Thanks heaps.......looks good...will factor in postage and painting etc and see if a DIY / fabrication option is more feasible. -

Thnx for the heads up..been searching but all i could find were carbon fibre ones..do they do them in fibre glass?? Judging by the price of cf ones i thought it was prudent to just fabricate my own or have fun while creating at the very least -
Thread revival..hahaa...did you end up doing this?

Fabricating A Modified Wing And Fitting
jez NF replied to jez NF's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
It looks awesome...i plan on making it flush first and then mounting the wing..if u look at my build thread i have explained the plan..also are you saying that if i buy a bootlid with no lock it will bolt straight in and clip lock? -
Any help, suggestions and advice welcome. So I want to fit an R34 Gtt wing onto my R33. I want to get a spare bootlid and mount this wing onto the back of it. Questions: 1) How do the locks work? Can I interchange the bootlids (my current one and this new one) which will naturally have a different lock and key and simply bolt on. 2)Is it possible to get away with not having a lock? Will the bootlid just sit closed or will it bounce open etc? (sorry if this sounds really stupid - but I have no clue) In this case I would simply patch up the hole (weld a bit of metal) and paint over it. Any other ideas??? Thanks

Keeping in mind my obsession for as long as I can remember with the "GT" style wing ^^^^^^^^ ...I just could not resist when I saw a black one for sale on here. Picked it up on Saturday morning - Julian !! Best of luck with your project and was nice to meet you and chat. So this is going to be my next project when I take my two weeks off work. Just around the corner actually come to think of it !! Going to get another boot....flatten the edge so that it is all flush and then mount this wing on with EXTENDED STRUTS so that it is nice and high. Will naturally not keep it on the car for daily driving but plan to have it as an option for when I feel like. If you look at the picture above I want the wing to sit about 2 inches lower then where it sits at the moment - so nice and high but not so high that you can see it over the top of the car if you look at it from the front. It is wider then the GTR one so I am looking forward to being able to see it protrude nicely from both sides when you look at it from the front. Will be looking for a stock boot lid for sale now - so let me know !! Any colour is fine as it is going to get modified and then painted. -
Tyre specs please?

Cheers Josh.....yeah thought long and hard about the colour choice.....gloss black with silver lip lost out by the smallest of margins Murdered out look is too common with all the falcadores and subivos so sticking to something different that works for me. Update: Change of plans with the tyres. Was not confident with the sizing options so went to speak to Aaron @ Westy's Warehouse this morning...undoubtedly a TOP BLOKE !! Great advice - heaps of patience with my umpteen and annoying questions - helpful and friendly. mate...cleared up a lot of doubts and clarified a lot of information. Stay tuned -

Thanks mate. Worth their weight in "gold" -
Silly question but humour me...is it okay to top up with a diffrrent brand etc..dont have a clue what is in there at the moment

I would like to clarify a few things with you. Please do not take this the wrong way and THIS IS NOT A PUT DOWN...and while I respect that everyone has their opinions....... .........However since you were quite "animated" with your response I would like to point out that every single manufacturer / website or person I have interacted with have mentioned that a 9 inch rim should have anywhere between a 235 and 255 tyre !! So first of all running a 265 on a 9 inch rim does not meet your own definition of "roadworthy". Richards tyrepower suggested a 225 (without me saying a word about any size) just for your information and I have the email correspondence. So please do not shoot them or we will know it is you !! hahahaa Anyway you rightly pointed out that insurance will be affected with the wrong size tyre and I accept that and thank you for your input. I have ordered 255 35 18 Ku31s from Tempe ($200 delivered) for the record for the rears. They are out of the other sizes at the moment.

Pulling this up from a year ago but did you ever fix this problem....mine started doing this exact same thing this morning

Still in due of a fresh coat of paint then im guessing? We should get OON (is he back in town?) and finally do our photography session !!! I want to get one done as soon as the new rims go on and I tidy up some bits and bobs under the hood. -
Thanks people !! Getting KU31s from Tempe - 255 35 18 for $200 each delivered...thought it was an awesome deal so jumped at it

^^^^ Personally just like the look of a broader / wider tyre at the back. Also more grip in a rear wheel drive would'nt hurt I suppose. Apparently one school of thought (you know who you are) also suggests that a broader rear tyre and skinnier front gives you more stability, helps cornering etc - which I have my doubts about - hahaa... BUT to answer your question...just looks really Btw....been meaning to ask - still got the red devil? -

Ordering my tyres this week from Tempe......Ku31s - 235 40 18 and 255 35 18 (some really awesome pricing). Getting them fitted and balanced and will also get a wheel alignment done down at Killer Kustoms itself. Went in this morning for a peak - they look awesome !! -
Heya fellas, Where do you get your tyres from? Been doing some research (and my homework) and ordering online is a good $200 odd cheaper for the sizes I want. Is there a catch? Ozzytyres, Tempe - awesome deals Taleb Tyres - not too bad either Please share your thoughts / advice etc etc...happy to be "shown the ropes" Thanks
