Well, She's gone, after 2 and a half great years with my trusty R33 GTR, she's now gone to a new owner who I hope will love and cherish her the way I did. Sad to say goodbye but just wasn't fitting in with the life. Must say though, replaced her with something much more sedate and understated but still an excellent car in its own right. Bought a Subaru Liberty 3.0R spec B, great car have to say, classy, smooth, strong and cops don't give me a second look. Can't stand to see GTRs on the street though, makes me sad.

Sold, Thanks guys.

R33 GTR wanders everywhere..
Gumby replied to dairyboy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had three people look at my alignment to no avail, it would track to the right constantly and tramline badly, One of them actually said the strut was bent causing a mis-camber. When I eventually changed the tyres to 255/40/17s all round, I had an allignment performed and all is perfect now, tracks true, trams much less and the alligment readout is perfect. And here I was thinking something had been damaged. BTW. car has Bilstein adj. coil overs. -
Delrich Lane in bayswater is in the process of an evaluation on one, should be close now as they've had it for a while. It will be for sale soon.
-
That doesn't sound that surprising to me, last time the GTR was in for some work, they leant me a mildly worked S2 GTS-T to go to work and the thing felt as quick as the GTR. Felt very different overall but in terms of accelleration...........not much in it. Now having the exhaust done, feels like it'd struggle against a stockie.
-
Nick, There's a wrecked 33 GTR in a Baywater dealer which has an untouched 29K RB26 in it, let me know if you're still looking for one and I can find out if it's still available. They are interested in selling it as the car is a write off.

Cocoa, paid $227 for res and test, don't know if that's what others paid but I asked 4 other places and they were all above $300 to get the SPL below 90. Happy enough what with a reduction of power an' all. Ahh.....compromises.
-
Hey I just had them install their 2 foot long invention into my Apexi, makes apparently 90db (I didn't see the readout), Sounds good, resonable price, good service, GTR feels like a Corolla now though.

Sorry guys, I beleive they do not fit a GTST as the rear mounts are very different. Someone may be able to confirm this but I'm quite sure. -
FS R33 GTR Apexi Coil Overs
Gumby replied to Gumby's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
OK Really want to sell these, and as I haven't had them on a car and can't guarantee the ride quality or condition, if anyone is interested, $650.00 for the set of 4. -
Anybody know much about resonators? I have to have the car tested by the EPA for noise, and not sure whether to go silencer or resonator. It needs to be effective to the tune of about 8 - 9 db and I want whatever would sap the least power. if anybody knows, much appreciated. P.S. They tested SPL at 5,000rpm, sounds high to me, wonder if anyone knows if this is the correct method of measurement or were they just trying to be a pain. Thanks.

FS R33 GTR Apexi Coil Overs
Gumby replied to Gumby's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Guys, If they're exactly the same as those I had (which they look to be), they are very firm, they were actually dropped of to me this afternoon and they seem quite good. When on the softest setting, they seem to make a little noise when cold which is what mine used to do. I spoke to the Apexi distributors in Vermont and they told me that this model was always like this, It normally took a couple of K's for them to quieten down, don't know if this is true, don't know why they'd lie to me though. Don't have the tools unfortunately and also don't know where they are servicable. I'd imaging the Apexi place I spoke to in Vermont, can't remember the name. Anyway, again, around B grade roads through some burbs, can be fairly tiring, once the speed rises or the corners need to be taken with aggression, they are fantastic performers. They'd be brilliant on the track. If anyone is interested, I'll take $780.00 as they're just sitting there taking up space. Cheers guys. -
Yeah, can't escape them, funny thing was when my wife came to pick me up in the Clio Sport, they started checking her headlights as they are Xenons, I got a little upset saying that they've just done one of my cars, let me go home, funny enough, they laughed and said, yeah, you're right, go home. Gotta Laugh.
-
Could've been worse, could've been in Doncaster where the Cops and the EPA had set up a boose/testing station. They picked every import that went past, i should know, cos, i waited there firstly for a ride home after they defected my car, then I went back to wait for a truck to take my car home as i wasn't leaving it out there through the night. Anyway, Skylines, Sylvias, WRXs, you name them, they were done for exhausts too loud. I thought mine was quiet, they measured it and it came out 99db at 5K. Also got me for having an Oil Catch tank. Why do I bother???

Twin Apexi BOVs for R33 GTR
Gumby replied to Gumby's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Yeah, it's very straight forward, boost pressure is fed to the BOV between turbo and throttle on the right side of the car, this is where you mount the Apexi's, two existing pressure lines are connected to the Apexi's. There will be a pipe (plumback) left to do nothing on the right side beside the IC pipe, this can be removed or left, doesn't matter 'cos you'll be blocking the pipe just out of the intake on the left side of the car. Feel free to contact me should you have any difficulties with the installation. Cheers bud. -
For sale, set of Apexi coil overs to suit R33 GTR, fully height and damper adjustable (Damper 5 or 6 setttings I think). Friend brought them over for me but they're exactly the same as what I had on the car before. So selling them, asking $900.00. Should have them on Tuesday. I'm in Melb. See Pic.

Twin Apexi BOVs for R33 GTR
Gumby replied to Gumby's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
More like a 2 hour job, pending skills. It took me 3.5 hours as I had to remove front bar and IC as the plumb back had been removed so had to get it back in there. $430.00 yours. -
Twin Apexi BOVs for R33 GTR
Gumby replied to Gumby's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
That's everything. The black pipe they're sitting on goes onto the existing feed and mounts in exactly the same place as the original with the bracket attached as seen in the picture. The 2 10mm pipes remain and connect to the Apexi's, and the little rubber block off goes onto the plumb back on the other side of the car between the filters and IC. Very easy to install, take out right HL and remove existing BOV assembly leaving 10mm pipes but removing connecting pipe to intake, this is replaced with a similar pipe approx 20mm shorter to accomodate new assembly. mount new stuff and connect pipes and adjust vents in BOV. Remove left HL and remove plumb back piping beside IC pipe. Attach provided block off and you're done, just have to decide how much noise you want to make and how quickly you want it to vent. Nice thing is the cops can never really see whether you have them on or not as it's out of sight. Don't know why I just wrote a guide to replacing them but gives you an idea of what's involved. Cheers mate -

Jag, car was taken from Ivanhoe at 9pm on the 13/06/03, just off Heidelberg Rd. Don't know what we can do but something has to be done before another one walks.
