  1. Got one thanks. Mods can delete please.
  2. Question: How effective is the factory snorkel intake on our cars? I am toying with the idea of building a custom airbox around the pod and want to run the snorkel to feed it as well. I stuck my hand in as far as it would go without being crushed and there seems to be bugger all room in there. This was with the bonnet almost closed....so that would become even less with it fully closed ??? Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
  3. Thanks Wheel specs are 18x10 +5 with 285 35 18s on the rear and 18x9 + 20 effectively on the fronts with 245 45 18s
  4. Hey Amir...all the best with your build....do you have the factory snorkel (air intake) for sale by any chance?
  5. Chasing the factory airbox snorkel for a s2 r33gtst thanks
  6. I managed to solve the brake issue with the help of Aury who I interacted with through facebook....his explanations and patience was commendable what with me sending pictures with weird descriptions and having never done any brake work before......particle of rock had somehow wedged itself between the pad and the rotor....left a nice gash on the pad too (which thankfully was not too deep. Right pad with the gash running through it.... So quite happy that it was a relatively easy fix in the end. AND Side view of the fender work From the front and From another angle The other side
  7. Also a big round of thanks to Joe, Emily and the crew @ Kustom Panel & Paint for a brilliant job yet again. You guys are seriously pushing the boundaries of customer service and quality work !! Cheers.
  8. So some good and bad news. Went to pick the car up yesterday. Packed the new wheels into the run-around and headed off Reached the shop.....car looked amazing. Fitted the new wheels and it looked absolutely perfect. Then tried driving out and was greeted by a screeching sound coming from the right rear. After a lot of investigating including jacking the car up and spinning the wheel by hand etc. narrowed it down to the pad rubbing the rotor....which means one of two things as there is plenty of meat on the pad and the rotors are not warped or anything, namely; A. The dust and dirt from lying at the panel place for two weeks has wedged itself between the pad and the rotor hence causing it to rub and screech. B. The caliper has partially seized and needs rebuilding. Was too late to investigate further and I have three free tows left so decided to get the car towed home. Will get the wheel off and have a better look this evening. BUT - I love the way she sits at the moment....aggressive and absolutely beautiful :)
  9. ^^^ You suffer from the same problem as me.......good car but bad camera......also why is your wing tilted upwards so much? Following the rules - I should not chat and post pictures only so here goes................... Missing my car......been a week
  10. Tyres fitted and ready to rock and roll......Thank you Aaron for a great chat. Still highly recommend this chap.
  11. About time this happened !!................. Quick picture while dropping the car off this morning to have the wide fronts fitted. Time to get excited !! Tyres are getting fitted on the new rims tomorrow (thanks to Aaron @ Westys)
  12. Being put back together Also I think I may just have gone a bit too dark on the indicators....but I can still see the stock bulb light up even in bright sunshine..so hoping that it will be perfect when I swap with LEDs. I will get the white surrounding bits painted when I have the fenders done so the white bits you can see around the lens will be blacked out properly. Will take close up pics when I put the LEDs in.
  13. Indicators being tinted (I actually typed injectors before lol)...... Dropped the rims off to get the centres resprayed (BIG thank you to Simon from Autocraft) (BIG because the experience thus far has been excellent with Simon being the first person I have encountered in a while who keeps to his word - where a set time is actually a set time and I don't have to wait / also for willing to do it on overnight notice !!) Enough dish??? Aaaaannnnnndddd he works fast - centres already out
  14. They say good things come to those who wait....... I must have been waiting for a long time !!
  15. Considering this kind of applies to me in real life........just ordered one for myself
  16. "Too many things on my mind all at once.....plans are all jumbled up and confused.....need clear direction....must focus....work to a target......have to get organized !!! " Plans for the immediate future: - Book the car in for the wide front fender work. - Tint the indicators / get orange led globes (brighter) if required Plans for the short term: - Fit rear tyres (285s) on my new rims which fingers and toes crossed arrive by the end of next month - Move current rear rims and tyres to the fronts (might need to run a spacer but we shall see) - Actually commit to installing the new coilover suspension (which in honesty I have not done yet because I am waiting for the new rims to be fitted first) - Get around to repainting the wiper stalks and weather protector bits as they are starting to show wear in bits (seemingly I am the only one who can actually see this as nobody seems to notice unless I tell them where to look and they peer closely - yes I am a bit loony I guess) - Wrap the plastic dash surround in carbon look wrap to see how it looks OR have it plasti-dipped black carbon Plans for the long term: - Swap existing coilpack and valley covers with the new painted / graffiti ones - Research changing to either a Greddy or Plazman forward facing plenum (solely for looks really) - Research converting to running E85 - Get around to tidying up the engine bay a bit more and going braided lines etc. and thus begins the difficult task of actually trying to keep to this and saving accordingly...wish me luck
  17. Indicators arrived this morning
  18. Warm water wash with soapy (car wash) solution and microfibre noodle sponge....Medium cutting compound polish with soft buffing pad (paint is from 1996 and fairly soft being Jap) ....sealant and wax (hand applied and lightly buffed with polishing microfibre towel).......Swissvax polish and Dodojuice/ P21S Concours Carnauba Wax Oh and also tried Meguiars colour care (in red) and Meguiars ultimate polish which did add a bit of depth to the colour initially but nothing flash really and tough to use compared to Swissvax.
  19. Be on your guard LOL....updates will be coming soon...going in week after next. This is indirectly related.....but I practised some paint correction on my bunky this morning and thought I would post some results. Used an orbital buffing method for the first time so was keen to get some practise before working on my car. The red hue is the natural tinge of the polishing compound...... Was a painstakingly slow process though as I experimented with different techniques to find what worked best.... half half shot Quite impressed with the results actually
  20. Just picked up a set of indicators off a guy on Gumtree......so thanks to Daniel Going to spray them with VHT tint spray (or some such) and they will go on the new fenders for the look.
  21. Got the rears from Viva Garage Cameron. Had a lot of mixed opinions with their quality etc. so was not very sure when I first ordered it but it turned out great in the end so I guess it is a case of hit and miss really. The fronts I got off Joel (off FB) so no idea where they are from but took them to my panel place just then and it lines up well and quality is seemingly great so will have them on in a couple of weeks.
  22. Picked these up this afternoon....thanks Joel Bring on the widebody front
  23. NO YOU CANT MATT !! Stop being a dingbat !! and OCD and me.....rubbish....lol
