiring that was there for the Asuka tuner (RCA vid/audio in) My stag has the standard pop up display so I used that. All I had to do was wire in a USB port in the cubby hole near the rear gate. Also downloaded a CarPC skin with auto resume script so it remembers my last played position. Haven't been on for a while. But ripped out the POS Asuka TV tuner thing and replaced it with a RaspPi running OpenELEC with a custom skin...works a treat. All I need now is a GPS receiver and touchscreen overlay...
