Might be able to see some Coolant residue, that area should be dry but last couple of days has not been the case.

Noticed some coolant on top of my radiator around the edges, does not seem to be coming from the centre. Futhermore i can here hissing noises coming from the raditor cap (sealed tight). No change in Engine tempreature and coolant level seems to be okay just wandering if these are signs thats its useful life is over.

Good advice, thats pretty much it a hi-flow cat and your set i dont do noisy exhausts myself i prefer to listen to the engine.

If GTR is your goal thats fine, i have no goal i dont even know what i want i just know to have money when the time comes i didnt plan a R34 25GT just happened walking through a caryard. so just focus on the money bit for now.

Another thing buy whatever you can afford, if your after speed 0-100= 8seconds on a good day and 1/4 mile i have seen 15-15.5 seconds out of a NA R33 with zorst and other p-plate mods done to it. So not a street machine, if your just after a nice cruiser get a R34 preferably fresh import and drive that for 3 years and upgrade to something else it what im doing and going to have done next year. So happy i didnt follow these peoples advice to buy some thrashed out sh!t box lol.

out and about after a month of sittingin the garage. came accross this cool agricultural looking place in my area i have never been to before, looked like something out of country side of china or japan so stopped for a picture.

i pinpointed the area the smoke is coming from, and i provided picuture with the red circle to show where its coming from ! i took it out today for at least half an hour of driving with no drama, my first stop light was embarrasing you could see the smoke lifting from the bonnet, but im happy to see its smoking up less and less. Its gotta be the oil that escape on the first sealing thats causing this.

Its a non turbo, and its the right hand side cam cover at the back near the fire wall where the leak occured. Shluld be the exhaust side from what i know the one closest the airbox. anyway it stops steaming as soon as i stop the engine

Changed my rocker cover gasket then l put everything back together on rb25de neo and go to start her up, runs happily for 2 minutues then i notice she is losing oil from right hand side cam cover, i freak and turn off the engine as it started to get smoky. i said screw this ill work in to the night and pulled evetything apart again and noticed where it leaked the screws wete very tights and thats a no no for cam covers so i took the cam cover off and put gasket in again and tightened it up but not to two tight this time and started the car up again. but this timts smoking the same area but i dont see any large oil dump like last time. Could it be the oil on the manifold steaming up ? Any suggestions or thoughts will help thanks.

Royal Purple is actually purple oil, i know because my mate puts it in his S15 and we were pouring his 5 left over bottle with about a liter in each into one bottle so it can be taken for a service. I was confused why and how they do it lol, purple additive ?

the question is how long does it take you to reach 5000km.....i do about 5000-8000km a year so i change my oil about once a year. Whats $100 oil change once a year with the good synthetic stuff.....after 10 years i wouldnt have enough to buy a NEO RB25DET at todays prices which are about 1500-2000 dollars. If you rack up 15 000km a year (about the australian average might be more) then i would see why i would be reaching for the $30 dollar stuff. I did my oil change at 4000km last year because i did so little kilometers during the year i didnt want to be driving with one year old oil in the summer, still looked like new on the dipstick.

I see thanks for the info !, however the power to weight ratio is going out the window soon as they start to modify ! would be interesting if police started using dyno's on p-platers who are running turbo cars, if they get sus about stealth mods. Im pretty sure NSW is just a blanket ban on anything with a turbo for a few exceptions like smart cars ! some NSW p-platers hoping that NSW adopt the victorian approach.

Wouldnt buy a NA skyline to modify...maybe if your interested in suspension, Brakes and Cosmetics. But Motor is a big No NO ! the car is to heavy. But otherwise from my experince with R34 NA they drive nice and feel sturdy ! but dont pack a puch like the Turbo's (8 second 0-100). My advice is if your going to spend $$$ get a S2000 seriously its the way to go if you want speed and fun ! only thing its 2 seater so your mates will give you shit.

Ebays ! sometimes i see kits going for about 1.5 grand. But why bother going manual with a non-turbo car ? the time and costs that could be put into buying a manual turbo charged vehicle when your off your P-Plates. My advice if you want it or not is stay Automatic if you cant live with a automatic car sell and buy manual ><.

sounds about right 14-15k for average R34 GTT. Would ask for stock steering wheel back if still has !. KM's dont mean anything in my book, how it was driven is more meaningful E.G spent crusing on a freeway is better then some stressed out Low KM city mileage car.
