  1. Ok, is there any reason most of the Chasers on carsales have very low mileage for their age? If they're all wound back then that's kinda freaky.
  2. So an NA 2.0L has more torque down low then a Turbo 2.5L? You're probably right about the gear ratios...they're quite short.
  3. Just test drove a GTT at Power Road....wasn't terribly impressed - maybe I wasn't used to the different throttle (the throttle/response in my mazda 3 is really responsive) but to get the car going I'd need to hit 3000prm...before then its kinda meh. Looks like I'll be getting a Chaser if its low down torque is really all its hyped up to be!
  4. Was down at importfactory tonight looking at a R34 GTT sedan. THe guy showed me a couple of chasers he had...one of them being a JZX110. He reckons it's probably one of the 1st to be imported/complied in Aust??? judging from the posts above...I don't think so...
  5. What's the 1JZGET like compared to the RB25DET? Similar displacement... What about the auto slush box? How do they compare?
  6. Visited importfactory (ex kamikaze) tonight and had a look at a R34 GTT sedan. While I was inspecting the car the sales guy asked if I've checked out any Chasers. Sheepishly I said no...and he showed me a couple he had in stock. I was impressed. Guy claims they are better built and had more low down torque compared to the Skyline... So....anyone's that's driven/owned both before - what's your opinion? I think I still prefer the Skyline's look...but the Chaser's got a tough/sleeper look to it...less of a cop magnet I presume? And before anyone suggest couple/2 drs - I need a sedan.
  7. http://www.importfactory.com.au/site/index...etail&id=30 Anyone used these guys before?
  8. Ok, another scenario. There's a R34 in Melb - imported/complied/registered in July. Rang the owner. He's got no compliance/import paperwork. Doesn't know where car was complied. Claimed he bought it off a friend and that he wants to sell it to buy a BMW. under such circumstances, would you purchase a vehicle based on inspection/test drive alone? I'm inclined to think something there's something dodgy with this car if its imported recently yet there is no paperwork for anything...
  9. Well, no, I don't really know what to look for. So you're saying that these papers are irrelevant, yet alot of people stress the "history" of the car is important; that its beneficial to check out the import paperwork. And now you're saying its not. And you're saying that the reputation of a compliance workshop has no relevance to the condition of a car, even though you mentioned in another thread that the compliance done on your Soarers was not acceptable. Well, I would think that if compliance wasn't carried out (fluids flushed/changed) correctly, then the drivetrain condition would be affected down the road? Like you said - its only worthwhile for me to inspect the car IF I knew WTF I was doing, which I frankly admit I don't know a whole alot apart from the basics, and that which has been mentioned on here.
  10. Looking at this car in QLD: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...3&silo=1011 The sender sent me the import docs: Can anyone tell me what they say? Anything of interest? I can see it said it had 32k KM....this was back in 2005. hmmm.... compliance done by Longden Enterprise. Are they reputable? img007.pdf img008.pdf
  11. So...I guess they're both Genuine GTT's? What else does the info tell me? sorry I don't know the paint and interior code...
  12. ER34023158 er34027988 Thanks!
  13. So only ONE intake mod allowed? I thought it was 2... Damn - was looking at a car in QLD which had FMIC/Filter/BOV. Was planning to get rid of the BOV...but if I had to get rid of the filter as well...
  14. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=12B9DE6BF35D I'm interested...just wondering if anyone knows much about it?
  15. Still interested, just doing a bit of looking around. My car should be sold this week... When I asked if I should do the state roads check, I meant "can I trust Powers Road's cars enough not to do the check", not "yep gonna buy it should I book in a checK"
  16. Should I book a full inspection with StateRoads to check out the car?
  17. Worse probably an accident damaged car...
  18. I spoke to the seller. He said it was complied via Kamikaze. Its not registered though...its in Campellfield. Am I allowed to contact Kamikaze and ask about the car? Or is that breaching privacy etc etc...?
  19. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=12B9DE6BF35D another one that caught my eyes. But the most likely fake K's, the crappy spelling and the hmm (no offense) name leads me to think it's gonna be dodgy. can a car be imported, complied and NOT registered, sitting on your doorstep?
  20. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer...id=12B9DE6BF35D Here ya go found it on carsale...lol he put it up as a coupe not a sedan...
  21. http://powerroad.carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/p...topDefault.aspx I'm in the market for a R34 GTT Sedan and came across this mob. They have a couple of Sedans for sale. I've read a few threads on them and they seem ok. I wouldn't pay $13k for it though...offer them 11.5k - 12k probably. I've seen 2 GTT sedans go for 10k on this forum in the past 2 months.... What do you guys think? Clean car? hard to tell with their PS'ed pics.
  22. You sure about that? The RB25 hits 255NM @ 4000 RPM....well before the 6A12 can put out its 200NM @ 6500 RPM... THe only thing is the FTO is lighter by around 200KG...
  23. As above - I've got 3 young kids. 2 are old enough to sit on the booster type seats. One is still in a full car seat setup with anchor point required. Is it possible to fit them into the back of an R34 sedan? I can do it in my Mazda 3 right now, and the R34 is a good 30cm wider. The only issue is anchor point placement and the raised middle seat....
