  1. Picture I took the other day when I went for a drive C'mon and hurry up Wednesday !! Really very very interested to know how much difference the new sway bars are going to make.
  2. Yeah....wrapped a hard bit of metal with soft cloth and after heating the guards held the outsides with a fair bit of force and let loose with a fairly heavy hammer on the insides. We tried the left rear as one bit and boy was it a pain in the arse !! Halfway through we decided to cut sections and man did that help. The right was a breeze with this new technique and wrapped up nice and tight. A good job overall and definitely no scrubbing etc...even when it squats while launching Yeah had the guard roller but ended up not being used.
  3. Gave the rear guards some good old fashioned "hammering" this afternoon....works a treat if you grind little cuts strategically along the "metal lip" bit which basically allow it to bend backwards in sections rather than attacking the whole piece as one - (as Brad and I found out halfway through)....should not chew up the tyres now. There was a little bit of paint flaking from the undersides despite our best efforts with the heat gun. You could not really see it unless you squatted on all fours - but I am crazy....so a light sanding and rattle can spray job was done on the insides of the lip and the underside of the arch.
  4. If you want I have some for sale - 5mm, 7mm and 10mm (GKtech - black) and 7mm (slip on silver ones)
  5. Swaybars are arriving early next week - car booked in for Wednesday morning (YAY!!) Might be getting my guards rolled today (if all goes well) or possibly next week as well...so can get the rears out a bit more and possibly lower the car a tad.
  6. Yeah thats for sure Justin....I have read up a fair bit and for what I gather the stock fronts are 18mm so if you go a 24mm solid or 27mm hollow front they are more than sufficient and rears should be 20 solid at the very least to make any significant difference - though I have ordered 22mm solid anyways. No clue when they will get here though bummer
  7. Bored of waiting for the sway bar install and the wing is still work in progress so took the car out for a drive this evening.....few pictures That ass Kicking myself for not taking my camera...was such a nice evening !!
  8. Thanks for the heads up Dale.....btw - what are the disadvantages of going with a 20mm on the rears?? Is there a massive difference in performance etc. Will it even be noticeable? They have access to the fronts..waiting on the rears (want 22mm).
  9. Paid a deposit for the bars this morning....looking at a 3-4 week wait..bloody WA !!
  10. Getting some Whiteline swaybars next......24mm and 22mm front and rear respectively...adjustable. Thoughts / suggestions / anything I need to know?? Reliable sources tell me they are possibly the best bang for buck upgrade suspension wise.
  11. Once you go black you really do never go back..........
  12. Keeping with the stealth look under the hood I swapped pod filters this afternoon....... Engine bay still needs major sprucing up and is only quarter way done...with the rocker covers next on the list for a nice black refresh !!
  13. I LOVE THEM TO BITS...... Just needs a fraction more aggressiveness on the rears...which I will achieve as soon as I get the guards rolled. Yeah the wing is a radical idea to say the least....I am hoping it pays off !!
  14. Tried...but got more love from pete who gave me some suspension tips..the tall dude whos name i cant remember who chatted for ages about his big block chevy and new zealand and the most from rob the alignment guy who everyone seems afraid of...lachlan was probably having an off day...lol....overall a good experience
  15. Backing out now sorry........Getting my boot and wing custom made
  16. Then drove down to the boys at WA Suspensions and got my meisters fitted and aligned. You can see the Ganadors here actually. Played around with a few spacer combinations....
  17. Budding artists at work...... Measuring up...
  18. Very very productive day so far. Woke up bright and early with the sun streaming in. Just knew it was going to be a warm one. Polished up my new Ganadors and proceeded to install them (you know your obsessed when you start car stuff before brushing your teeth!!) First step: remove door trims... Passenger side: Three screws down at the bottom of the door panel. One screw inside the little plastic pocket thing and one screw underneath the passenger side handle / arm rest. Drivers side: Three screws down at the bottom of the door panel. One screw under the switch plastic panel. Both sides door release plastic surrounds need to be pried off. Then remove plastic triangle to reveal three bolts holding mirror in place. Remove and unplug mirror. Plug Ganadors in, secure wire and put it all back together. Did not get a picture of the mirrors...but will post some when I do the photoshoot (sometime soon) Then started fabrication work / planning for the GT wing project.
  19. Getting my wheels fitted and aligned by WA Suspensions tomorrow....excitmentness !!
  20. Picked up these bad boys this evening ( again Jarrad). They do need some TLC which I have lined up for later this week.
  21. Update: Bought a stock boot lid off Jarrad ( ). Project GT wing has begun !! WOOOHOOO!! Also....earlier this evening Aaron from Westy's Warehouse went out of his way to fit and balance my new tyres and finish everything today itself - absolutely sensational service and top bloke. ..and....I will not need that spoiler on there...so if anyone wants it....it is for sale..chuck me an offer.
  22. oh shoot...sorry didnt see this....okay all good...please put me down for a carbon fibre one. What are freight costs like? When do you need the deposit etc? Also just confirming - this is for a FLUSH boot lid correct. Thanks
