  1. It would be useful if the tracking company would release a map of low/hi range areas.. however, I am guessing this would probably benefit the theif more than the owner.. but it would be always good to know that your car is in range of the tracking company. In regards to quicktrak, one of my dads friends had a large ownership in the company (probably not anymore due to the ****ty share prices) and the way he described the system was that the tracker is actually very very small and on every install it will be located somewhere different -- obviously this is up to the installer / customer as well. The impression I get is that if you have quicktrak, the only way it can be stolen succesfully is if they somehow know where it is installed (inside job) or they know you have quicktrak installed and can move the car to where it will be out of tracking range.(inside job / workshop who services car / friends / family etc) You would assume that if a theif didnt know that you had quicktrak and just disabled your main alarm, they would eventually be caught driving the car , or storing it - unless they are extremely lucky. Also, i think the insurance companies acknowledge this too and sydney people especially see pretty good discounts if they have the system installed. dave.
  2. you would still have the stoves at nighttime and on braking ,
  3. yeh i am. i have a 33 coola already but i think its a tiny bit too big for a top mount... but looks like that is what I am using... but now I am contemplating putting a 1UZE or 2JZ engine in my 4wd.. sooo.. anyway, if you come down to the bbq, bring the coola so I can compare - just in case its a better fit. thanks.
  4. all on private roads of course. lexus ls430 - 240km (hit the speed limiter) lexus is300 - 200km (hit redline in last gear :-() nissan silvia s15 - 210km (with not much legs left) proton satria gti - 205km (redline in last gear) and my proudest moment toyota starlet 1.3l - 190ishkm/h (down a big big hill right off the speedo, that was damn scary, i had speed wobbles)
  5. looking closer i might have to take my comments back... if u look at the reflection it seems that they are clear there.hmmm.. would be interesting to see what they look like, especially on a dark car..
  6. if u ask me it looks like a photoshop job. You would expect to get red reflection from the reflector, not white I would assume. Also, if it is white reflection then they would be illegal.. soo..
  7. meet 12:30.. leave at 1pm (always stragglers) do a backwards run of mad mt. (short version if people want) 3:00pm.. arrive at boxcar racers house. then eat and chat etc.. people can then leave from there as they need to. This would also give birty a chance to do the mad mt run, and then head home.. maybe this should be posted in qld so everyone sees it.
  8. It is.. but i am pretty sure they have moved on from their rb30 bottom end to a full rb26dett setup. and in speed they refer to it as it is.. a r33 GTS......... KamikazeR33.. GTS covers but the gts and the gts-t when people write / speak about them.
  9. hmm.. interesting rant slip. You at work?? But yes its very true. Too often hear people in 1.6litre cars saying they lost a race etc cos they didnt have traction.. hell, i used to say it about my surf! If i went around a roundabout to quick (if i was in a hurry for work ) it would go fully sideways and was always a challenge to hold on to it. I just blamed my tires, but one day i checked the pressure.. and decided to pump them up from their 17psi to the reccomened 32 psi. Now I cant drift in it anymore.
  10. reason i wanted to do alloy is that there is a guy here in tweed that does it and quoted around $500 which i think is good cos he will do all the work... or i can lower the cost by cutting it myself.. i dont wanna do stainless due to $$$ and not mild cos I dont know anyone around here that does it. and it all depends on when i get my redundancy money thats been owed to me since november 01....... but if i get what im meant to i might just go for the 1UZ (toyota soarer v8) coversion, so i can have a 200kw hilux surf
  11. luke, is the 32 coola the same as the stock 33 one?
  12. haha, im not really in the market now - but hey, its always worth a try
  13. i'll offer you $13,000.
  14. thanks, exactly what i needed to know. also, alloy = alluminium?
  15. i would be up for it but it would have to be in brisbane or south... just dont have the time to drive all the way up to the sunshine coast.
  16. fatz - so what will you make the pipes out of. and what are benefits / disadvantages of steel or aluminium.
  17. so no one has an aftermarket intercooler.
  18. Whatever price you want is fair, but you will probably have a hard time selling it at the moment as there are quite alot of r33's going around for under 20k that are lightly modded.. eg body kit, wheels and a few other bits. anyway - just thought id let u know
  19. hmmm lots of .
  20. haha, thats what happens when you buy ****ty kenwood
  21. OK, I have a question about IC piping. What are the different materials that can be used and what are the benefits/disadvantages in using different materials. Also, i need the piping made in 60mm. What are the tightest mandrel bends I can get? Also, any reccomendations of a place to get it done on the coast. Looking for best value (eg cheap but good job - what we all want eh!) thanks in advance for any help.
  22. macka, the model/serial numbers are quite different too.
  23. so all in all... which would win.. stock v stock.. ? aussie slower becuase of zorst?
  24. byo everything??
  25. dont know exactly the name... but i was told the best place was to tap it into the ??inlet manifold?? (something like that) which is after the intercooler... this they say is the best place to messure the after intercooler pressure.
