I've recently installed a set of Tein Type Flex's after a long time deciding whether or not to go jap coilovers vs bilstein shocks/whiteline spring setup. I'm extremely happy with my choice as the Tein's are not too firm as most ppl said they would be. The springs are rated 6kg/mm front and rear with adjustable height and shocks. Cost me roughly $1800 all up to get into the country including tax so they're good value! Had to wait 8 weeks for them to arrive tho:P
The nissan service mechanics recommended a mate of mine to do his first oil change in a new Z at 10000kms. Does this sound right? I thought it would be best to change at 5000kms. What do you think??? Are the new engines designed to be changed at 10000???
Cheers
I'm pretty sure the LSD is stuffed if there is one in the first place. Can you tell by looking at it? when one of the rear wheels lift off it spins without the LSD ever engaging...so i guess its gone:(
Cheers
I need a rear bar cover and rear reinforcement bar. Preferbly white and around Brisbane but if you have one...please PM me even if its not.

Can anyone tell me about the LSD's in an R33 GTS-25T? I have read that the manual cars come standard with an LSD, however after fitting new coilovers recently I've found that if one of the rear wheels lifts up such as when going up a steep driveway the wheel without contact spins endlessly without the LSD ever engaging. Is my LSD worn or how can I tell if I actually have 1???
Cheers
I've got one in my R33 gts-25t. Don't know if it's better than others though. Looks good but it doesn't have anywhere to suck air from. The filter sits directly under the bonnet so it's probably designed best for vented bonnets.
GTR 1's won't fit mate. I've bought a set of Tein Type Flex for my ECR33. They seem like good value. I ordered through a Japanese company and should be here any day. The cheapest Tein's are the Super Street and they should do a good job. Nengun's prices are competitive.
Nolimit...Firstly think about why ppl think you sound like a school kid before asking them to take chill pills. Perhaps your views and arguments are expressed in a manner that others conceive as being 'school kid' like.
I've looked after and driven a MY00 rex with about 20g's spent on performance and much preferred my r33 Gtst although it is much slower. Maybe I'm biased, but i think Skylines are much more refined and feel better to drive.
4.7L???? Can anyone verify this. I put in about 4L and the dipstick is about halfway. Should you measure the height of oil in the dipstick when engine's warm after letting the oil settle for a few minutes or right after you turn the engine off????
They should be soft enough for Aussie roads. Search for bilstein shocks and you'll find a discussion regarding spring rates most optimal for aussie roads. Sydneykid gave a fewe good tips there. They are the softest coilover kits that tein offer (F4k/R4k) i think. They were released only a few months ago this year so it may be unlikely that many ppl have them yet. They are well priced compared to other kits but are marketed as an entry level product so probably are not great for trackwork, but good enough for the street. I have bought a set of Tein Type Flex which are on there way.
Well I guess i was lucky then. I had my fines still outstanding when i renewed my license at QT. The lady looked at the computer and told me that my license would probably be suspended, however she still gave me a renewal for 1 year which was was Opens. I did expect to be suspended after i paid off the fines but haven't been. That was 2 years ago and I've still got my license. I was told by a friend who was studying criminal justice or something that there is a loophole where if you paid them more than the fine they would send you a refund by cheque. As long as you didn't bank the cheque the payment wouldn't be processed and point deductions would not apply. I find this unlikely but hey...you've got nothing to lose.
Had this problem on both rear lights when i got my car...just take it out and reseal with windscreen seal as long as it's not cracked. Make sure you don't get something that will set and make it impossible to pull off in the future. It could also be the seals on the joints at the back of the boot just above the lights, but they don't usually crack unless you've had a prang.
