  1. I need to get my ass into gear...
  2. MISSED IT! I guess i should log in more often... Would have jumped on board..oh well...NEXT TIME ! My water injection install is about 90% ....Should be all complete by next ride...fingers crossed!!
  3. Hi guys, I got my hands on a v35 premium a few months ago. Its quite impressive for being n/a. I think it will be a sin not to release a few more kw, so I'm mapping out the things that would add power and gona take it slow and see how she goes. I've done a few mods, ie. A/v inputs, tv tuner, screen bypass, intake tube. I've removed the spare, added a small compressor with tyre goo bottle, so im a little lighter now. The Exhaust and plenum spacer will close the book on the basic mods. Then after that I'm in no mans land. I am an electronics technician by trade, grew up in Doncaster (Melbourne) and work in port Melbourne. I'm lakeshore slate, dark tints, you can't miss it amongst the bommodores out there. If you see me cruising down eastern, pull up a lane and throw a nod my way.
  4. Damn, if you just started the thread with " I don't know sh!t guys I aint gona pretend I just got cash and want to freak up my bitch and this is what Im up to, what's next" then this whole thing would be different.
  5. My girlfriend had a tt and whenever I drove it I felt like I was on gaydar patrol. It's definatelly not a masculine car and it doesn't have that aggressive look. It's overpriced and I'm surprised it's not as powerful and cars in the same price bracket. I had an old bommodore slightly worked and kept up with it.
  6. Mine's a 2005 so I gotta wait until English conversion gets created, grrrr.
  7. The best position i have found for my back antenna is pushed right up in the left corner of windscreen. From inside sitting in front seats you can barely see it as the angle of the roof lining hides it and its also not visible from outside, my tint is super darker than most though. The asuka looks mad. Shame to cover it up.. Before you bolt everything down don't forget to set up your screen bypass. Use the PCB "cont1 (or cont2) to grounding" method by pete. Ive fed a tiny switch to my armrest and this works the bomb. Here is one of the great discoveries in bypassing your handbrake and speed sensor.
  8. Good to see you got one working anyway. You've got me curious now I'm gona kill the thin wire and see, but I'm certain it's for gain nonetheless. Can I ask where you tapped 12v from? There should be a small white plug that is sitting unattended about a foot from the jap tuner, it's got a clean 12. I'll take photos of my second aftermarket antenna and where it's tucked away. If you plan on adding a rear bumper antenna there's a little grommet slightly left of center on the inside edge of the boot panel. It's used for the numberplate bulb wire.
  9. PC-DIY box hill, and MSY round the corner..
  10. The quad diversity tuners are VERY expensive. There is one produced by das called das-m42 and it is pretty much second to none but it's around 700 euro.
  11. Ok, there are 2 plugs. One has a cable pair both fat and other plug with a pair fat and thin. The furthest plug from unit is the pair with fat and thin. The Fat is an aerial and it should work. Trust me I have it running. The thin one is used for power when the tv selection is made from your console. When switching back to cd or radio the 12v feed is switched off. More than likely it is for gain. Feed it with 12v when your receiver is switched on and that should do you for one good aerial. The second plug, one with 2 thick cables are also aerials as their connections on the isdbt pcb board have ant3 ant4 printed. I tested one briefly and didn't get anything so I need to test further and trace where they go in the car.
  12. Due to the fact that there are now so many dodgy cheap dvb-t tuners swamping the market, we need to be careful of the false claims some units are offering. If you want to have "watchable" tv you need a diversity capable unit, period. If it's got only one antenna input forget it! If it has 2 inputs and claims diversity you need to find out what chips are used to control it and what "type" of diversity. MRC (Maximum Ratio Combining) diversity is what you need, as this uses all antennas together. Yes the asukas have MRC, that's one major reason why they were good. Doppler compensation is a bonus, this is a ic specific capability. At the moment Dibcom chips are quite good, I think the 9090 is their latest chip and it's highly recommended. It's not much advice but at least gives you some things to look for as units these days seem to be a Jack off all kinda trash.
  13. Possible solution: http://e31wiki.org/wiki/One-touch_turn_signal_module
  14. You might be on the ball with it being aftermarket. I spoke to the guy that has it last night and he said he definitely has a triple blink system happening. He doesn't know how it's set up. I'm thinking of running a tiny 555 timer circuit on the indicator line before it hits the bcm. That might hold it on for a set period. Hmmm...
  15. Thanks for the quick responses. I might look into it further, would be an interesting find. My girlfriends got a fresh 2010 vw golf and it's a nifty feature. I wouldn't trade my coupe for the world though.
  16. Hi guys my v35 2005 coupe doesn't triple flash when soft indicating for lane change. I know that it is definitely a feature because one of the v35's I test drove while looking around to buy had this on. I'm thinking there might be a setting in amongst the nav vehicle info screens somewhere but it's in jap so I'm at a loss.
