  1. My old man has a 2004 D22 navara STR with the 3.0lt turbo diesel, manual 5 speed box, and it has been the most reliable car he has ever had. It is a work vehicle that tows 2 tonne regularly (once a week), and has done 250000 without anything major gone wrong. Perhaps it is the 2.5cr that isn't as good?, He tested both at a similar time and he said the 2.5CR (common rail) didn't "feel" as good as the 3.0. I also heard that the 2.5CR was primarily manufactured in Spain, while the 3.0 was made in Japan. Whether that has anything to do with build quality is anyone's guess.

  3. Have you tried GSL Rallysport at all? I'm pretty sure they deal with project mu so you might be able to get brake shoes through them. They have always been really helpful whenever i have needed anything, and there customer service is great.
  4. I might also take a reo, once i work out what one i need. I have a series 1.5.
  5. Hey mate Can you post pics or send me pics of both your Intercooler cores and piping that you have and the Greddy/Trust Exhaust? PM me if you can only send them by phone though, so i can send you my number. Cheers Matt
  6. Thanks for the post mate, so the optima's are fine to have laying down, well thats handy to know. Thought i was gonna have to mount it differently because they are a large battery. I already have a C TEK charger, usually have it on, just surprised after a week my battery was flat.
  7. I thought i would bump this thread, my car has chewed through 2 battery's in the past 12 months. The first one was a wet cell battery (car came with it) which died due to me not driving for 4 weeks when i first got the car, i put it on charge with a trickle charger, came back to it and there was acid in the boot, not to bad because i caught it just in time, but could have been everywhere. Have neutralized the acid, and prevented further rust, but i have to respray/clean up the boot and behind the rear passenger seats. Just light spotting where the acid dripped. And it has done it just before Christmas now, how convenient, usually it takes about 2/3 weeks before it goes low and i will usually drive the car before that happens, all it took was 1 week to go flat, so either my alternator is not working 100% or there is another cause? The new battery will be a Optima. While i have my boot completely emptied to respray during Christmas holidays, is there any electrical work i should be doing? I will be putting a new Nismo fuel pump in too, will the standard wiring be up to the job?
  8. Does anyone know if blade adjustable sway bars are illegal/defect-able? Just wondering whether i should sell them to clear some room in the garage.
  9. As others have said, it sounds like you might be missing hub centric rings. The studs affix the wheel to the hub but the centre bore locates (centres) the wheel. The centre bore of a skyline is 66mm, and you will need hub rings or as mad082 said "egg rings". They are available from ebay, you will need to check what centre bore the rims have and get the corresponding ring to fit over. For example Enkei RPF1's have a centre bore of 73mm therefore you would need a 73/66 ring, however make sure it is for a Nissan, cause other cars have a similar bore e.g. Holden has 66.9mm.

  11. Where are you located mate?
  12. Is it any good? Worth getting? Is it better than MW3?
  13. R33 Turbo, any condition. PM Me
  14. Thanks mate, might see if i can give the guards a bit of a pump to get that extra room aswell.
  15. Car had an alignment today, it was only slightly out. The car is sitting on bilsteins and king springs, it isn't as low as others i have seen, i can stick my foot between the wheel and the guard. With the new wheels pretty easily, at slow speeds aka 50kmh, on the stockies it did it only on corners that had a really bad dip during the apex (only in the hills), when the G's would have been at there highest.
  16. Put new wheels on today,(17x9+22 enkei rpf1s) and have ran into a slight problem, regarding those plastic guard liners. They scrap on corners that have either got a bit of a dip during the apex or slight elevation or while descending. If i remove them completely, is it possible for the wheel to still hit the guard at all? Am i able to push the guard out at all to stop this happening? It used to happen even with stock R33 wheels as well. Any info would be great.
  17. Its a good idea to get a compression and a leak down test, as a minimum before you purchase it. I used this when i purchased mine and it has lots of good info of what to look for. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/35129-im-buying-a-skyline-what-should-i-look-for/
  18. Good news and bad news for me today. Its been 2-3 weeks and i didn't get a fine while in the work van, bad news i think i might have got one leaving Tyre-power today trying to merge into peak hour traffic, 55 to 57 in a 50 zone.
  19. I bought mine over a year ago now, R33 GTST, and had all my filters, oils, fluids, etc done, after i had bought it, it cost me roughly $700-$1000 dollars cant quite remember, without the receipt. I had receipts of the previous owner doing the oil pump, water pump, and timing belt. I didn't have to get that done, but the total of that was roughly $1000 on the receipt, but it also had a new radiator put in as-well. All up its fairly expensive get that done, but i does give you some peace of mind.
  20. Rather take the points than the fine to be honest, but be interesting to see if i did get done, even now im still doubting whether i was over or not. On second thought they have changed it now haven't they, you get more points and less of a fine? Still thinking it was 1 point and 200plus fine for about 5-10kmh, its 2 points now and 150 or so?
  21. Nothing worse than thinking you got done, i reckon i went through a mobile one the other day on churchill rd, not to mention in the work van to make it worse. So im anxiously checking the mail box each day. Anyone know how long they roughly take to send out the fine?
  22. Thanks mate, will do.
  23. Bit more of a where to buy than wanted to buy and thought this was better than a new topic. Need some dry ice, preferable near town/city, don't want to travel to far for obvious reasons. Thanks in advanced.
  24. Not sure how valid my opinion in brakes are because i have only used the one brand/type of pads for my bike, not to mention it is not a road bike, but i use EBC pads for my RM250, and it pulls up nicely compared to when i first got it. There is not really a lot available for my bike in terms of brake pads, but i cant fault them in terms of stopping power. I only choose them because it was brand that is reputable, and i don't think ill be changing to a no-name brand to save a few bucks when these are reliable, and work well for my application.
  25. White Stagea on sunday arvo on grenhill rd and portrush intersection, was infront of me, not sure if you were waving in the mirror, sounded great when you gave it a bit at the lights. R33 with plates "sexc33" on main north rd, around 1:30pm on monday.
